Stayed at Mantra Collins Hotel for 5 nights total with my wife.

* Location is ideal, within walking distance of the waterfront area as well as various other tourist attractions like the Salamanca markets and battery point. Nearby supermarkets and restaurants.

* Staff were super friendly and helpful with enquiries

* Rooms were spacious and clean.

* Wifi worked well

* Parking was a bit difficult. A 5 minute zone out in front of the hotel with options for longer parking after 6 (But only a couple of available spots). A very large multilevel car park behind the hotel came at a rate of 18 dollars a day when ticket validated at front desk.

* Free laundry service provided on the 1st floor (the machines do have coin slots but you just advance the slots empty and everything works). This was particularly helpful to us after completing the overland track over the proceeding week and having a plethora of stinky clothes that needed to be washed.

* Reduced rate with ACCORD card. (10%).

* Price was reasonable for standard provided and time of visit.

Overall a decent stay and I wouldn't have any hesitation recommending to others.

I consider this to be an average hotel. The hotel rooms are not spacious, the shower is okayish but has not an abundant water flow, the bed is fine but not luxurious fluffy and the breakfast is below average.

The breakfast is not a buffet style but you must order at the counter and if you book the hotel including breakfast you have limited options; fresh fruit is extra cost and it seems that a second cup of coffee also cost extra. The quality of the breakfasts however is very good as well as the friendliness of the people serving it.

Parking your car in the garage just behind the hotel cost AUD 18 per day.

Dear Petro W. We certainly appreciate you taking the time to provide your feedback from your recent stay. Regarding your comments on the breakfasts we offer an a la carte style breakfasts so guests are able to order freshly cooked food and pay for as little or as much as they like on the day and therefore the fresh fruit would not be complimentary as we do not serve a buffet. We also serve great espresso coffees so they do need to be paid for upon consumption. Thank you for the lovely comments about the staff. I do hope we will see you again the next time you visit Hobart. Kind regards, Greg Illingworth General Manager

I stayed 4 night for business. I'm not sure how the price compares to other places in Hobart.

Good central location. The team were efficient and friendly throughout.
Room was compact, but we'll appointed. Comfy bed. Good bathroom. Wifi was good, but TV reception was woeful. (But then who goes away to watch TV)

Soundproofing could be better. The street sweeper was at work on the first night and I could clearly hear it from a middle floor. You can also tell when people are having late night showers.

Cafe downstairs has a limited selection, but I had 4 different breakfasts and they were all good. This the only place I've stayed in Tas, where the breakfast service has been excellent.

Room service has a few choices. I wouldn't eat in for 4 nights, but a first night meal is ok. But there are a lot of good places 5 to 15 mins walk from here.

Parking seemed annoying at first. Park next door, get the ticket stamped at the Mantra, walk back, pay in the machine etc. But in the end it is not much difference from other hotels, you just can't put it all on the room bill.

Depending on what you want to do while you're in Hobart, the Mantra could be just right.

I have stayed here in 2018 (4 years ago) as it is across the road from the Royal Hobart Hospital. I stayed recently (1 week ago) for 2 nights as I had a day surgery. I had arranged with Sonny the reception staff member who was more than obliging, I requested a late checkout as a member and due to the surgery.
The rooms are really tiny and overpriced compared to other hotels I have stayed at in the Mantra Group now Accor. I was advised that my Mantra membership is no longer, due to merging with Accor which was OK however there were no benefits offered compared to the Mantra apart from the late checkout. With the Mantra membership I was usually offered a membership discount but nope not anymore. Well I thought the late checkout was OK however the cleaner entered my room 1 hour before my agreed checkout asking if I had a late checkout and if I had had the checkout "cleared" by reception to which I said yes of course.
Now to the cleanliness...this hotel was closed for several months due to Covid and one would have thought that whilst the staff were off on JobKeeper the hotel would have used this opportunity to have the staff thoroughly clean each room!
Nope the bathroom floor was quite dirty with built up scum and dirt in the grout, the corners of the bathroom floor were filthy as if the cleaners just mopped the floor without scrubbing the corners. The inside windows were unclean with hand marks. The room was very tired looking which a coat of paint would have lifted the look. The aircon/heating was either too hot or cold no in-between. The linen and pillows seemed worn out and outdated.
Once again the staff were fantastic apart from the obtrusive cleaner staff member which really ended my stay with a very bitter taste.
The room was pretty quiet until 6am when the hospital loading dock started each morning which I guess the hotel has no control over but worth thinking about when booking this hotel, maybe book a back room.
This hotel is probably good for the business traveller that needs to wake early or isn't too concerned about quality and cleanliness.
The breakfast was amazing...
Will I return...NO!

I booked a Queen Room and had a city view which was OK. Room was well appointed, comfortable and very clean.

This was my birthday weekend, and staff had a complimentary bottle of wine waiting, then a nice tray of sweets on the day left in my room. It's those personal touches that create the memories.

The in-room TV had a camera feed from the harbourside so you could see the weather and water. A nice idea, except on a windy day that was quite bouncy. Wifi also require re-logging in often. And paid parking is concessioned at a commerial carpark adjacent.

Easy to walk from here to the harbour or into the city core. I would definately stay here again

The hotel is just a short walk away from the harbour and the main shopping area.
We had one of the apartments which was a bit on the small side especially for the price charged but was very comfortable. There is a large multi story car park immediately behind the hotel. The hotel validates your parking ticket which allows you to park for a set fee. This is only a couple of dollars cheaper than the day rate but if you don’t take your car out it’s the same charge for multiple days which then gives a big saving ie the ticket charge covers your entire stay until you exit. There is car parking on the streets overnight free of charge but you have to be away very early.
The hotel has a nice cafe in the reception area.

Nice visit but expensive for what you get.

A nice clean room in a central location near wharf area and shopping mall. Great staff who were very helpful and made you feel at home. There is a cafe on the ground floor for breakfast and a discount is offered for in-house guests.

Had a very enjoyable stay for our first trip to a Hobart at the Mantra on Collins. The hotel is in a very good location being a short stroll to Sullivan Cove and also to the shops of Hobart CBD. Our room was very comfortable and the kitchenette was perfect to allow us to self cater for breakfast each day. The staff at reception always provided us with a pleasant greeting upon our return from each adventure and promptly assisted us with any enquire we had.

We stayed 4 nights in the 1 bedroom with kitchenette and the room was very spacious and tastefully furnished. Rooms were fairly new and clean. The best thing about this hotel was the location. Walking distance to the docks, Salamanca markets, CBD and wonderful restaurants and cafes. The staff also gifted us a bottle of wine as we stayed for a wedding anniversary, which was a lovely gesture.
