We stayed in a Terrace Room for one night - this room didn't have a view but that wasn't an issue for us - it was just an overnight stay before catching the early ferry. The reception staff were friendly and professional. The location is good for city sights and shops. The foyer is spacious and impressive. Valet parking -...

Comfortable and great location. Nice toiletries and linens enough space for 2 adults and 2 small children sharing the double beds. Be aware if you are in a hurry to get down to Lampton Quay in the morning that the commuter traffic builds up at the lifts, very minor. Walking distances for us: 10mins to Parliament, 5mins to Cable Car,...

We had a stopover in Wellington on our camping holiday in New Zealand. It was great because the staff helped us with a place to park our van for the night. The hotel was great because we were close to the city sites for our one day of sightseeing. Buffet breakfast was delightful and staff exceptionally helpful. It was a...

Staff were lovely and very helpful. Room was a bit noisy, on the road side of the building and seemed to have a broken latch on the window. Ammenties were good, snack bar etc. Would stay again though.

Cleanliness of bathroom not great - three long hairs of back of toilet seat and one in bath. Also a bit surprised to find out we could not get drink or food when we came back from concert at 10.30pm. Staff friendly and bed comfortable.

Overall IO enjoyed stayoing at the James Cook Hotel, the staff was friendly, the room clean and the location is great, lot of things are in walking distance. Thre things I would bring up is that some parts of the building could deserve maintenance, 500mb of internet is outdated and the breakfast is rather expensive for the quality of products...

We stayed in this hotel with our young for 2 nights over the Christmas and New Year period,. We've always chosen to stay here because its location is smack bang in the middle of town. Its location is actually perfect for most of the attractions in Wellington you might won't to visit. Its also ridiculously easy to get on the...

Fabulous room and the restaurant was great. All aspects of the accomodation were clean and comfortable. Noise level was almost nothing, didn't need earplugs! Access to Lambton Quay is convenient. Car parking service was excellent.

High recommended. The Grand of WN still has it -- modern elements having taken nothing from the charm of the place. Very helpful staff and quiet rooms well above the traffic. My room had a good view and I think the same could be said for most rooms higher up. Either way, you're only minutes walk from the CBD and...
