We stayed for 5 nights lovely spot close to city centre and the beautiful beach with amazing views across to Mahia is 2 min walk to the sand and waves, security was present over the festive season we stayed in family units and towels and fresh linen was easily accessed from the office, only let down was the 1 washing...

An older park that's been kept in reasonably good condition. We took a 2 bdr self-contained unit. Bedrooms were a little small but certainly adequate for their purpose. Indeed, those comments would apply to the entire experience. Sitting area was spacious and well laid out. Kitchen, with the two burner hob, was OK as was the half fridge. Very small...

We travelled down the Eastcape and saved the best until last. Waikanae Top 10 had it all. Fantastic site, approachable, friendly staff, immaculate amenities (even though the camp was full), and a big bonus-the Sunshine Brewery was only a short walk away. A camp that we will visit again.

What an awesome place to stay, right on the beach front and so close to town with about a 5 minute walk to the Main Street. The camp grounds and facilities were kept very clean and tidy. Swipe card access to use the bathrooms, kitchen, fridges and freezers so it felt very safe and secure. Sunsets were just beautiful on...

I stayed here over New Year - 2016/17 - I stayed with son and his wife and two children in a two bedroomed self contained flat. The flat was adequate but very small - but other friends stayed in onebedroomed flats and they were a lot better - a lot more room and not as tired. The overall size difference...

We stayed for just over a week with our family (5 adults and 1 child) in the beach Bach and it was wonderful, staff were friendly and attentive. Was lovely sleeping with the sound of the beach right outside. Our 4 year old was sorted with the play ground so close and also the peddle carts were a great hit!!...

Worst camp site in NZ so far. Highly overpriced. Tiny camp spots. Ugly compartments. The only nice thing is the view of the bay. The camping ground will prevail however, because there are rarely any alternatives around. We had free campsites that were better than this.

Recently stayed at this camp site for 2 nights and was pleasantly surprised of it's relaxed atmosphere and lack of children. (Without sounding too much like an old man yelling: "Get off my lawn!") Unlike other Top 10 sites we stayed, this one doesn't have as many facilities for children, so it seems to be less popular with families. It's...

Waikanae is one of NZs best holiday parks. Most we have been to are clean, tidy and well run. Waikanae is a step better with playground, beach and tennis court right there. The real icing on the cake is it is only walking distance from the main centre of the city. We will stay longer next time. Nice sociable campers...

Unfortunately we were only there for one night. It is right by a gorgeous beach & has all the facilities you could wish for. We stayed in a 2 bedroom unit which was clean tidy & comfortable. Plenty on the grounds to keep the 4yr old entertained. There is a cafe takeaway about 5 minutes away with plenty of choice...
