We had a ground floor garden Room. It was clean and very comfortable. The staff are friendly. The best advice is to visit the beautiful Botanical Gardens over the road. Approx a 2 minute walk away. This is a motel style hotel approx 20 minute walk into the centre of Dunedin. Thanks

I stayed at this hotel only overnight but could not find any fault. The room is spacious and clean. The bathroom is sparkling although it only has shower and no bath. The dinner was perfectly cooked local salmon, the best I had in New Zealand. I will stay here again.

The beds were comfortable and the hotel was centrally located. However, the room had a noticeable pungent smell. Fortunately, they gave us an air freshner in the bathroom which we almost exhausted. The room looked very tired, old carpets, old beds and what is with Mercure chain in NZ with no air conditioning again. However, if you look past all...

This hotel is pretty well placed for a short stay in Dunedin. We arrived after a drive from Christchurch and found a friendly welcome. The hotel room was pretty standard with 2 queen beds, and decent bathroom, all very clean. Food in the restaurant was fine although service a bit slow at times but always very friendly. It is a...

We had a 2 night stay here which coincided with some of the best weather we experienced whilst in NZ but unfortunately it was one of the few places that had no air conditioning which made sleeping a bit difficult. Nicole on reception was quick to find us a fan when we asked which helped. There was also a problem...

This hotel offers value for money. Hotel is located opposite the Botanic Garden but not close to the city centre. Rooms are pleasantly furnished, comfy bed, good showe and restaurant food was fairly good although the buffet choice in the restaurant was limited. Friendly staff and good ambiance.

Great room., quiet and clean. The grounds are amazing. We walked into town for dinner. Took about 20 minutes. We even stayed an extra night. There are some closer restaurants nearby. Free parking available

Great Hotel in a great city. The room was at very high standard and we felt very comfortable after many previous nights in the motels. No walking distance to the town Center, so without car would be difficult.

Many thanks for taking the time to review our hotel. Your comments are most appreciated. We disagree about the walking distance to town. For readers, it's a 20 to 25 minute leisurely stroll on flat terrain to the city centre (The Octagon) or a couple of minutes on public transport (1 block away from the hotel (approx 3 minutes walk)....

Standard Mercure hotel with all standard amenities. Helpful staff -I actually was in town earlier and planning to camp around the town and hotel staff was more than happy to keep my excess luggage in storage Hotel is about 10 mins walk from the city centre I stayed in a double room on the ground floor. the hotel restaurant is...

Great first impressions in a peaceful tended garden setting. Rooms, although a little dated in decor, were clean and comfortable. Location is ideal if you have a car, with plenty of onsite parking, but not necessary - the 25 minute walk to the centre of Dunedin was pleasant and buses are also readily available. I enjoyed the onsite restaurant for...
