Nice hotel within easy walking distance to town. No porter service but the person on reception took our bags upstairs upon being asked to. 2 queen beds, lovely updated bathroom, water pressure was great, power points weren't in a good position for CPAP machine had to push bed towards dressing table.. TV wouldn't turn on so rang reception but after... More

The hotel ticks all the boxes for the basic that you would expect, however a bit of paint, new beds and a revamp of the curtains would work miracles. The walls are very thin, so hopefully your neighbours keep the snorring down to a minimum. The staff is very friendly and is very willing to help.

Check in was quick. Most of the staff we met were pleasant and helpful. Room was spacious, clean and quiet. Beds and pillows were very comfy. Bedding and towels clean and of good quality. Bathroom was large with good shower but very cold. Had fridge and kettle with good quality tea and coffee. WiFi was sporadic, but free if you... More

I stayed here for two days when I visited Paihia. They crammed 3 beds in a tiny little room. When we first got there, the rooms were not even finished. There were no sheets in the beds and no towels. At first. This was 2pm. We need get breakfast. It was definitely a budget hotel. Probably wouldn't stay here again.

Very basic room but lovely bedding and super shower. Don't bother with the breakfast. It's very basic. Pop into town, an easy walk and there's a super breakfast bar there. The room has no enteral heating but does have a fan heater which worked well. It was winter when we were there to be fair.

Good rooms, basic but functional. Ample parking. Staff could have been more helpful. But over all value for money. Its a Budget Hotel, nothing fancy. Close to the main town with shopping & restaurants with in walking distance.

As many others have said, the Tanoa is pretty much a budget hotel but, that said, it is absolutely fine. The outstanding feature was definitely the staff service. We arrived late on Saturday night for a one-night stay and there was a muck-up with our booking (our fault) and this was quickly and efficiently sorted out by phone with the... More
