We need travel from north until south of new zealand and this by far the best stop after some earthquake hiccup during earlier part of the trip. Very friendly host, comfy accommodation, away from the hustle and bustle so we really enjoy the stay. My daughter love animals & mrs lorna farmer .. haha Breakfast was awesome, large portion and... We actually stayed in March 2015 but the latest month i could choose on trip advisor was August. So anyway, we had a good time. Lorna showed us the animals and we fed the sheep, chickens and alpacas. I still remember my 2 year old sitting on the ground, surrounded by sheep he was feeding by hand. They also have... More

Over the last 6 weeks or so we have travelled widely across Australia and New Zealand, staying in all manner of accommodation. This one takes the crown! Fantastic place to stay. We had the whole of the first floor of the property to ourselves with a lovely balcony on which to sit and enjoy the very welcome cup of tea... More

Flying into Christchurch, it was so easy to collect a car and drive the short distance to Miners Arms Farmstay. The accomodation was very comfortable, clean and well equipped and the tea and homemade biscuits most welcome. Lorna made us feel very much at home and advised us of where to eat close by. After a very good night's sleep,breakfast,... More

This was the last stop on our tour of New Zealand and it was a really lovely way to round it out. We had a lot of fun meeting all the animals and Lorna was a great hostess. Breakfast was delicious with fresh eggs from their chickens and homemade preserves. Ideally situated very close to Christchurch and the airport, we... More

Pleasant self contained accomodation in the owners house a short drive from the airport. Excellent breakfast. Made to feel very welcome and the conducted tour of their small holding was fun. Separate sitting room and wifi were appreciated.

Thank you (rather belatedly) for your review. I'm so glad you enjoyed staying here and hope you had a great holiday in NZ. It's 30 degrees here today, but Hampshire will be a touch chillier, I suppose. More

The minute we stepped into the door, the aroma from the kitchen smells really home. Lorna showed us to our rooms and they were decorated right down to the details. English style was tastefully eminent. The balcony led to a view of green pasture and free roaming animals even in that winter. Breakfast was delightfully wholesome, with homemade jams, toasted...
