A faultless quick overnight stay at the Kurrajong House from the pre-arrival communication to the stay itself.

It's evident that Linda and Andre genuinely care that your time in Launceston is perfect and display this through the great quality rooms and amenities but also the attention to detail and care provided during the stay - with restaurant/itinerary recommendations.

Linda and Andre should probably be recognised by Tourism Tasmania as this level of care and dedication benefits the whole state!

We were here for 4 nights recently, and can thoroughly recommend Kurrajong House. Hosts Andre and Linda are very friendly and welcoming, and made sure that we were comfortable. We had a lovely room, with a comfortable bed, and good sized shower. Breakfast is in the guests main dining/lounge area, and includes both continental and cooked breakfast. We did have Andre’s cooked breakfast, which was delicious. Andre & Linda gave us many tips on places to see, and recommendations on restaurants, which we tried (very good). Kurrajong House is in a quiet area, not to much noise, and provides off street parking and wifi. It is a bit of a steep walk down to the CBD, but we managed it every day. Linda did give us a tip on another route back, which was not quite as hilly. Overall our stay here was excellent, and Andre and Linda are outstanding hosts.

We visited Launceston with 2 other couples, our first trip away from home after Covid19 lockdown. We booked Rose Cottage at Kurrajong, the other 2 couples had rooms in the house. The cottage was excellent - a full kitchen, a decent size lounge room, and a very chic but also comfortable bedroom with an ensuite bathroom. Our hosts, Andre and Linda, were as helpful as they could be and so friendly. The lounge in the house also looked very welcoming, but as we were a group, we chose to socialise while socially distancing in our big lounge/dining room in the cottage, and leave the other lounge to other residents. In the morning, we joined our friends at the big breakfast table. (The other residents for the night had elected not to take the breakfast.) Breakfast commenced with the continental buffet, followed by a full cooked plate. It was superb. Cannot recommend this place highly enough. (Just don't book it out when I want to be there next, please!)

We had 3 nights in the Rose garden cottage , and were so comfortable we could of stayed for ever. The owners have thought of everything and I deny anyone who could want for more. Fresh milk , washing powder ,and a beautiful arrangement of biscuits , coffee, tea, hot chocolate and toiletries made us feel well looked after. Linda and Andre were a wealth of information on the local area and further afield and we would totally recommend a stay at the spotlessly clean Kurrajong House.

Linda and Andre booked us into the Rose Cottage rather than a room since we were staying 9 nights in early March 2020. What a lovely couple, and Andre is a great breakfast chef. . . so many B&B places do just continental breakfasts anymore, his "special eggs" were always a treat. Kurrajong overlooks the city, where ALL the local attractions are a walk away, albeit some hills to negotiate. A spotless clean facility with many amenities and beautiful grounds. Any return visit will be at Kurrajong House!

Thank you Craig and Jane, It was our pleasure to have you stay with us. We were worried at the thought of 9 nights no car but you had a great relaxing time. It was lovely you stayed a long time and we got to know you both well. As we are now closed and don’t know what the world holds for us now all I do hope another trip from USA is possible in the near future and glad you got home safe. Maybe you will return to see your Grand Prix that was cancelled. Stay safe, Linda & Andre

Tastefully decorated rooms in a beautiful heritage property. We had 2 rooms which were clean with fridge, tea coffee making facilities, air-conditioning, toiletries, parking & beds with good sleep quality. Our stay was enhanced by our very welcoming hosts, Linda & Andre who were on hand to whip up an amazing breakfast every morning & to offer travel tips & recommendations. Close to town, this is very much a quintessential bed and breakfast- hence no cooking or laundry facilities. We enjoyed our stay & will definitely stay here next time we return

Stayed for three nights in July in the Emily Room which was very comfortable and tastefully furnished with a chandelier, lovely furniture and ornaments on the fireplace mantelpiece.

There was a king sized bed (very comfortable) that had bedside tables with lamps on either side of the bed as well as a single arm chair and a two seater sofa lounge. There was a mini bar and tea and coffee making facilities located in a part of the wardrobe and a flat screen TV mounted on the wall. There was also a rectangular wall mirror.

The large bathroom had a reasonably sized vanity and a walk-in shower (good pressure).

The room was serviced daily and was exceptionally clean. WIFI worked well.

Breakfast included both Continental (cereals, toast, fruit salad, jams and juices) and cooked (eggs, bacon, sausage, mushrooms and tomato) options that was served in the very light and airy conservatory.

Our hosts, Andre and Linda, were very welcoming and exceptionally helpful.

Free off-street parking was available.

Whilst the accommodation is less than a 10 minute walk into the centre of the shopping area, that walk involves a very steep descent and a very steep and arduous climb back up to the House which is located on the top of a hill - as Andre said, the address is Hill Street. There was no view from our room.

We spent a couple of days at Kurrajong House and had a lovely stay. Linda and Andre are great hosts, very welcoming and full of information and recommendations as to what to do and where to go in and around Launceston - Be sure to ask Linda where to get the best hamburger in town. We did a lot of walking around the city including walking out to Cataract Gorge, we planned to walk back but the uphill return trip got the better of us. We stayed in Rose Cottage which is slightly different from the main house and the traditional Bn’B experience being totally seperate and self contained. It is a great set up with every amenity including your own washing machine which was a nice surprise. If you are chasing all the social aspects of a bed and breakfast but prefer your own private get away, Rose Cottage is highly recommended.

We recently stayed 2 nights at Kurrajong House in Launceston. We were delighted to find it was a perfectly restored old home with beautiful rose gardens and tastefully decorated. The property was simply immaculate and so well thought out, with hosts Linda and Andre who were terrific. We were made to feel very welcome and relaxed at all times. A particular highlight was the great breakfasts supplied in the dining area, which included fresh fruits, toasts, home made yoghurt, jams and spreads, and of course Andre’s perfect eggs and bacon. We were sad to leave and have no hesitation in recommending this property to travellers

Staying in Kurrajong house was a lovely experience. The hosts are charming and accommodating, the room was tastefully decorated, clean and private. I found it unbelievable value for money especially considering the extensive breakfast included.
Its located on a hill within easy walk of the city and a quick cheap taxi ride back up the hill!
The hosts genuinely enjoy interacting with guests and they made us feel so welcome, recommending awesome places to eat and things to do. There are lots of thoughtful extras like wine available in the bar fridge, luxurious linen, but the standout for me was the hosts.
