Have stayed in almost all accommodations in Launceston.

The Auldington is by far the best value establishment, large high ceiling rooms with every amenity you could want. Spotlessly clean, large fully equipped bathrooms, super fast wifi a large television with Netflix along with an amazing choice of channels via some service. Convenient free parking at the door. An interesting collection of art throughout the hotel.

An excellent choice for Launceston stays.

From James the owwner's welcome to our departure five days later nothing was too much trouble. Our roomwas very large with every facility you could think of. James was only too happy to give us extra rea supplies when we asked. The bathroom was large spotless and fully supplied. The beautiful large jacuzzi bath which did wonders for my aching back was the star surprise.
James had a map of the city available with all the eating establishments. Anumber were marked to show they gave 10% off when you told them you were staying at the Auldington.
About two blocks walk to the ecommercial edge of the city, plenty of parking and very convenient for West Tamar and the Midland Highway.

I stayed with our two small children for a night's stay during the week. I had never heard of this place nor had my friends who live in Launceston. It is certainly a hidden gem! Room was spotless and very comfortable with complimentary Netflix, well-stocked minibar, informative guest book, etc... even makeup remover wipes in the bathroom which was a great idea! The kids loved the huge bathtub. Onsite parking was very convenient and staff were also very helpful. Stay was value for money and will definitely stay again when in Launceston.

The Audlington is a lovely old building which used to be a convent. It has been renovated well and the room we had was on the first floor, with a verandah outside with a view over Launceston. The room was spacious and the bed very comfortable. It was a short walk down the hill for a breakfast and a 10minute walk to the CBD. The staff were helpful. A lovely place to return to!

This small hotel in a historic building is run by a proprietor who cares about his customers and his hotel. It is beautifully maintained and in a great location with gardens and off street parking. The staff were very friendly and helpful, including making recommendations for dinner and helping with my travel arrangements. The room was large and well appointed with a huge modern bathroom. I stayed for three nights and would have liked to stay longer.

My partner and I weren’t exactly sure what to expect and after a bad experience last time we travelled to launceston we had low expectations, but this place really surprised us. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and it’s in a great location. It’s close to the city but hidden away so it feels private. The car park is easily accessible and there are multiple so you’re guaranteed to find a spot. The exterior is so nice looking and the garden out the front is lovely, and it just gets better when you go inside. The interior is so welcoming and has a really homely feel, the tvs are modern and rooms come with complimentary wifi and netflix. The bathroom is incredible aswell, had a huge spa bath and a very spacious shower with great pressure and temperature. The room itself is incredibly spacious and the black out blinds and curtains keeps the room incredibly dark. Overall we are extremely pleased with our stay and will definitely be returning!

Hi Luke, It is rare that we need a cash deposit, however if you haven't got a valid credit card with ID to match then we just ask for a security deposit over night and it is returned to you first thing in the morning and this has never been a problem with any of our other guests but appreciate your point of view. Kind Regards Reservations Auldington Hotel

My husband and I stayed at the boutique hotel at the weekend. It is a beautiful old historic building that was the convent for the Presentation Sisters when they came from Ireland over 150 years ago. The rooms have been updated very tastefully and the whole place has a special feel about it. The rooms are very well equipped. There is everything you could need including crockery cutlery and toiletries. The bed is super comfortable and the rooms have excellent tv’s including Netflix. The gentleman who runs it is very friendly, efficient and helpful. It is in the heart of the city and walking distance to the gorge and seaport.

We stayed a few nights here at the beginning and end of our stay and could not fault the rooms, their service or the location. James and his team take care of you and James' recommendations for dining and activities were spot on. The room has a great bed and shower and a variety of pillows for your comfort. Our flight got changed to later in the afternoon and they kindly let us have a late check out. It was truly a great place to stay in a beautiful building.

Our rooms rear window was about 4 metres from a door used by school children to enter their building. Our side window was about 5 metres from their undercover playground. So don't expect a sleep in through the week. But according to management I'm the first person to ever mention this issue. School holidays and weekends would be fine but after 5 school days it wasn't a pleasant experience. So book your stay very carefully. Or call to select a quiet room at the other end of the hotel.
