There are a number of big screen TVs showing sport. The bar staff were friendly and drink prices reasonable with a decent range of options to choose from If you visit have a look at the lovely leadlight and coloured windows in the public bar.

I wouldn't recommend this 'hotel' to anyone. I used the '' as I wouldn't call this a hotel at all. To live here, you need to bear with the noise from the pub and from the street. Ppl scream and cars horn are acceptable as you are living next to the street, but the noise from the music playing from...

Good little pub its dark and dingy but a nice atmosphere. Big screens showing sport and you dont see crowds big enough to leave you lining up 10 minutes for s beer. I didnt eat but the table next to me ordered a pizza and it looked and smelt amazing. Right on edge of china town great location

If you are walking through Chinatown and feel thirsty pop into the Exford Hotel on the cnr of Little Bourke and Russell Street . The main bar is large and old style with the big TV,s etc but the atmosphere is great normally busy with a wide array of different types of people. The beers are a good range of...

A great location for a hostel-it is in the free tram zone and walking distance from key sights, shops, eateries and bars etc..and good for on a budget! The hostel itself was quiet most of the time, apart from weekend nights but that is expected being above a pub! The rooms are average but in winter they were very very...

The first thing that stands out about this place is that despite it being located in the heart of Melbourne's Chinatown it is your typical, old style, gundgy Australian pub and the one thing that it has is character. Okay, it isn't flash, but it is what I like in a pub, and that is its Australian pubishness. It does...

It is all very basic, but for $45 a night, this is what one can expect, especially given the very convenient location. It is situated on the Chinatown street above a British style pub. We were on the 3rd. Fairly noisy on weekends, but nothing a pair of ear plugs can't fix. You share bathrooms and shower facilities. No soap...

Nothing can beat that awesome location in the middle of the city centre. However, the hostel is not very clean (the duvets were disgusting and full of stains, the floors dirty and our room was never cleaned during our 6-day stay). The receptionist Kenny was super-friendly and gave us some great recommendations!

Located in the heart of the China town region, the facilities are good - showers particularly. The wi-fi was not free, as I stayed for less than a week. The staff were friendly, and offered good advice for getting around and what to do. The pub itself was a nice social area, although I was unhappy that the computers in...

I stayed at the Exford Hotel for two nights in a double room on the 3rd floor (top level) the room was an average size with a large cupboard, bed side tables, a mirror and a table and chair. The room was very clean. The staff were friendly. The bathrooms are dated but kept very clean. really good, cheap accommodation...

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Locals know that Chinatown is the tried and true place to eat before hitting the nightclub scene. The place simply buzzes, and the well-preserved buildings exude a sense of Imperial China stemming from immigration over a century ago. In restaurant after restaurant on Little Bourke Street, you'll find delicious dishes such as sizzling honeyed prawns, and value for your money. Stately matrons oversee family kitchens serving up age-old recipes. The lighting may be unromantic, the patrons loud, and the service no-nonsense, but the food is sensational.
