I would love to keep Lorelei B&B a secret, but that would not be fair to Roger, the host, who is as much of a gem as the B&B he owns and manages. If you are looking for post-modern metal and mirrors finish with an obsequious host, this is SO not your kind of place. Roger is low key- he...

This is a beautiful old house made into a charming B&B. Roger has thought about things that make your stay all the more comfortable, for example complimentary wine and cheese, fresh milk and coffee freely available and Foxtel channels in the rooms. Try the 'green eggs' for breakfast - wonderful.

We loved our stay here. Roger was friendly without being overbearing, and he really has his guests interests at heart. We enjoyed being able to sit in the huge guest lounge, where he provided wine, cheese & biscuits each night. Continental Breakfast was included & there were many choices of cereals, juices, breads, jams, teas & coffee. Hot & cold...

This was our first time staying here and we were very impressed. The house itself could be a Set for a Dr Blake series - so much preserved. Our host, Roger, had the right attitude "Can Do!" Our room (no. 6) was large and very comfortable with its half-4- poster bed, 2 armchairs, lots of hanging space + hooks, a...

As some have mentioned, compare to your average motel on the side of a noisy road, this is amazing value for the fabulous quiet night after a relaxing time in your own spa and a breakfast better than any 5 star hotel as it is home made to order to start the next day. I'll be back. Thank you.

A lovely property, full of character and beautifully furnished. Nothing is too much trouble for the friendly host and the complimentary drinks etc. are far more than you could expect. In a quiet location, but within easy walking distance of the centre and sea front. The town of Portland is one of the friendliest places we have stayed and far...

We relied on TripAdvisor ratings and we were glad we did. Partially hidden behind a hedge, the house, now over 100 years old, welcomes you with a porch and original stained glass windows. Owner Rodger is very casual and friendly. We had phoned in advance to say when we would arrive, which was good because Roger is in and out....

Roger certainly knows how to be a great host. Lorelei is so inviting and Roger makes sure you feel at home there. The rooms are spacious and lovely to stay in, plus having a spa in our room was an extra bonus after a long day walking the Great South West Walk. Roger also had a yummy cheese platter and...

I had a fantastic one night stay at Lorelei. I was passing through Portland and this was exactly what I had hoped for. Very clean and tidy, fabulous place with bags of character. The complimentary wine/port and cheese was a brilliant touch, as was the free Foxtel. It was just really easy to stay here and the owner is incredibly...

My husband and I had not visited Portland before so decided to book a BnB for three nights to have a rest and a good look around. The weather was typical Victorian winter but our welcome and stay at Lorelei was warm and friendly. We were amazed at Rogers generosity and friendly but considerate concern for his guests. The house and...
