Modern furnished and very comfortable rooms with lots of thoughtful touches. 10 minutes walk to the lake side. You can smell the sulphur! Not to far for Hobbiton and excellent Te Puia Maori centre. More upmarket than most of the local hotels. Downsides - very slow lifts and wifi restricted to 30 minutes in the lobby only.

Nice, clean rooms however not the best value for money. For a "superior double room" it was really small with very limited amenities. However we absolutely loved the pool and spa areas. The heated indoor pool is great, suitable for the whole family, and during the warmer days the roof partially opens up which is awesome! Most of the staff...

Brilliantly situated this is a modern hotel and our welcome for our two night stay was warm and efficient. Room was good had to pay for wifi although 30 mins free in lobby. Disappointed by the dining room loud and noisy with a low ceiling made for claustrophobia and I encountered the most inedible sausages in the world. Buffet style...

Stayed 3 nights whilst on a 6 week tour of the islands. Very nice and spacious room, on the top floor. Quiet and well appointed. Fully intended to use the gym and pool, but fun ( rafting) got in the way. However when inspected, all equipment was available and in good order, it's just that the spirit was weak! Hotel...

On arrival the first impression of the hotel was very good. Clean, nice decor and friendly staff. We booked for 3 nights and we're pleased that we had a view over the ploynesian spa and lawns however as mentioned by previous reviewers our air conditioning didn't work and it was unbearable hot and airless in the room overnight. The vent...

From what we saw, we were in the best hotel for the area. The hotel is right next to the shops and restaurants. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. We also went in the mineral pools which was pretty cool. Overall very happy with the experience.

We found the hotel staff to be fantastic, willing to help with local knowledge and if possible accommodate reasonable requests. We didn't eat at the hotel (the local town centre is a very short walk away and has some great options) but snacks at the bar were nice. The bar does some nice drinks but does close very early, which...

The hotel has great location, nice ambient and pool. But as other reviewers have mentioned, the room has noisy and ineffective air conditioner. Rarely we stayed in hotel that have such poor air conditioner. Although the bed was comfortable, it's so noisy that I couldn't sleep.

We stayed one night at the Millennium Hotel as part of a two week coach tour of New Zealand. The hotel is situated in a good area with nearby shops, restaurants, and a large supermarket. Our room was quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was extremely crowded since there were several other groups besides us in the hotel, but the buffet was...

The location is decent, the bed was comfortable, and the luggage porter was very helpful. The main problem is the poor physical condition. Our room door looks like a tiger clawed it for days. The interior locking chain is broken. One of two elevators was not working. The fitness center was extremely hot with poor equipment. It takes 2-3 minutes...
