We received fabulous service from friendly staff. Our room was very comfortable and clean and a great size for us. The breakfast buffet was fantastic with a great variety of foods on offer. Close to lots of restaurants and tram stop.

We stayed at the Crown Metropol Hotel in Melbourne, Australia on our visit there last month. The Crown Metropol was very well situated near the center of Melbourne in the Crown Casino Complex which spreads over several city blocks. There are many shops and restaurants in the Casino complex itself, and many others located nearby. The Crown Metropol is located close to several subway and tram lines; but is also only one block to the Yarra River and easily within walking distance to many of the local attractions.
Our room was medium to large sized with two queen sized beds (each with a white duvets, two pillows, and two throws); a desk and a desk chair, and a small round table. There were night stands on either side of the beds with lamps and reading lights. Unfortunately, the desk chair was the only chair in the room; and there was no luggage carrier. There was a large sized TV on the wall opposite the foot of the bed; a coffee urn and fixings, and a wardrobe closet. The wardrobe closet contained robes and slippers for quest use.
There were extra electrical outlets for chargers, etc.; and the lights had switches adjacent to the bed. But the electric switches for the lighting were awkward to reach and difficult to locate from the bed. There was no overhead lights and the LED lights near the bed did not provide good overall lighting - the room was always dim.
The view out the window was over the roof level of the parking garage not great!
The bathroom was large and spacious with separate glassed-in stalls/areas for the shower and toilet cubicles. There was only one basin in the vanity but roomy counter space. Adequate toiletries were provided along with face clothes, facial tissues, and (one) bar soap. There was a hairdryer, but no magnifying/shaving mirror. As in the bedroom, the LED lights in the bathroom had bright spot areas, but did not provide effective overall lighting (not even on the mirror) and the result was a dim bathroom.
The room has a very modern decor with some unusual features. There are sliding panels between the bathroom vanity and the bedroom; and sliding wall/door panels between the bathroom and hallway area. Interesting, novel, and different but not really of practical value.
Check in was slow because the hotel insisted on taking a $100 deposit from every room, one couple at a time with only 1 or 2 desk clerks supporting a long line of arriving guests.
The included breakfast were provided at the nearby (inside the complex) Mr. Hive's Restaurant. As usual, it was served buffet style, but was very good and they served the best scrambled eggs of the whole trip.

During a recent trip to Melbourne I was accommodated in the Crown Metropol hotel. This is truly a quality hotel the room was amazing and the hotel staff were exceptional, on arrival the we were treated by valet parking staff and the greeting was very friendly.

Check in was a breeze and the hotel offered a $10 voucher to use at the connected Crown Casino complex. Once checked in you can walk from the hotel to through the entire Crown complex without heading outside. This was wonderful considering the weather was raining during our stay.

The room had a large king bed and offered a full mini bar with snacks. The TV entertainment included all the local channels and a large variety on pay TV channels.

I was suitably impressed with this hotel and definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a hotel in Melbourne. It will be the place I stay during my next visit to the southern capital.

My mum and I went to stay at crown Metropol as we do every year and normally always have a lovely time and that’s why we return every year however this year was a complete 180!! The room we got was absolutely disgusting and neglected stains on the roof from water, stains on the ledges from coffee cups, the bed was scuffed everywhere, the table had chunks missing out of it and to top it off the bed had lipstick stains. Now I am aware the hotel is 10 years old but it is classified as a 5 star hotel it is the hotel’s responsibility to upkeep this “ 5 star” hotel and actually give the guests a 5 star room and these are not, not only are the rooms run down and dated and are something you would expect from a 3 star room but the cleaning isn’t up to standard anymore either.
Now we mentioned how we were unhappy with the room a we were moved which is fine we understand things happen but the next room was even worse it had actual stains on the sheets and the pillows!!
So when we calmly stated to the hotel staff this room had stains on the actual linen they moved us again however this time the duty manager was disgustingly rude to my mum who was nothing but nice and respectful through this whole process was threatened to be kicked out!!!! This is absolutely disgusting and I’m horrified of the treatment we received!! It’s not our fault if you have no other rooms available, we even offered to pay for a upgrade to make sure we got a room worth paying the money we were spending. We will never stay at this hotel again mostly because of how they treated us, when you are spending this sort of money on a room you deserve to actually be given a room up to standard I think this hotel needs to seriously think about the upkeep and giving it a face lift if you can justify the prices. And I strongly believe the duty manager that was working on the dates of the 5th to the 7th needs to be given some kind of punishment for making a guest cry and treat them like they aren’t worthy of staying at the facility.

My wife and I stayed here for just one night in February for our 15th Wedding Anniversary. Our rate included valet parking, so we arrived and had our car taken care of which is always a bonus. Check in was a short wait and was polite and friendly. We were offered an upgrade for an extra $30, which we decided on because it was a higher floor and a larger room. The room was great, from the views of Port Phillip Bay to everything else. The mattress was a little firm for my liking but my wife liked it, very hard to please everybody. Our rate also included a bottle of Sparkling wine which arrived perfectly about 20 minutes after we got into our room. We had a great night out at the casino with drinks and food at R Bar (food is provided by Rockpool. Our rate also included breakfast in Mr Hive restaurant which was a bit crowded, but you expect that on a Saturday morning. Food selection was good. Checkout was quick and polite. Took about 10 minutes for our car to come up which was pretty good considering our busy it was. Overall, a great stay and would stay again either just as a couple or with the kids.

I take each of my children for a city stay when they complete primary school as a special treat. I chose Crown Metropol thinking it would be a super-charged experience for my son after what was a pretty rough final year (thanks Covid).

I mentioned it in the booking about the special occasion and the lovely girl at check-in chatted to my son about it so I knew it was on the booking. She said there'd be something special in the room.

There was nothing. I thought maybe they might pop a little dessert voucher or something in there for him? I called later to order dessert and mentioned that we were told of a special treat for my son. They were going to chase it up. 50 minutes later, I still had no dessert and no call back. I decided to go down and buy some lollies for him. I was stopped at checkin and asked if all was okay. Again, just mentioned the special treat. They said they'd sort it by sending up a plate of lollies and chocolates. I didn't go and buy any given they were going to have some sent up.

Nothing.

Finally a housekeeping employee turned up with 3 Lindt chocolates about an hour later.

Look, it seems petty but I've stayed at other hotels for the same occasion, different kids. One of them wrote a personal card for my son and left a voucher for a milkshake. The other had his name written in chocolate with a couple of strawberries. Simple gestures that make the difference. Smaller, boutique hotels perhaps have the capacity to offer a more personalised experience?

In other news, the pool was packed and no bookings were possible so we checked back in 4 times and could not get a chair/space so we ditched the idea.

The sheets were ripped (?!) from being threadbare. Shocking for a 4.5 star hotel.

It would all be fine if it wasn't supposed to be a luxury hotel. Their efforts to amend the stay were to offer for me to book again and they'd upgrade me (if available). Why would I pay to go back? No chance.

I'd strongly recommend you find a smaller, more boutique hotel in Melbourne for any special occasion or personalised experience.

Crown seems to care only about the gambling guests who spend all their time throwing away their money and barely any time in the room.

I stayed with my daughter & 2 young grandchildren in a double (twin) room for 3 nights. The service in this hotel was excellent. The fantastic rooftop pool was a big hit. We had a wonderful view from the 14th floor.
My only comment is why on earth is the bathroom area virtually open to the rest of the room? You can push sliding screens across but not to completely seal it off. In addition, the toilet & shower in the bathroom have see through doors & dividing wall with a kind of corrugated glass. OK, we are family, but a word to the wise to those, like me, who prefer their privacy.

Check in line took one and a half hours . Finally got seen at 3.30pm to be told our room was not ready. We had a reservation booked to meet friends and family at 4 pm which I had no time to get ready or make the reservation which had to be cancelled as I was going to be penalised on my card for a no show ( covid rules ). I can deal with the influx checking in that you apparently weren’t equiped for but what I can’t deal with is accepting that you knew you had 2 pm check ins and yet you couldn’t have our room ready? Unfortunately by 4.30 I had to demand to see a manger . Mind you the check in line by this time was worse than the airport and moving all the way outside . Many people couldn’t get to their rooms as they were not cleaned still. I finally was seen by the manager who I know was doing her best but you must understand, you can not comfortably take close to $500 a night with no extras and not even prepare the hotel service for the influx you happily accepted . Wasted date night. We wasted money. It was hard to appreciate the room after a cancelled dinner and the dramas. Please sort your cleaning services out and acknowledge when a customer is losing over two hours hotel paid time- reduce the rate without them asking.

Nice hotel not really 5 star to be honest, do not stay in rooms 2649 and 2650 on the 26th floor , these rooms are below the gym and you will be woken very early in the morning to loud banging from people using the equipment it is impossible to sleep through. We had to go down to guest reservations to politely raise the issue as the in room telephone would not work properly.
Guest reservations didn’t seem surprised with what we were saying and organised for a room transfer for that day, the rooms on the 21 st floor were furnished the same but didn’t seem as modern in terms of some things you needed the key placed in the power socket to make the lights and power work and don’t feel as fresh paint and bathroom tidiness as rooms on the 26th floor . But I’d take that over the noise any day.
Man in charge of guest Reservations was extremely helpful and gifted us a free breakfast for the inconvenience at mr hive restaurant the food was very nice.
Check in and check out process was good. If you can get the hotel rooms on sale it’s worth the stay but definitely would not pay full price they are nice but doesn’t feel 5 star have stayed at other hotels in Melbourne that are 5 star and are nicer for around the same price.
The room view over looked a car park roof not very nice.

Handy that it’s connected to the crown precinct and the staff at the Metropol are very friendly .

When booking you can get some good deals if you join crown direct and book yourself via the webpage then calling the hotel directly.
Will stay again if nightly price is reasonable and if room available away from the gym area.

The hotel is in a great location. There is a free tram very close by that makes a loop around the center, There are several restaurants inside the hotel. Small IGA grocery store is very near. Breakfast buffet was good, but nothing special and definitely not worth the money to pay for it.

The room was quite large (1065). Not a great view. With every light on in the room, it was too dark to read a book at night. There was an iron, ironing board, coffee maker, and safe, outlets by the bed are under an end table. I had to lie down on the floor with a flashlight to plug a CPap machine in. It took quite a while to get hot water in the shower. They provided 2 bathrobes and slippers. At least in our room, there was no book with hotel information.

I saw a sign at the desk that they charge an additional fee if you pay with a credit card. Besides drug dealers, who pays for a hotel stay with cash? Parking is about $21/a night. There is a pool. Even though the Wi-Fi sign in said we would only have free internet for 24 hrs, we had it for 2 days.

All in all, it was an ok hotel but nothing special. Definitely not worth the price that I saw on the internet. I was here with a group so I don’t know exactly what the charge was.

I think it was $50 bucks a day. Yes check in can take that long. The room was perfect however the pool was such a disappointment as it was more like a learnt to swim waterpark for kids who also were pooing and peeing in it. Not ideal pool for a beautiful hotel.
