Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

On arrival there were pot holes and weeds. We were shown to our room up very steep stairs and clutter to a very basic room, not a motel! The bathroom door did not close, there was rubbish under the bed, hairs and grime in the bathroom and bedside cushions, cloths and chair cover were stained. We have photos to confirm this.

A lovely old building, nicely restored and furnished. Our room was very comfortable. Our flight was delayed, but Sonny was very patient and understanding despite the late hour of our arrival. Helped us with our luggage and parking. Would definitely recommend.

The Mews is a 140+ YO house. It’s a quirky, clean boutique type English BnB without the breakfast. The outdoor deck and kitchen is not something you see every stay. If you prefer the corporate hotel, this place is not for you. Sonny is helpful and nice to chat with. I would stay here again. Its relaxing.

Our one-night stay here didn't get off to a good start, as my partner arrived first, an hour before me. She rang the bell and phoned the given number without any response, even though the owner's wife was inside. She had to wait 15 minutes on the doorstep before being let in (accompanied by profuse apologies). Things did improve a bit from there. The place has a cluttered, quirky, old-world charm, very like some British B&Bs I've stayed in (though no breakfast on offer here). If you prefer standardised corporate suites, the Mews is not for you. Our room was comfortable if a bit cramped, with our suitcases competing for floor space. En-suite was clean but also a bit small. Wifi was good and it's a 10-15 minute walk to restaurants in Launceston's CBD.

Quirky place, will not be for everyone. Chock full of homely character. If your a fussy person, taking photos of minor defects don't stay here. But if you want to relax in a peaceful place, cook on the patio, and enjoy the art and decor, just enjoy it. Sure the curtains don't quite block the street light, and the paint is peeling in the bathroom, but some how it doesn't matter. Home away from home.

This is a great venue for basic budget accommodation. The owner Sonny very kindly allowed us a late checkout at short notice, and was super friendly and efficient. The room was clean, quiet and fairly spacious. Not flash but it did the job fine and if you are on a budget this is the place for you!

It’s a really tiny old house with wonky walls and creaky floors. The host Sunny was a friendly chap. We was welcoming and helpful. Room a bit cramped and furniture was old and tired. “Interesting” decor on display. Not the greatest short stay we’ve had, but it was memorable!

This is a really neat and clean boutique type hotel with only 4 or 5 rooms. It's a little bit like a BnB without the breakfast. You can use the outdoor kitchen area to prepare basics which is handy for a budget traveler like me. The owners are so nice and ever so helpful. I would stay here again without a doubt, it was really comfortable.

Nothing like photos. In the middle of renovation they said. Did not look professional/. Off street parking. Room neat and tidy basic. Did not stay even though we paid up front. Stayed elsewhere as we didn’t feel comfortable, not private, smelt like cats/old. Looked liked a family lived there too. Helpful on check in but just nothing like we expected.

My son and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Mews Motel. Sunny was very welcoming on our arrival allowing us to check in at 9am! We had a family room which was two separate rooms - plenty of space for my son and I. It is a heritage listed building with lots of character. We stayed 9 nights with the rooms cleaned daily. My son commented it felt like we were staying at someone’s house and how comfortable it was. A short walk out of the CBD and plenty of other restaurants and Coles very close by. Would definitely stay again. How often do you buy chocolates to leave at your accommodation as a thank you?! Thanks guys!
