The picture on this page lured my partner in - she liked it being opposite David Jones. When I pointed out it actually was opposite Myer, she was less impressed. However the location is wonderfully central. We took one of the better rooms, as it was relatively inexpensive. The room was very small, clean and utterly without charm, except the...

Great location, but still quiet for sleeping. Breakfast was good! Just what we needed. Rooms are on the smaller side, but that wasn't an issue for us - they are clean and tidy. We had internet included in the deal we purchased, which was great - but if you don't have that deal (which I gather they are phasing out),...

Great location in the centre of Melbourne CBD. Very clean and comfortable budget hotel with helpful staff. Buffet breakfast was available and although there wasn't a cooked breakfast available it was adequate. I will definitely consider staying there again.

Tucked away just off one of the main shopping streets the hotel was ideal for exploring melbourne and getting about. Few frills, clean compact rooms. Good quality buffet[cold] breakfast served from 6.30 a.m. Staff could not be more helpful. Agood budget option in a city where accommodation is not cheap.

Great central location. Very friendly helpful staff. Bed very comfortable. Nice walk in power shower. Breakfast very nice though no cooked food. I couldn't believe that a queen premier bedroom was about 5x4 metres. It was explained this is what you get for economy in Melbourne though I could have got much better for the same price in retrospect. The...

If your trip to Melbourne is an eating/shopping kind of trip then this hotel is perfect. There is so much to do in Melbourne you literally come home and collapse at the end of the day. The reception staff were super friendly, the bedding white, clean and pretty new. New carpet, new block out drapes and a kettle for a...

This hotel had everything we needed, great location, good bed, great shower, except for the shower curtain!, nice and quiet, and good breakfast. What more could you want. The staff are all friendly and provide good service. The only thing would be, it was a little hard to find when being dropped off by the shuttle, but this ok, it's half the...

My son and I stayed 3 nights in a twin room. The room was small however clean and tidy and as we only slept there the smallness of the room didn't worry us. The TV was too small and should be replaced with a bigger wall mounted set. It did have free to air, digital TV stations and three pay...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
