Being our first time in New Zealand, this was one of many stops in the North Island. Passing through Rotorua, we found the Astray Motel being very competitive for price. Location wise was great, only disadvantage was not being able to park on site having requested a space through booking. However, everything else was satisfactory. Many thanks.

We stayed at this motel for 3 nights. The room is clean and tidy and also has a small kitchen though you cannot cook, there's a common kitchen that you can use. Our room can accommodate 4 persons. The location is perfect and very central. It's quite close i-Site, Night Market (on every Thursday), and even Whakarewarewa within walking distance...

Traveling with my sister who has never been to NZ I thought to give her a backpackers experience. So I booked one night in a private ensuite room, so ultimately not a real backpackers experience but I HIGHLY recommend. You cannot beat the price AND wifi works. The room was small but come on how much time are you really...

The location of the motel is great, easy access to everything in Rotorua. The staff were friendly and answered all the questions we had about the area and even gave us many useful tips. The room was clean and tidy, although a bit too small.

Great location, very central in Rotorua. Friendly staff who got us a discount for one of the local maori experiences. Having an on-site laundry was great, too. Shower was good and the wifi was good too. Bed comfortable enough aside from the pillows. Somewhat bizarrely, there was a TV not only in the main living room but in each bedroom....

We stayed overnight for one night and were pleased with everything. The staff member at reception was SO friendly and he gave us tips on activities in the area. The room was clean and the wifi worked well.

Perfect for an overnight stay. The room was clean and had what we needed although much smaller than the photos make it out to be. Good sized bathroom. Really friendly and helpful staff. Great location, not 5 stars as the bathroom sink was really small and difficult to fill water bottle from

Exceeded expectations. Julie (?) and Lee bent over backwards to ensure that I had what I needed. The internet was great. Location, as others have noted, also great. It's listed as a micro-hotel in Lonely Planet by the previous owners. I see that the "micro" has been dropped from the name. While it was fun for me a a solo...

Staying in Rotorua over the weekend. The place is nice tidy and quiet. The location for this place is fantastic and is right in the heart of the city center. Close to pretty much everything. Chilled ambiance with very friendly staff. Recommend.

Can't express enough what a joy it was to stay here and the level of service was outstanding. Hotel under new management past few months from a couple from China. Both husband and wife went way beyond expected to help me multiple times during my stay. Room I had was small but very clean and comfortable. My room had microwave,...
