From the outside you can’t fault the hotel and service and location, especially when it comes to the bellman (porter)
Great help with bag service, parking the car “multiple times” and erecting the baby cot.

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights and were very impressed. Although it is pretty central we were not bothered by outside noise at all. Room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Kitchenette adequately equipped and we did self cater one night and all...More
This was our second stay at The Bolton.
The location is great for business or pleasure. Spotlessly clean and consistently a great night’s sleep. We’ve not sampled a breakfast as there are too many good eateries in Wellington to eat in the hotel. Effortless and...More

Hi Jack. I'm pretty sure it stops near the train station which is only a 5 minute walk from the hotel. You can catch the bus which is very cheap to the train station from the airport then walk. very easy and cheap.
There is a bus stop 50 or 60 meters from the front door of the hotel. The Wellington railway station is less than 10 minutes walk. Te Papa is a 20 minute walk. We look forward to having you come and stay with... More

$30 a day valet parking, but we stayed across a weekend and mostly avoided this by leaving it on the metered parking in the street outside. This was free overnight, but did mean either feeding the meter by 9am or moving the car to avoid being fined. Across a holiday long weekend this worked fine for us. There's also a public car park right across the street with cheaper hourly and overnight rates. Ultimately it depends on how much hassle you are prepared to put up with to avoid the $30 fee.
