Taupo was FULL, and our booking somewhere else was double booked. Fortunately, Tony at "The Lake" had a room and we are so pleased. Friendliest service we have ever had at any hotel in New Zealand. Clean room, heaps of space, decent 40" TV with 4 channels of Sky Tony was very friendly, pointed me in the right direction for...

This would be the best motel I have ever stayed in. The hospitality of the hosts was amazing. The check in was effortless. Every thing about our stay has been fantastic. Even the morning paper delivered to the door. I would definitely recommend this motel.

i really enjoyed the night. The suite had some most excellent mid-century design furniture - but provided everything you need and expect for a comfortable, relaxing stay. And a very friendly welcome. Will never stay anywhere else in Taupo again.

We stayed here for 1 night while traveling south. We had a nice big room with fridge, microwave, tea coffee and everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Situated in a central part of town close to everything you'll need while you stay like restaurants, info centre. There was a little bit of noise coming from the next room whch...

Great location, friendly manager, nice retro style accommodation! We were given many tips for the area including some discount vouchers by the owner. That started our Taupo stay on a great note. The rooms are spacious and we loved the retro look. If we are ever around in taupo NZ again - we will for sure be returning!!!

We stayed there for 3 nights. The owner was really helpful and upgraded us from a studio to 1 bedroom. On the second day he took us to an quirky arty restaurant for breakfast which we would never have found as we didn't have a car and he took us to the bus station at the end of our stay....

Quiet. Quirky - 70s theme works well. Excellent hosts with knowledge and recommendations - The Brantry restaurant was excellent. Great value - my in laws stayed in the "sleep out" which was cool. And did I mention quiet? We've stayed in Taupo a few times now but this was most peaceful by far.

We stayed just one night, and felt like we missed out a bit on the good facilities here. We got "upgraded" to one of the rooms up front with full kitchen, separate bedroom/living areas, etc. Not sure why they put us in here - we certainly didn't need it staying just one night, but it was nice to have the...

We stayed at the Lake Motel as part of a group. The rooms were fantastic, with great interesting furniture pieces, spacious, and clean. The in door out door flow to the back garden was nice, and the place is quiet as it's not on the main lake front rd. We had a relaxing holiday, Taupo is a great destination with...
