we were delighted to get an early check in having flown in from Sydney, however it took follow up with front desk after waiting for the keys. Best soft pillows and bed - like sleeping in a cloud! And sparkling wine on arrival. Cricketer's Bar appeared pretty tired and grubby - so not worth going. Go to the Hyatt. Also...

Looking forward to the refurbishment. Service from staff was exceptional and building has great character. Area for improvement are the interiors as they appear dated and in need of renewal (especially bathrooms). Also unable to see the outside weather as windows were frosted.

The Victorian Suite was a dream to stay in - I think it was bigger than my first apartment! When I had issues with my phone the concierge was so quick to help, and the doorman was really convivial and engaging with my 5 year old. He wanted to stay there forever!

We stayed in a Windsor Suite. Room was very spacious and comfortable. Your Doorman's service in particular was exceptional. He was very friendly and always helpful. We really enjoyed our time there and will definitely be coming back. I travel a lot for work and will start staying here as well.

Visiting the Windsor again is a bit like coming home. Friendly staff, very comfy but just that little bit out of style and in need of a small refurb. Booked two rooms one fir my wife and myself the other for my daughters. Both very nice( we were given an upgrade due to Expedia points I think). Both spacious with...

Great location and lovely heritage feel. Unfortunately beds weren't very comfortable and our package was not explained. Free breakfast was missed on our booking although very promptly fixed, however we were not advised that we had free wifi included and I did not find out until the last day. Ended up using most of our phone data by then. I...

We stayed in the junior suite. It was magnificent. What amazed was that the room had great views and overlooked a busy intersection but inside it was so quiet. The charm and history of the place made it a very relaxing place. One Eleven dining was special. Loved the place, the friendliness, the elegance. Would definitely return.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
