Clean linen and comfortable bed. Ample space in the room. Great location, also quite near to Southern Cross Station. During our stay, it so happen that they had to reset the heating system- so a bit of cold periods during the night. Hope it is an isolated case.

As a customer we Was very disappointed with this hotel. I thought Quality of food was not very good for breakfast on two of the days that we were staying. On our 3rd day we decided to go else where for breakfast. The eggs not cooked properly and the rest of the plate was cold. They didnt have a very...

After booking I had read some bad reviews and got a little concerned. However, upon entering the room I was sincerely happy to see that there was plenty of room. I booked a double room with a and a single for the 3 of us and was surprised to find we had a queen size! No complaints there! The room...

we thoght this hotel looked like it had previously been a backpackers place & done up, poorly. The facilities are very basic for what we paid. We have stayedd in far better quality hotels for a lot less than the price of this hotel. If on a tight budget, fine, if you can pay £5 more a night, do not...

Being right on the edge of the CBD and 10 minutes to the Skybus and train station is about it. Staff were for the most part pretty average, hotel is dated and the black & neon green paint just a little too much. First room was right by the lifts so upgraded for $15.00 a night which got us a...

Location is excellent and close to southern cross station and bus terminal, good for holiday makers but not recommended if you're a light sleeper and have important meetings the next day. Noise: The buzz from the fridge is quite loud and the 20+ air conditioners running out side add to this background noise, I couldn't sleep for the night I...

For a budget hotel in a great central location, the hotel worked out just fine. The room was basic and clean, and included a min-fridge. However, the decor in the hallways (black with neon green doors) looked a bit like a failed DIY project, and the creaking hallways and thin doors meant that you could hear every time someone went...

The location of this hotel is the only really great thing about it. Everything else is average at best. The room itself was pretty dingy - grubby walls and windows (one of the slats was made of plastic and the window in the bathroom didn't close properly. I wouldn't want to stay here in the middle of July!). The bed...

Stayed here for 3 nights over Easter. We knew we were on a budget but also that we didnt want to spend time in a luxurious hotel as. Wanted to see the Melbourne sights. Kingsgate was a great place to get our value for money as well as a clean and well presented hotel. We asked the manager Rob to...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
