Friendly and helpful staff. Full breakfast at One Eleven was excellent. Quaint Victorian Hotel with lovely harp music as you enter the lobby. Spacious room with pillow menu and good housekeeping services. Convenient location near Parliament House, St. Patrick's Cathedral, Melbourne Museum, Circle Line Tram route.

Relax into a world of elegant charm! From the minute we walked into the foyer and heard the soothing tones of the harp, to the delicious breakfast and the wonderful surprise of sparkling wine for my birthday, we had a wonderful weekend.

The Windsor hotel is Melbourne. Take yourself back 100years - just wonderful. Squeaky floors...high ceilings...Buckminster paintings, silverware. Quite, classy, quirky. Don't tell the staff the year. Soak up the past. Anyone who's anyone has stayed here over the last 100 years.

Lovely character hotel with old world charm, was lovely to be greeted by the doorman. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Loved the old school charm! Perfect location, we were walking distance to everything. Highly recommend.

The staff is lovely, but the property is so dated, it cannot be called a five star hotel. This place is long overdue for a renovation. The hallways are dim. My bathroom had cracks in the tub. The room was an interior room with windows that were frosted over. The box springs on the bed were broken. The decorating was...

Huge rooms; interior decor which appears to be assembled from thrift sales. Imaginative use of contrasting and dissonant fabrics and woods. Sting in tail is to be charged €40 for paying a €5900 bill with a debt card. The place has charm and great location but is sadly in need of capital injection, which is unlikely from its Indonesian new...

Finally had the chance to stay in this historic hotel and weren't disappointed. Friendly, professional staff, lovely breakfast and great location for seeing Kinky Boots. Would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for quiet, and some old world charm.

I booked in on a flash sale 40% off. The site showed it as 5 Stars. We were very excited to be staying at a 5-Star Hotel. When we arrived, I noticed a musty smell and highly stained carpets in the lobby. The hotel is not very dated and is in extreme need of remodeling. The room was also dated...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
