We really enjoyed our stay at the Merivale Manor. The building was built in the 1860s as the home of a business man and many of the features of the period are still evident. The interior has been completed to a very high standard in keeping with the period of the property. The room was spacious and comfortable. It was...

A double stay, on the way to the glaciers and a final night before the flight home. The original Manor in the name gives the whole place a delightful feel, the rooms are very comfortable and the little extra of a couple of slices of bread for our breakfast was very much appreciated.

This motel is one of many along this road, about a 20 minute walk from the city centre and 7 minutes from the Merivale shops. Our room was very comfortable and had a good shower and a jetted bath. The kitchenette has a 2 ring hob and microwave but limited cooking utensils. Not much drawer space for clothing, only a...

Our hosts, Brian and Bridget, were friendly, accommodating, and helpful. I would rate Merivale Manor as the cleanest place we have stayed in New Zealand! You will not be disappointed! Location is convenient to shopping and touring both. Merivale is on a bus route; however, it is quiet and safe. Off street parking is provided. Do not hesitate to book.

Excellently looked after Hotel Stayed in the Webbe suite in the main house. Beautifully laid out and well equipped. Owners were very welcoming and helpful. Well positioned for Central Christchurch and facilities. Air con would have been good but it was extremely hot at the time, about 28 degrees which I am told was unusual

My husband and I pre-booked our room and stayed at one of the rooms on the ground floor, nearer to the reception, instead of the ones near the main road. It wasn't as noisy as what we expected and it was convenient for us to get to our vehicles just parked outside. However, there are limited parking spaces up front,...

My family and I stayed at Peacock Suite which is located in the main house on the second floor. The room was nice, neat and specious. The staff were nice and friendly. The breakfast was as described on their website. We ended up buying our own breakfast from the supermarket and that was not an issue for us. We would...

This was our first motel stay in New Zealand and a very pleasant experience it was. Warren greeted us warmly on arrival and was very friendly. We had pre-booked a room in a modern annexe building facing the main road, but Warren said we could avoid traffic noise if we went instead for a fine room in the historic manor...

Had a 4 night stay here and couldn't fault it. Bridgette and Brian had just taken charge that day and we happened to be their first guests. Very friendly and informative welcome. The room and facilities had everything we needed, and was spotlessly clean. The motel is close to the restaurants and shops in Merivale which was great and about...

Stayed there for one night, it's a nightmare. First of all, the noise from the Papanui road is immense, one of the busiest road in CHC, cars passing at high speed all the time ,even at midnight. And the double glazed window was just useless. Then, the "full breakfast " issue. I booked through Expedia, which says full breakfast was...
