I had never stayed here in all the time I have been to New Plymouth, but it was one of the only remaining places available when I booked so close to Easter. Th staff were very friendly and attentive, they were always happy to help and were polite. However, the hotel itself is very dated and is in need of a makeover. Our hotel room stunk of stale cigarettes and in the second room we had booked the tiles in the shower were all broken. I wouldn’t stay here again, there are much nicer places to stay in New Plymouth.
The bed and shower are great but getting in to it is a bit hard to climb over the side of the bath to get in there. The room was clean and was aired out but the room is looking old it could do with a refresh.
Stayed at Plymouth for a couple of days while my darling worked out of New Plymouth. Room very spacious and spotlessly clean. Very nice to have an opening window plus aircon plus a ceiling fan. Bed 8/10 for comfort. Bathroom very nice. Close to the coastal walkway and central New Plymouth. Adequate gymand very nice saltwater pool. Spa was nice but needs a meaningful clean with somebuild up of body yuckies. We used the restaurant for room service one night and it was very tasty. Would stay again in a second.
The Taranaki Property Investors Assn (of which I am currently immediate past-president) has been using the Plymouth International for our monthly public events for the past two years. We get top class facilities and service from this hotel and are most unlikely to change venue. There is a good choice of meeting room sizes. The facilities we enjoy using are powerpoint projector, big screen, surround sound, portable microphones. The staff are able to respond quickly to any requirements. Water carafes and glasses are always provided, also separate top table for speaking panellists, and a front of house table and lectern for laptop and guest speaker.
Dated and overpriced. It was okay but very expensive for what it was. Not up to 4 star standard. Our spa bath didn't work and the room certainly needed a better clean. The balcony was dirty, cramped and unusable.
Plymouth International is a disappointment! We paid 2 rooms for $400, but ended up walking out and transferring to Novotel. The aircon in both rooms were not working. We asked for immediate fix as my son has asthma and hot temperature is one of his triggers. The staff couldn’t fix and won’t give a refund. Over a week ago, we got in touch with the hotel Manager to lodge the complain, she offered a credit, but never sent it. Thanks heaps to Novotel for accomodating us in short notice and providing complimentary breakfast!
Second time staying here and both times I have been astounded by the excellent customer service from ALL staff in ALL areas of this hotel. Check in staff are so welcoming and friendly. Had breakfast the lady again beautiful…made my day. There was a buffet breakfast but all I needed was eggs bene…no problems we can make that for you…thank you chef 🙏 bar staff equally as accommodating and welcoming. Nothing was a problem her at all!! Our room, a suite, clean modern and lovely. We highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be returning.
I travel heaps for work when delivering training but this place is by far outstanding for their service, they go way beyond for you and nothing is any trouble, facilities are amazing and the food is awesome, accommodation is also great and comfortable, even the owners take time to talk to you, I would highly recommend this place and I will be back
We hosted our annual dinner for 100+. The Plymouth were fantastic hosts and very well organised. The meal planning, table layout and dietaries were all made it easy by our coordinator. The food was great and good value. Will book again.
Love love love this hotel. 10/10. Inspired and tastefully done. The staff are really nice and helpful. The pool is amazing and the courtyard garden exquisite. Good parking. Good value. We will definitely be back.
