Nestled in native bush, on a ridge top, Rimu Lodge gazes out across the Hokitika River, across farmland to the mountains beyond. You will be immediately struck by the absolute silence and the sheer majesty of the surroundings where you can truly relax and take in the splendour of native New Zealand bush, snow clad mountains and the Hokitika River running through fertile farmlands. Rimu Lodge is this place. Four individually styled en-suite rooms (two ground floor, two first floor), all taking maximum advantage of the wonderful views.

Such a gem in the beautiful environs of Hokitika. The lodge has been beautifully designed with large, spacious spaces for the guests to explore both inside and out. Breakfast was a treat. We wished we could have stayed longer.

I am pleased you found the setting to be gorgeous, and that you observed your room was lovely. Your husband changed your previous booking of 2 upstairs rooms (for you and your teenage grandchildren) to one day earlier, 36 hours prior to arrival. It was not possible to give you the same 2 rooms as they were already booked. It is against our policy to move existing guest bookings from their selected rooms to accommodate late requests. It is a legal requirement for all accommodations to have wheelchair access bathrooms comply with a strict series of guidelines.
