Quite a big sprawling place with plenty of rooms. Dining and cooking areas and communal television. DVDs and books were available Bedrooms and shared showers and toilets were clean. A garden area can be used - and there was a weird assortment of furniture there....More

Stayed here for just one night. It‘s a very lovely hostel with a very friendly host Peter. There are two kitchens 😍 So enough space for everybody (: There is free and unlimited Wifi. You also find a piano and a guitar there.

The historic Kauri house that was turned into a hostel is the most "Northland" place to stay in Whangarei, plus our hosts Peter and Noell were super friendly and suggested awesome things to do in the area. Spot on!

We stayed 2 nights in this hostel , and it was amazing ! everything is really clean, rooms, kitchens, bathrooms... Owners are lovely, you can ask to them everything, they will do the best for you! The only thing maybe is it's a little bit...More

Don't rely on bunkdown. After making a booking the owner decided to cancel my booking after a group came along and wanted a block booking. Consequently I arrived in Whangarei with no confirmed accomodation. He was not concerned that he had been a cheap shot...More
