We stayed here 4 nights on our first trip to Tasmania and were happy with our choice to stay here rather than a hotel because of the comfort and convenience of this place. We stayed in room #1 which is on the main floor and has a queen size bed and a twin and a bathroom with a shower bath.... More

What a little gem in the middle of Hobart. I was a bit worried that Edinburgh Gallery would be awful because it was so cheap but it has all the homely comforts of a really expensive B&B without the high price tag. John was friendly, gave fantastic advice of local activities but best of all he remained good natured when... More

The purpose of booking The Edinburgh is to stay in a B&B (and a charming old building) because for us, this kind of accommodation is virtually non-existent in Asia and of course, given the many positive reviews. After doing the Great Circle of Tasmania for 13 nights, we left having a mixed feeling about this property. We booked the Verandah... More

Thanks for your comments Jimmy. Of course you arrived the week before the new curtains go up, you know with a 100 year old house there's been many things to do since I took over 2 and a half years ago. As to your price comparisons it's a bit disingenuous to compare prices of regional centres with a place in... More

A very comfortable and convenient B&B in an atmospheric 150 year old house. Very clean, spacious and well appointed rooms (we had a family verandah room), yummy breakfast provided. Highly recommended.

We arrived in Hobart without any booking but soon found this gem. Initially planned to stay for three nights with the kids but ended up staying for five. Parked out the back most days and rode our bikes to most places around Hobart although its not far to anywhere if you are on foot. The breakfast room is well set... More

We had just arrived in Hobart on a Saturday morning and I had dropped the rest of my family with the hire car at Salamanca Markets but could see parking was going to be difficult due to the big crowd attending the market so decided to try my luck going to our booked accommodation at the Edinburgh Gallery Bed and... We stayed here for four nights as our base in Hobart. All the good reviews are true, all of the bad reviews can be ignored. John runs a great B&B; the house is beautifully renovated, rooms are very comfortable and very warm even in mid-winter. Breakfast is sufficient - cereals, fruit, juice, yoghurt, toast and choice of tasty spreads (if... More

Real life lived up to expectations from the reviews we had read. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the location was excellent and the atmosphere very charming. We did have some issues keeping warm but that is not due to the room heater or electric blanket on the bed; it was very cold when we were there! We walked... More

Our room catered for 3, queen and single bed, beautifully decorated. Old building, interestingly decorated with modern bathroom facilities. Our host John was great and provided us with useful info on good places to eat. The beds were comfortable and everything was very clean. Very well priced central city location with offsite free parking and wifi.
