Great boutique hotel in Melbourne's centre. Very convenient to restaurants, shops and cafes. Lovely comfortable rooms. Delicious breakfast and the mini bar was fantastic! Staff were helpful and accommodating.

The Adelphi has maintained its place among the best boutique hotels in Melbourne. It's within walking distance of everything you may want to do, theatre, shopping & sensational food up and down Flinders Lane. We'll be back Adelphi!!!

Management should be proud of their hotel and their staff. This well thought out hotel offers lovely rooms, top notch amenities and special touches. Service from front office staff was text book perfect. F&B staff could do with a touch more training but overall we had a wonderful stay and I highly recommend. You also can't beat the location of... Thank you for a refreshing and exceptionally unique escape. We were celebrating our anniversary and couldn't have chosen a better Hotel. The attentive staff and all the little details made our time memorable. And then there was Om Nom, just wow! Pure food theatre... So many unexpected surprises never experienced or seen before in our travels. Thanks Adelphi xx

I stay at several hotels a month (all 4 star +) and Adelphi has easily taken my vote for the best. Located conveniently on the corner of Flinders Lane and Swanston St it's close to everything (or transport to everything). Funky modern rooms, very clean and spacious with everything by you need for a comfortable stay. The highlight of our... More

This was our third visit to the Adelphi Hotel and in our opinion it continues to be the best boutique hotel in Melbourne. It is in a very convenient but quiet location, it is a striking building, the rooms and fixtures are high quality and very stylish and the staff are just great.

Great location and the staff were pleasant. But the rooms are tired and sad (nothing ages as badly as once-hip modern décor), the lighting is terrible, there are no power points, the furniture is impractical and uncomfortable and ... just in case you were expecting otherwise ... the "free mini bar" consists of a couple of bottles of soda a... Welcoming staff in a funky environment with lovely perks - like a glass of wine on arrival! The rooms are a bit Swedish and stainless steel but fun, modern and totally functional. Great location in the city with a great restaurant attached too.

I recently stayed here for about a week. I love small, quirky boutiques hotels any day over the larger sometimes stale feeling corporate hotels. The hotel itself is tucked away on Flinders Lane and the location is awesome. It so close to all the places you might want to visit or need to be. The large amount of awesome restaurants... More

I was pleasantly surprised by the Adelphi. After a long day of flying I was surprised when the front desk staff came and got my bags and showed me to my room and the features of the room - don't think that happens often in Australia. You also get free chocolates/lollies and drinks from the mini-bar to keep per day... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
