Front desk reception was indifferent, room adequate though the surface of the toilet seat was crazed and peeling off. I have never seen a public toilet in poor condition! We took a stroll along the pretty drive but the stench of the sullage pit drove us back. Next came breakfast. No fruit, cereal, danishes or yoghurt to choose from, indeed... More

This property is stunning. We were married not far from here in October and chose The Convent to stay the night before and on our wedding night. The bridal suite was the perfect setting for getting ready in especially with the 2 big double doors out to a balcony on each side of the room opened up. The views from... More

Last weekend we booked out the hotel for a wedding. The booking was made 14 months ago. My wife and I have stayed here twice before and love the place and our recent stay was for four nights. Not only is it in a sublime setting with beautiful grounds, but it is such a perfect place to sit back and... More

We booked a "Premier Double Room, 1 King Bed, Terrace, Vineyard View"....supposedly one of the better rooms. On arrival, we could not check in immediately as we were a bit early, which was fine. We were advised of the room...and were totally stunned as to the location of it. On the ground floor, under the stairs, looking onto the car... More

The moment that our rental car turned off Halls Road and onto the driveway leading into The Convent Hunter Valley, my heart skipped a beat. What was in front of me was absolutely beautiful; a long stretch of driveway perfectly lined with tall, lush green trees and at the end of it stood a majestic Victorian-style manor house. Built in... Booked a high tea at the restaurant that was $42.00 for a basic one without wine. I thought this was a little high in price but knew the venue was lovely. When we went to pay were told the price was $65.00 now and they also no longer subscribe to the entertainment gold card since new owners took over 2... More

Driving up the dirt road, the building is a sight to behold. Phones are whipped out and snaps are taken before we even park the car. The order of the day is : breath the air, drink in the serenity... then keep sippin' the wine, in that order. The two hour drive is a wizz making the arrival at our... More

We had our wedding at Peppers and Circa in September. While we absolutely love the place and have had awesome experiences there in the past, the new management falls short.. We were greeted with complete incompetence upon checking in to pur bridal suite. The concierge had no idea what he was doing and tried to place us in three different... More

I stayed at the Peppers convent during my trip to the hunter valley in July. The location, was simply beautiful.. It was quite convenient, the parking was free, and right next to the hotel. My friend and I booked the Superior suite, the main disappointment was that all the rooms are pretty much the same so paying for a superior... More
