Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed at Zagame's house for a work trip, and it was such an amazing stay! From the minute our group walked in, we were greeted warmly by the front desk staff and had the hotel facilities explained to us. The rooms - WOW! The size of the bathroom alone should be celebrated, and the shower! The room was comfortable, well lit and had a great amount of wardrobe space as well. The free Wi-Fi was fast, and the Chromecast ability on the TV was great. The woman behind the scenes, Caitlin, was so accommodating when it came to our group booking, and worked really well with us to ensure we had a great stay. Would we stay here again - ABSOLUTELY!

We loved our stay at Zagame’s House! The reception area is warm and welcoming. The staff are incredibly helpful and go out of their way to make your stay special. The beds are so comfortable - we managed to sleep in everyday! The attention to detail in the room was fabulous with beautiful toiletries and well appointed amenities. The location is also perfect, being a fairly short walk from the city and amongst the best restaurants that Lygon St has on offer. We’ll definitely stay at Zagame’s again the next time we have the pleasure of visiting Melbourne.

Met Mohi Ismail at the counter, the most friendly staff I’ve ever seen. Went to few restaurants recommended by him and didn’t disappoint at all! He asked us about the current situation of our country Taiwan, super warm! The bed is super comfy, wish to sleep there every day. Love the fragrance of the shampoo and body wash, lovely smell of coconut.

Compact room but well designed. Good for 1 person. If 2 book a bigger room category. I loved the amenities and location. Only thing i did not like was the walkway outside the rooms, felt a bit exposed to noise and strangers. The staff were nice and the room very clean Lovely bed and shower with awesome shampoo etc. Even a straightener!

Between May 2015, and mid-March 2020 (just before COVID), due to business travel, I spent close to three hundred nights in Melbourne, all at large-chain (Accor and Marriott) hotels, both in, and close to, the CBD. For a recent personal trip to visit family, American Express Travel recommended Zagame's House, so my wife & I decided to stay somewhere different for a change, and we are so very glad we did! From the minute we arrived at reception on Sunday afternoon, February 11, where we were warmly welcomed by both Mohi and Britteny, through to checking out on Wednesday morning, my wife & I were made to feel like valued guests. What was formerly the Quality Hotel Downtowner on Lygon Street has been completely renovated, and transformed into a modern, stylish, and contemporary boutique hotel. Our bed was amazingly comfortable, and the soft pillow was exactly to my liking. Service is amazing, from breakfast in the space adjacent to the front desk, to Happy Hour and dinner in Lord Lygon. My wife & I travel to Melbourne between three and five times a year to visit some of our family members who live there. After only one stay, Zagame's House has become our new "Home Away From Home" when we stay in Melbourne. Thanks to Team Zagame for having made Margaret's & my stay as enjoyable and memorable as it was.

Zagame’s is our go to hotel when visiting family in Melbourne - we have stayed there regularly over the last few years Rooms are modern, spotlessly clean, beds are comfy and the staff always go the extra mile to look after you - even a coffee at a very early morning checkout

Excellent location just outside the CBD. Contemporary room with nice amenities. Very friendly and helpful staff. Very good value. Although we did not have a vehicle, the property appears to have plentiful parking which I imagine is unusual so close to the CBD. We would definitely stay here again.

Thankyou Caitlin & Zagames! We just finished running our business event at Zagames and man are we impressed. I’ve been running events for 10 years and I’ve never experienced such a beautiful combination of support and also being left alone to just do our thing (I’m used to event spaces controlling our every move and being a little condescending). Caitlin gave us very fair negotiations on our hire rate, was punctual and ontop of everything, and made sure we were happy with everything along the way.. There was also a miscommunication (which was my fault) that she took ownership of (when she probably didn’t need to) and reconciled it. Lastly? 80% of our clients commented on how they loved the space. Our usual % is around 20-30… results don’t lie. Look forward to our next event guy! Big love. - Impact Nation

The room and amenities are stylish and both luxurious and generous. Sleeps were dreamy with super comfy bedding and assorted pillows and quiet and peaceful for a city hotel. The staff are lovely and share a friendly and personalised vibe. Love a small boutique hotel!

I’ve stayed at a number of boutique hotels over the years both in Australia and abroad. Zagame’s House is probably at the top of the list. The rooms are large, spacious and incredibly well designed and appointed. The staff, warm and friendly. The location is perfect, with the hotel being within walking distance of the city as well as a number of fantastic restaurants and cafes. I felt like a really got my money’s worth. I’d stay there again without hesitation.
