Affordable hotel in a centre location walking distance to everything, only stayed one night and didn't try the breakfast. Clean room, nice staff only down side is its dark in the rooms because the building is sandwiched between others so cannot see out to check out the weather. Would recommend for an economy break,

We were after an affordable hotel near central Melbourne, and Causeway 353 would definitely be somewhere we'd choose again. Easy walking distance to a free tram, off the Main Street so it's quiet at night, great internal facilities. The morning complimentary breakfast was sufficient for us too, offering more non-hot choices than would normally be on offer.

Location is great, room very small - supposed to be a Deluxe King??? The pillows are atrocious, cheap does not cover it, they have never been a pillow. When I called housekeeping they just offered me more of the same - very bad customer service. The breakfast is useless, very poor selection, the worst coffee machine in Melbourne and wait...

This hotel is perfect for business or pleasure, quiet, great location, clean and great bed. Staff were helpful, will highly recommend. Great coffee in cafes next door, so many choices. Great location for shopping too, it's a hidden gem tucked down a lane way. Try it, you won't be disappointed.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
