This was a stay of two rooms. I have to start this by saying straight up that nowhere on the hotel's website does it say that rooms have views. Great location at the end of Salamanca with short walk back into town. Away from the noise of the bars and restaurants. We arrived early but were able to park the car in the stacker carpark (very cool) and then go out for the day. I had a bad feeling the moment I opened the door. We pulled the curtains back and in front is a stone and concrete wall. We had to stand against the window to see sky. I went down to reception and said we couldn’t stay in the room. I was told they don’t advertise views. I said I did know that when I booked but looking into a solid wall was just not ok. The receptionist was super nice and said we could be moved tomorrow, just check at 10. We went down at 10 the following morning. The new room was ready and we could move straight away. Sometimes things do turn out. Two floors up with sky, trees and fresh air. The rooms themselves are really nice. Kitchenette, living room, huge bathroom with nice products and big fluffy towels. Cheap minibar. Lovely staff. If you have a car any bigger then a medium SUV you won't be able to use the stacker. Would we stay again? If we were able to request a room facing out onto the street, or on level 3 at the back, absolutely but the risk of staying on level one or two at the back would make us think twice. …
We got a fantastic deal through AMEX Holidays to stay in the one of the 4 loft apartments situated on the top floor of the hotel. The Hotel is situated opposite the Tasmanian University building on the wharf near Salamanca markets. Our loft apartment had a large living area and a bedroom with a free-standing bath. Good standard of equipment with fridges, cooktops and an oven if needed. Great location and very friendly staff. I would highly recommend.
This place could and should be so much better. It’s stunning when you first open the door, but when you look around and settle in there are lots of things that could be improved upon. The studio apartments wrap around the elevator (which wasn’t a problem), so there’s quite a distance from the bathroom door to the bathroom proper - heaps of room to add extra towel racks/hooks and a full-length mirror. The toilet is so low it looks like a children’s loo, probably a difficulty for older guests, and the shower cubicle is tiny, with only half glass, so water goes everywhere. Plenty of storage here, but not so much in the living room/bedroom. The hanging space is ridiculously small and we had to remove the ironing board to allow the few things we could fit in there to hang properly at all. There is no balcony furniture, meaning we had to move the indoor chairs out and back in constantly. These apartments have kitchens, which is why we chose them, but the fridge is full of mini-bar items, leaving precious little room for the food we purchased. Both the website and the in-room information mentioned complimentary daily newspapers, cable access and in-room movies. None of these things were available, supposedly due to COVID-19. Also apparently due to COVID-19, the reception hours had been reduced even though we were told the hotel was full. We had six uncomfortable nights on a too-soft bed with a too-heavy doona. On the plus side, the hotel is in a great location and the staff are friendly and helpful, especially housekeeping, and there’s a good cafe at ground level.…
Great location, stayed there 2 nights. Accommodation was excellent with all the facilities we require. Great set up kitchen to prepare meals, washing and drying facilities. Price was tops for location. Customer service was excellent. I honestly could not find fault with anything and highly recommend this accommodation, so central to the water and to walk to the CBD.. Thank you I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there. I did not have a hire car at this stage so cannot comment on parking facilities, did not need one as I walked everywhere as I wanted at that location.
We spent a week at this hotel in a premium apartment. The apartment was very clean and well equipped. Everything was in good condition. The reception staff and the cleaning staff were all very pleasant and helpful. The hotel is in a good location, close to shops, restaurants and the MONA ferry. There is also a cafe on the ground floor which we ate at a couple of times. We enjoyed our stay here very much and would chose this hotel again.
