Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Absolutely disgusting and when booking in asked for $100 bond. We had already paid $150 for the room, which by the way was disgusting and the other people staying there seemed very permanent and dodgey, decided not to stay, as I can probably say if you ran a blue light over the bed ..... DO NOT RECOMMEND unless you're a drug dealer.

My self, my wife and our 1 year old daughter stayed here for 1night. We were staying from out of town, to do some shopping in Hamilton. On our arrival we were shocked to see most rooms were occupied by people from ministry of social well fare. Outside our room was covered in smoke buds. We didn’t get any sleep, people from outside our room from 10pm to early hours were playing music in there rooms, in there cars. Yelling and screaming, kids running outside up and down, cars coming and going, then at around 5am someone knocked on the door demanding cash that we apparently owed them. We didn’t open the door. We couldn’t wait to leave in the morning. We felt extremely tired and exhausted when we left and will never ever return.

Room Tip: None, worst case ask for a room right down the back. We never got that even tho it was requested.

We had the unfortunate experience of staying here on 22 Oct, a Tuesday. We arrived early evening having had a huge day of travel to get there and another big day with business meetings and travel the next day. The first warning was on checking in when we were expected to give our credit card details in order to cover a $200 bond in case we "damaged our room". We have NEVER encountered that before.

seems that guests have to follow too many 'company policies'. this place used to be great. not any more. the room had a horrible cigarette smell; so they sprayed air freshener upon my complaint. the brown bathroom linen needs to go.

I had previously stayed here and it was fine. This time around, accompanied by my family, was terrible. Kids playing everywhere outside unsupervised by parents. Other guests sitting around smoking. Room not cleaned after first night. Unit was clean but it did not feel safe here with dodgy looking cars pulling up at all hours. It seems as though people are living here full time, people that I would not choose to spend my holiday around. Maybe winz housing? If this is the case, a note should be put on website. Not happy at all and not a good look for your business.

I stayed for a night with my partner on a short trip to Hamilton. While pulling in to the motel car park, we were surprised to see so many children playing in the car park. It seems that families actually live there long term. Our unit was large and very clean with parking directly outside. The unit had a combined sleeping (queen bed)/eating/cooking/lounge area, a separate 2nd bedroom and a bathroom. The only window was facing the car park (make sure you close the blinds!). We didn't hear any noises after 10pm and slept well.

Came over to Hamilton for the weekend & was a little disappointed with the motor lodge. It seemed like people/families were actually living there & it didnt feel overly safe. Kids were all over the driveway & i had to be extra careful as they were always playing behind the cars in the carpark. Even 1 young girl on her bike was directly behind my car when I was reversing & her mother was on the phone. On the plus side the rooms were spacious. Dont think we will stay there again though.

Nice large unit (family unit). Crisp, white bedsheets and washable blankets that were white as well. Very, very clean. Bathroom was spotless. Water pressure in shower was amazing. Love that they had refillable bottles in the bathroom of shampoo, etc. instead of wasteful throwaway ones. Very friendly owners. Some noise from other units (just people walking by) but a really good sleep overall. Will come back.

Positives - it was a very quiet place to stay given we saw the amount of people who were staying there. This was good for us who was a couple only needing a night passing through Hamilton. The place was clean and spacious. Staff was friendly, but was hard to see around the place. Challenges - the bathroom was quite dated in comparison to photos. The rooms are very close together which meant parking was a bit of a nightmare going out after check out. The room also was very dark, barely any light in the rooms being that the rooms are quite close together and narrow but long. Would come back to this place if needed a cheap place to stay in Hamilton again.

So.. we attempted to stay here, but after discovering dirty sheets with blood on, then confronting the staff about it, who was so argumentative and incredibly hard to deal with, we left, no refund, no effort to deal with our concern, just rudeness. I've never dealt with such an issue, it is clea, the sheets had not been changed. Disgusting! Shower was terrible, price was $175, we had to pay extra because we went in 2 hours earlier, not worth it, brown towels and bad bad management, staff didn't speak the best English, was shocking to be honest... Please be aware. We tried to work with staff to come to an agreement, but they blamed the sheet company. Ridiculous.
