We booked this hotel as a special treat to celebrate our 5th Wedding Anniversary and it treat it was indeed! Everything was perfect, gorgeous room, the most comfiest bed ever, log fires in the lounge where we enjoyed playing yahtzee in the evenings. The hotel has such a lovely feeling and the staff are all extremely accommodating as you can...

We were so happy with our stay at Basildene manor. We were wonderfully welcomed by Michael who told us that the manor was our home for the next two days and that we were to treat it as such...and we did. The cold snap didn't effect our stay as we visited the wineries during the day and by night we...

Dear Holly A, Thank you - wonderful to read that you enjoyed your recent stay with us! One of the negatives, as you mentioned is the lack of WiFi within the hotel but equally important is your comment as to how you then immersed yourselves in the old world charm of the manor and just relaxed. That's what life is...

This is a very special place. Originally a settlers home, it has been tastefully converted into an unusual hotel. The original house has many features preserved, such as the beautiful floors and wine cellar. The gardens, with pool and tennis court, are simply stunning. We had a spa suite in the newer area added to the back. The room and...

Dear richardlizkt, I have to admit that the WI-fi at Basildene Manor is an issue but we are striving to make it better. Wi-fi is available in the public areas for free, however is not able to be connected to in the rooms. Some guests take a little while to accept this but in the end, all say that it...

Beautiful boutique hotel surrounded by perfect landscaped gardens. The first room we were given , "The Verdello" was rather small and had a bad smell. Also right next to the laundry which can be noisy. The staff were very apologetic but because of the long weekend, the hotel was full and we could not be moved. However, due to a...

The room was large, clean and well appointed with windows opening to the gardens. Huge comfy bed with plenty of drawer and wardrobe space. Ensuite was well done in a slightly 'Old Fashion' theme that fitted in perfectly with this old manor property Try a Devonshire Tea with homemade scones baked especially for you or try some freshly made cakes...

From the moment we drove up the path and took one look at the beautifully manicured gardens, I knew I was going to love this place, the manor itself is from early 1900's and decorated as such, I was in heaven. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and very informative and gave lots of suggestions on what to see and...

Do yourself a favour and visit Basildene Manor. It's situated close to town which is full of good restaurants, but just far enough out to feel like you're still on a country lane.
