I loved thus hotel. It is a historic office building converted to a hotel and it was awesome. Our suite had a full kitchen and living room downstairs and bedroom and bath upstairs. The only downside is there is no air conditioning but they were very accommodating and brought fans for our use.

Dear X8348PRmaryh, Thank you for taking the time to comment on your recent stay at Heritage Christchurch. It is a pleasure to read that you found the hotel was awesome! We do find that the apartment style Suites, with all of the facilities that we offer, are very popular for its large and unusual size and we continuously work to...

Nice location and rooms, although no air conditioning. But there was some sort of dance party in the area. Loud music permeated our room all night, only ceasing at 5am. Worst nights sleep ever. No attempt to do anything or apologise from the hotel. Wifi performance was very slow.

I stayed in a Suite on the second floor and this has everything you could want. While this place is not cheap you do get a lot. It's ideally located in the heart of the city. While the view of buildings waiting to be demolished is a bit depressing, in a few years time it will be back to normal....

Dear Baldrick_the_Fourth Thank you for taking time to submit feedback on TripAdvisor after your stay this month. I was pleased to read you enjoyed our spacious suites and friendly helpful staff. The hotel has been part of the Christchurch hospitality industry since 1996 and survived the 2011 seismic events to emerge as one of the few remaining working heritage buildings...

The twin bedroom apartment we had at the Heritage was comfortable and clean. The hotel is in the converted Old Government Building. The corridors have a rather austere feeling but the rooms were good. The hotel is adjacent to the badly damaged cathedral. Our room overlooked a demolition site, mainly high rise buildings. The hotel is central to all landmarks...

I had good service before, but not nearly as good as in the Heritage. Their friendly staff will always be there on an outlook to help you in any way required. The hotel is located in the city centre, so most things you need outside of it are accessible. The beds in the rooms are really comfy, and there is...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Christchurch is a long way from the Mediterranean - nevertheless, the opulence of an Italian High Renaissance Palazzo awaits you at the Heritage Christchurch. Designed by Joseph Clark Maddison and opened in 1913, the hotel is listed as a category one building on the Historic Places Trust Register, reflecting its status as a building of national significance. The hotel's grand design is fitting: after all, Christchurch is regarded as the Garden City, and is regarded internationally for its culture and refinement. ... more   less
