Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lovely place to stay, very close to the waterfront, Salamanca, and all the tourist attractions of Hobart. Quiet street facing a marine research facility, (however no views of the water due to the building in front). Prices were good value when I stayed, reception staff very helpful and efficient. Rooms excellent, nice layout, clean and stylish. Bed very comfortable.

Certainly would not return to this hotel after our experience. Make sure you get what you have requested and payed for. We booked a premium King with washer and dryer. We got a room designed for disabled designed for showering in a wheelchair, extremely slippery floor, no washer dryer. Approached the receptionist and was given all the usual excuses but was told we would be moved next day. Alas in the morning told that nothing available they had given them all to a group booking. We had booked two premium kings as we were travelling with friends. The room they got was what we booked. The receptionist was polite to start with but soon become very defensive when questioned. Not a nice experience. Adjoining cafe good for breakfast. Absolutely enjoyed our two weeks in Tasmania and Hobart is a beautiful city.

Paid in advance for 3nights What we paid for and what we got was unacceptable !!!!!! King premium suite with washer/drier chosen as we had been traveling for two weeks prior so wanted to clean our clothes What we got was a large, cold dark room with wheelchair access for disabled people No washer/drier, bathroom was dangerous with totally wet floors when the shower was used including the toilet being in the same room. Bitterly disappointed !!! And we asked to change to the room we paid for but were told not available!!!!!!! We were Offered Maybe a bottle of sparkling wine to compensate. Not appropriate at a $1075.00 for 3night

Really enjoyed our stay here. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a studio apartment which was super roomy and well appointed. Thanks! :) Basically it is a self contained apartment - even having a washer/dryer combo. The car parking is a stacking system which was super easy to use. Check in was easy and the wonderful lady had even put the heating on in our room beforehand. Very thoughtful! Great location too. So many restaurants and bars close by. Though, in saying that, it is at the quieter end of the street. Would definitely stay again.

We chose to stay here as we wanted a location convenient to the wharf for one night. The whole experience was easy and enjoyable, from booking to check out. We booked a premium apartment with wheelchair access. The room was spacious, clean and well appointed with everything we needed. The bathroom has a great layout for access and has plenty of cupboard space and mirrors. The bed was soft and comfortable. The kitchen space had a well-stocked minibar with lots of Tasmanian produce for a reasonable price. The outlook onto the park behind the accommodation was also pleasant. We found the apartment quiet and very, very convenient. Had breakfast at Farzi, the cafe below, and thoroughly enjoyed this too. Fantastic coffee and menu choices. We would definitely stay here again!

We rarely stay in serviced apartments, but we may well change our mind after 4 days at the Salamanca Wharf Hotel. Clean, modern and with all the facilities right in the heart of Salamanca in Hobart. 5 min walk to the market on Saturday, but just far enough to escape the parking hassle. The cafe underneath provided a great start to the day and listened when we have specific food requirements. The reception and household staff we very helpful and friendly. We could not fault the place, although we would have liked firmer pillows (but that is just personal choice - my wife loved them). Highly recommend.

Stayed at SWH for 4 nights during June 2023. Such an amazing place. I booked a street facing balcony room on level 2. Reception staff were awesome and so accomodating and flexible. As I arrived after hours checked in via after hours process which meant getting a code and obtaining keys to get inside. Room was clean and warm and nice and spacious. Quiet area also but 100 metre walk to main Salamanca area. Close to the markets too. Cafe under hotel has excellent coffee and food. Parking was easy and awesome car stacker parking which was impressive. Highly recommend and if I stay in Hobart again, this will be my first port of call. Thanks SWH - a real gem!

Booked a premium apartment expecting a view of the harbour as described. Disappointed to find our balcony faced a high brick wall. Exterior window to outside of bedroom ( directly accessible from outside corridor) was loosely fastened with duct tape! Whilst we were asleep during the night the main blind to the bedroom ( also duct taped up) crashed down waking us up with a shock. When we asked for repair of same or different room the next day the receptionist advised she would get her father to try to fix it. She told us all other rooms were booked although this clearly was not true when we checked online. We returned later that morning to find it all retaped. The room was clean but really that’s about all the positive I could say about it. For the price we felt totally ripped-off.
