Stayed here for 3 nights in Feb 2020, two couples sharing a 2 bedroom apartment, found it clean, comfortable and roomy enough, well equipped, with microwave and hotpaltes for cooking.
Good location, short walk to shops and lots of Asian restauarants, and about 15 min walk to Battery Point.
When checking in, I asked about the "breakfast provisions" mentioned on the website, and receptionist made out that I did not know what I was talking about and told us about where the closest shops were. However, in the folder of info in the apartment there was info and pricing ($4.50 from memory) about the breakfast. By the time we found it we ahd already shoped for our on supplies, sio did not botehr, just found it strange that she knew nothing about it!!
Parking lot was rather uneven and spots were a bit tight, and not necessarily outside your room.

I stayed in a double studio which was awesome. It had a proper kitchen with all facilities you might need, from chopping board to cooking pot & microwave. I had a queens size bed in the 'master bedroom', which was very comfy, and two single beds in the other bedroom. Both rooms had extra blankets, pillows and heater. Sockets are placed on both side of the bed as well as bedside lakps.
There're cleaning equipments in the bathroom which were very useful since there is no daily room service if someone stays less that 5 days. I quite liked this honestly because I am happy to make my bed, plus I don't like getting fresh towels every day (i find it extremely un environmentally friendly). For the same reason, I was happy to see the soap, sampoo, conditioner, body lotion and shave foam dispensers instead of the travel size ones in plastic packages.
The hotel itself located on one of the main roads of Hobart, only 10min walk from the City and 2min from the shops (woolworth, chemist, etc). Even though the hotel is on a main road, it is a bit closed area, so the traffic didn't really bother me during the night (i slept really well).
Overall, it exceeded my expectations and was a good value for money.

The Bay Hotel Apartments is a reasonably large complex and appears to provide visitors with a colonial Hobart Town look.
Reception on arrival was formal with instructions given regarding parking room service and room location.
The apartment is very spacious and of an open plan type, reminiscent of a studio style of accommodation. The lounge area consists of a comfortable sofa as well as a dining table and chairs. Also contained in the same area is a small kitchenette, well provisioned with kitchenware.
While still very much a part of the same open plan style, the bedroom space is identifiable by a wonderful luggage table that provides access to one’s luggage at a far greater height than the usual luggage support furniture. The bedroom area contains a large comfortable bed and great sidelights. The bathroom is of a good size and contains an exceptionally powerful shower over the bath. Care does need to be taken to ensure the curtain remains within the bath while showering and that the bathmat hanging over the bath is removed to avoid saturation experiences.
Excellent Guest Compendium.
Well located, being in the Sandy Bay shopping area and close to Battery Point and Central Hobart.
Excellent Wi-Fi provided.

Second time staying at this affordable apartment. The rooms are spacious and pristine clean. We opted for an executive twin studio (all located on the second floor so choose a standard twin if you want a ground floor room) with 2 beds, big TV, two very comfortable beds and two leather chairs. Full kitchen and walk in shower (only two executive studios have walk in showers). Lots of body lotion and soap and extra rolls of TP and boxes of Kleenex. Can't fault this place. It even had extra pillows and blankets individually wrapped up and an oil heater and fan in addition to the heat pump. Nicole and Jeanette at Reception were friendly and very accommodating. Have booked in again next month!

Stayed for 2 nights in Feb 2020. Have stayed here on previous visits to Hobart. This time we were given Room 1 which is a clean and comfortable unit. The bed was a little on the small size. Room 1 is located right next to the carpark for a type of builder's storage yard and also a push bike rider's shop and cafe. We found it quite noisy due to the early morning arrivals in the carpark and also the general road noise. Good location but not sure if we will stay again next time. Best to ask for a unit near the rear of the property, away from the road.

Just spent 4 nights at this hotel in Hobart. Staff friendly and accommodating when we had to change our dates at the last minute (thank you Nicole!) due to changes we had to make due to Covid and coming from Qld. We were visiting to do the 3 capes walk and were able to leave our luggage in storage while we went on the 4 day walk. Beds super comfy and fluffy pillows, USB charging ports next to beds. Bathroom and kitchen a little old but still very functional and had everything we needed. 5 min walk to woolworths, chemist and plenty of food options nearby. 20min walk to Salamanca Place and central Hobart. Will definitely be back next time we are back in Tas. Thank you also to Jeanette at reception for being so kind and helpful!

Very cheap and affordable, great value for money. Clean and tidy, good amenities. I was able to make breakfast in the morning, easily.

Great location and staff was helpful and very friendly.

Hot water ran out quickly- had to have a cold shower
Parking space was limited, it would be good to have a keep clear sign where the entrance to the upstairs rooms were. It was hard to get luggage up as people parked so close blocking the entrance way. Also could be a fire danger.

We stayed here 3 nights. The check in was friendly and helpful. The room was very clean but a little tired. ( Renovations were in progress in other areas of the apartments). Parking was easy. The apartments are well located for shops and restaurants and the Hobart hop on hop off bus stop is virtually on the doorstep. We would stay here again.

We stayed here one night on adjacent first floor rooms. They are well appointed with a good supply of toiletries and a powerful shower. There was a microwave, kettle etc. About 20 minutes walk from a good selection of restaurants and the harbour. Room was rather hot (no air conditioning) and the area around the bed felt cramped. However a good place to stay with a friendly owner.

Stayed here twice on our recent holiday in Tasmania. On our first visit we were on the 1st floor, with very steep stairs, not good for lugging luggage up and down. So we requested a ground floor for our return two weeks later.

The room was clean and had all the basic needs, the bed was a little uncomfortable.

Plenty of hot water in a good sized bathroom. This is a great location within walking distance to Salamanca Place and Wrest Point. Heaps of places to eat nearby, also a Woolies Supermarket to stock up
Would stay again if a ground floor room available.
The staff were extremley helpful and friendly.

Definitely don't take anything upstairs - too steep. Contact them by phone to discuss your request. If it is available and you have email, ask them to send you a reply confirming you have a ground floor room. Re the Shuttle/Hop On Hop Off Bus - there is a stop on Sandy Bay Road very close to Woolmers. Ask the Woolmers staff how you can purchase your tickets as they may be able to assist. Otherwise go to the bus company and ask them. On Saturdays there is a free shuttle to the Salamanca Markets however I don't know the route so again, ask the Woolmers staff as they are very helpful. It is a really good location - make sure you eat at Doctor Syntax almost next door! Best of luck.
