We stayed in the honeymoon suite, which is separate from the main house. It is a beautifully appointed room, with all amenities and a spa bath. The host, Becky, was perfect: attentive, interesting, and knowledgeable. She cooked lovely breakfasts, and her company was also great. Thank you Becky for your hospitality and making our stay in Taupo memorable.

Luxurious comfortable B&B with wonderfully welcoming and attentive host, Becky. Ideal "dress circle" location, within easy reach of Taupo shops/ restaurants, golf courses (Kinloch, Wairakei) and Wai-o-Tapu Geothermal Wonderland.

The view over Lake Taupo was breathtaking. We stayed in the separate unit because it was much more than a room great space beautifully appointed and all those little extras. Many thanks to Becky for making a stay so memorable

First time in a B&B. Becky was the highlight for me. A very lovely lady who is a natural hostess. The weather wasn't the best but we still had a lovely time in Taupo which was the meeting point for our group.

Thanks so much for your feedback. I agree, Becky has a lovely nature - she must have, we've been married for 37 years :-)

We had the best time staying at this lodge. Spectacular views over lake taupo and rooms were super comfortable. Breakfast by Rob was amazing. Would not hesitate to stay here again. Highly recommended! Location was excellent, close to town and all the attractions.

Our first experience in a lodge. Rob was very friendly and made us feel welcome. Loved the breakfast and conversation with him. The room with a view of the lake was spectacular. Would like to stay again but in the honeymoon cottage next time. Heading off to Napier and hope to find a similar place to stay😊

Chris and Diane, thanks so much for choosing Tauhara Sunrise as your very first b&b/lodge experience. It was a pleasure hosting you, and yes, I thought you might be captivated by the Chalet d'Amour (honeymoon cottage). It's a very special place. We do hope to see you back here sometime. Best wishes for the rest of your road trip.

Had a wonderful stay here. The bed was comfy, the bath and other accommodations were terrific. The McEwens, owners and operators of the lodge, are wonderful folks and very accommodating. Mrs. McEwen is also a skilled masseuse. Highly recommend.

Stayed 2 nights in the cottage. This was like a boutique hotel - beautifully fitted out and and amazing views through the picture window over the lake to Taupo. Our host (Becky) served breakfast with a Tex-Mex twist - she was originally from Austin, Texas - different and delicious. Complimentary wine was provided in the 'fridge and before dinner drinks...

Location, room, furnishings, views across the lake and to the "sleeping lady", breakfast but, above all, the welcome extended by Becky is exceptional. And do not miss a massage from Becky. As good as you will get anywhere.

This boutique B&B is a beautiful cottage that overlooks Lake Taupo. We arrived in the evening and managed to catch a glimpse of the sunset over Taupo - which was unbelievable. The room we were allocated was large and comfortable. There is common pantry on the ground level shared with one other room, which didn't bother us at all. While...
