We spent 2 nights at the Convent as part of our road trip around NSW. It is a character property and so could be seen as being old fashioned by some. Our room was on the first floor and was clean and a good size facing the front of the property. Outside there was a terrace which was shared by...

I booked this place on a recommendation from a friend who probably hadn't been there for 5-10 years. It was a surprise voucher for my husbands birthday so I asked for the best room that they had. At $500 a night for 3 nights, I'd have to say the standard was rather poor. I understand the heritage of the building...

We had the pleasure of celebrating our 27th Wedding anniversary at the beautiful Convent in the Hunter Valley. Our room was gorgeous and had everything we needed. The decor was fitting of a building of its age and era. All the staff were friendly and accommodating. We will definitely return.

We are staying three nights. It's not cheap. The pool is full of insects and the same wet towels are still there since Thursday. It would have been great if our room had been cleaned. Staff are lovely . Is there a manager? It doesn't seem so. I feel the room rate does not reflect the service received . Beautiful...

We stayed at this hotel around 10 years ago when it had been newly decorated and furnished to an outstanding standard which captured the essence of the old building and we really enjoyed it. The Convent still retains its wonderful character and appeal, the gardens, pool and tennis court were all immaculately maintained, as was the exterior of the building....

Large ground floor room with attractively old fashioned bathroom and access to lovely shared verandah. Perfectly respectable food and helpful staff. Nice pool. Free internet access would be like going back to 1990, paid access just about reasonable - 3Mbps maximum. Connection reasonably efficient. Good place from which to explore Hunter Valley.

Just spent one night at the property, and not nearly what I expected from the reviews. We had driven up from the Blue Mountains and hit up some wineries during the day, and then checked into the hotel. We unfortunately were put in the room under the stairs, and decided that we'd take the upgrade option for some more room....

We only stayed for one night but absolutely loved it. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and very clean. This is more of a boutique hotel. We loved it, but of course you won't have the valet or the luggage service or the in-room dining as in bigger 5* hotels, so if you are a service addict, then maybe this hotel...

My partner and I stayed here for a wedding at Roberts, and I've been wanting to stay here for years, so was very excited. The convent and surrounding grounds are incredibly beautiful and well maintained, and overall it was pleasant stay due to family and friends and a couple of lovely staff. However, they missed the mark (especially for their...

Front desk reception was indifferent, room adequate though the surface of the toilet seat was crazed and peeling off. I have never seen a public toilet in poor condition! We took a stroll along the pretty drive but the stench of the sullage pit drove us back. Next came breakfast. No fruit, cereal, danishes or yoghurt to choose from, indeed...
