Very beautiful hotel - My daughter and I could feel the history contained within its walls! Staff were efficient and friendly and the location was excellent. The room had an old world charm about it and it was very clean. We were very satisfied with our stay.

I visited Melbourne for business. The Windsor is a great location with convenient access to transport and restaurants / bars. It has heaps of old world charm and friendliness. Cricketer's Bar is also great for a quiet and refreshing ale at the end of the day

Due to a stuff up in reservations at another hotel I arrived at the Windsor at 2am looking for help. John manning the night desk looked after me, gave me a tremendous room and really saved my bacon on the first night in Melbourne. The room was fantastic, bettered only by the service!

I have visited Melbourne several times. I will stay at The Windsor with my future visits. The rooms are large and the beds are extremely comfortable. There is a restful nature with this hotel that is set off with the 'old world' ambience in this hotel. The staff are engaging and extremely professional. The best hotel in Melbourne in my view.

I recently stayed at the Hotel Windsor for 2 nights. The hotel has a beautiful charm about it. The room was clean and spacious with beautiful high ceilings. The only negative with my room was that the plumbing was quite noisy from other rooms, however I would expect this from a hotel this old and it didn't make my stay...

But for the location, a real crap sandwich. Reception couldn't speak English when I checked in, but pre-charged my debit card, more than an hour before I had my room key. Put right by the lift, I was woken no less than 8 times by the closing doors between 10pm and 1am, every 20 minutes. (???) The keys don't work,...

Dear Sir, Sincere apologies for the disturbances caused and the numerous inconvenience experienced. A good night’s sleep is a given. We shall take note and act accordingly (although I am somewhat at a loss to think of the receptionist who is not fluent in English). A Room Service Lift is next to 4 rooms yet this is not to be...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
