We had dinner on Saturday night prior to a show-excellent food and service,a great spot to have dinner before bird’s Basement as an easy 5 minute walk away.
A very nice comfortable dining room with a great feel ,it also has a tv screen playing Bird’s Basement music which was a good warm up for the show

We stayed at The Corner Jazz Hotel for 5 nights at the end of 2019 begining of 2020. Our room was a King one bedroom city view. Awesome views, very clean and very good service. All staff ( from the reception, the bar area and also the room cleaners) were very friendly and ready to help all the time. The hotel has a very good position, close to Queen Victoria Market and only 15 minutes walk to Southbank. Public transport is at the door and don't forget you can catch the tram for free when going around the CBD.
We really enjoyed our stay at The Corner Jazz Hotel and will not hesitate to book here again.

Great location opposite Flagstaff Park, we stayed in a Kings View apartment on the 33rd floor and wasn't disappointed.

The room itself was clean for the main part (found someones false eyelashes on the living room carpet but they are sticky little buggers so probably just got stuck) and it had all amenities - kitchen items, tea, coffee, dishwasher and washer (including the wash powder and washing up liquid) and all bathroom items were in reusable containers.

Big comfy bed and breakfast was amazing with lots of choice. The guy looking after us at breakfast (think his name was Dale) was great and showed us several places of interest on the map for us to visit and make the most of our time in the city.

Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a good base to visit Melbourne, and Melbourne as a city has plenty to do even when the Grand Prix is cancelled!!

We stayed at this hotel in February 2020, spending 4 nights from Thurs-Mon.
The room was presented well and clean, although there was an unfortunate persistent cigarette/smoke smell in the room that no amount of airing (via the balcony door) would eradicate.
The staff offered to change rooms, however we elected to stay, with the view that our time in the room would be kept to sleeping and mornings.
We stayed in a King bed room, the mattress was a tad sinky, but minimal complaints about sore backs in the morning.
The view was spectacular and a real feature of staying in this room, gorgeous views of the western side of the city visible through the floor to ceiling windows.

The amenities were small but adequate and clean. No bath in the room in which we stayed in.

The room was equipped with a gas cooktop, oven and microwave and included a small selection of utensils, enough to put together a simple meal from scratch.

The position of the hotel was excellent for anyone looking to spend time exploring Melbourne’s inner city, with easy access to public transport, walking distance to a wide range of restaurants and of course shopping.

Due to the wide range of nearby restaurants we did not make use of the hotel food services or cafe.

I booked this a week before new years eve and was able to get a room on the 32nd floor with city views for new years eve for ~ $400 AUD (no breakfast). The location was great as Flagstaff gardens (in front of the hotel) had their own new years fireworks and entertainment. We had a great time, the hotel room was beautifully decorated, contemporary and very clean. It had a laundry cupboard with washer/dryer, kitchenette, bathroom, bedroom, lounge and balcony. The balcony had great views of the city fireworks. I did request a room with good views of the city fireworks but upon check-in i have a feeling the staff didn't really note that and i just got lucky with the room. The only down side were the Indian cleaning staff who were rude and ill mannered. One time we got in a lift with one and he was frustrated we had got in with him with his cart, banging the buttons, the second time there were two guys who rudely stopped me from getting in the lift with them by screaming me down and saying "No No No" with their hands up. I ended up apologising to them but i thought that was pretty rude as they didn't even apologise to me. They probably just need some training on customer service skills. There were only two lifts and we were just trying to get down to the ground floor from the 32nd floor. Anyway regardless we had a good time in the beautiful space.

We stayed here for 5 nights in November when the hotel was at capacity for the convention at Marvel stadium and we would definitely stay again.

Our family of 5 were very comfortable in our 2 bedroom apartment and housekeeping always had our room serviced upon our return.

We would definitely stay here again next time we are in Melbourne as it conveniently located and the room was awesome.

We recently stayed here for 3 nights at the beginning of our holiday and returned for one night which was the last night of our trip.
Our first stay was excellent, lovely room, fantastic view. Our second stay was awful, a very small room that had a view of a derelict building and the room itself looked unfinished with a part concrete ceiling and smelt of smoke. Plus it took a journey of 3 lifts to get to the breakfast room from our second room!
We had booked the same style of room for both stays, a studio but they were very different experiences.
Both rooms were well equipped with washing machine/tumble dryer, microwave, oven, hob, dishwasher & fridge. Tea/coffee. Shower gel, soap etc.
The hotel breakfast was amazing, recommend the smashed avocado from the a la carte or the buffet breakfast which was the best throughout our whole stay in Australia.
The hotel is located in a good area for the free tram and sight seeing.
Reception staff weren't overly friendly, always felt like we were a nuisance if we asked them anything. No one was very helpful. Apart from Dale in the breakfast room, he recommended a great day of sight seeing around Melbourne. He is a mine of local information.
If we had just stayed there at the beginning of the holiday, I would have rated the hotel as Excellent. If we had just stayed there at the end of the holiday I would have rated it as awful, so hence I've gone in the middle with an average.

Our stay here was perfect, the hotel rooms are more like very comfy well stocked chic little apartments and the jazz style accented the beautiful city views nicely. They have a 24hr concierge desk and checkin and checkout was easy and courteous. Daria helped us settle in and welcomed us warmly. I have zero complaints and lots of praise for this little gem of a hotel. Thanks guys.

This was our second stay at this property in two consecutive years. We planned to stay for two nights (Thursday 11th and Friday 12th Feb 2021) over the Australian Open (AO), but unfortunately due to the five-day lockdown in Melbourne we had to leave one day earlier.

I booked a Studio Funk Queen View. When we checked in at 3.30pm, Rebecca (staff) allocated us a great studio on level 28 (room 2814)

Positive

Staff:
The staff (Rebecca) was very friendly, accommodating, and attentive. Due to departing earlier because of the impose lockdown, the second night was refunded. As per my conversation with the Hotel, a refund was requested to my travel agent, and Rebecca called me a few days to process the credit directly into my credit card.

Views from the room:
The unit has an amazing view from overlooking the west, Victoria market, part of Flagstaff Gardens and Royal park.

Facilities of the room
The studio apartment was well organized, super clean and contains everything that someone needs for a short or long stay. As s coffee drinker, I really enjoy the Nespresso capsule coffee machine.

Location:
It is located just opposite the beautiful “Flagstaff Gardens”, walking distance from Victoria market and a short stroll from Melbourne Central.

Negative
Someone from the hotel came into the room without nocking the door. It appears that the previous guest forgot something in the room. Not a big deal, but this type of feedback will help staff to deliver from a good experience to a great one.

We stayed at the Jazz Hotel after a 12 day cruise. We were pleasantly surprised to find our room available when we arrived. The staff handled our check-in smoothly. They provided extra detergent, restaurant recommendations and a warm greeting. The staff at the cafe was very helpful with recommendations as well. We had a minor glitch with the toilet and the flush not working properly, they sent someone immediately and it was fixed in just minutes by a very friendly, efficient repair person. I would suggest they provide written instructions for the washer/dryer combo. We were not used to this type of setup and I think we may have been more efficient with a printed instruction card.
