The studio was spotless!! My kids loved the pool and spa which were also kept super clean. The barn with pool table and ping pong, plus games etc for kids was awesome. We would definitely stay again!!!

Kauri Villas certainly lived up to its reputation. It has excellent facilities which are very well maintained. Great swimming pool and spa pool. Even though it is fairly handy to Whangarei it feels very rural and is close to some magnificent beaches. My only complaint is that the resident cat (ngeru) that likes to check in each day does not have its own instagram page

Thank you for your fabulous review. Lily would have her own instagram page if she was able, but unfortunately her 'slaves' are busy with other tasks. Thank you for sharing your fish & chips with her.

We stayed 3 nights in the Kohinui holiday cottage with our extended family- couple in 60s, couple in 30s with 5 month old baby, and 2 singles in their 20s, so 7 of us. We used all 4 bedrooms, Pauline kindly even provided a portacot for the baby. It was great having our own self-contained cottage with full kitchen including dishwasher, plenty of room, and good supplies including books/a newish magazine which I enjoyed. There were even some children's books which we read to the baby! Minor top-ups of dead batteries and liquid soap were attended to quickly, we only had to ask. Note that breakfast is not included with this cottage- that was actually better for us, but you can order it extra if you wish. We also used the pool and the spa, both very attractive. Amazing views. We fed the chickens and most did the walk down to the waterfall. Some used the games room and we used the barbecue. It was great looking out over Parua Bay and we drove out for some walks around the area. We couldn't have been made more welcome and after a difficult year this was an awesome place to come.

Pauline and Buster provided the most wonderful environment for our end of year event. The beautiful new pool and deck, the spa, the view, the bush walk, the food and the beautifully laid table was magic. They went out of their way to make sure we were all comfortable and happy. We recommend this place for a lovely get away or for a venue for that special event. thank you. AIM ltd

Our helpful hosts Pauline and Buster gave us a free upgrade to the Colonial Suite. Big cooked breakfast, large bedrooms and a cosy sitting room. The home made Thai curry was delicious and followed by a moist gluten free pear and ginger cake with caramel sauce. We both enjoyed our conversation with our hosts over dinner. Three kaka flew overhead last night and I loved seeing the Southern Cross from the spa. Lily the smoochy puss was a bonus as was Pauline's help when I realised I had left my handbag at the tavern. Would happily stay again. Recommend you book with them direct and if staying 2 plus nights ask for a discount and keep more $ in NZ :)

This place, just outside Whangarei, has sea views to die for, set on high above Parua Bay. It has large Villa style buildings with large well furnished B & B rooms and also does weddings and meals for large parties. This is why we visited and were not disappointed with the service and quality of food for a party of 22. There is also a large well equipped pool & spa pool with those special views. Well worth the short trip out of town.

Highly recommend this charming villa- one night wasn’t enough! It’s idyllically perched with an incredible view of Parua Bay and the sunset was incredible. The bed was really comfortable and it was probably the best breakfast I’d had in months. I hope to re-visit next year! Thank you Pauline and Buster.

Thank you for your kind review! One of the comments we hear most often is that people wished they had stayed longer. Thank you also for the breakfast comment! It is good to hear. We look forward to seeing you back again for a longer stay next year.

Lovey venue with close proximity to the picturesque Whangarei Heads area. Excellent breakfast to start the day (Buster makes a fine coffee!), then a climb up Mt Manaia followed by a walk to Smugglers Bay and topped off with a relaxing spa back at the villa. Thanks!

Stayed here to visit family. Had a nice unit, clean and well equipped. Is an excellent location. Plenty of breakfast also with great coffee. Having 2 bathrooms suited us perfectly. It was winter - the pool and its vista looked impressive. may return in summer.
