As some have mentioned, compare to your average motel on the side of a noisy road, this is amazing value for the fabulous quiet night after a relaxing time in your own spa and a breakfast better than any 5 star hotel as it is home made to order to start the next day. I'll be back. Thank you.

A lovely property, full of character and beautifully furnished. Nothing is too much trouble for the friendly host and the complimentary drinks etc. are far more than you could expect. In a quiet location, but within easy walking distance of the centre and sea front. The town of Portland is one of the friendliest places we have stayed and far... More

We relied on TripAdvisor ratings and we were glad we did. Partially hidden behind a hedge, the house, now over 100 years old, welcomes you with a porch and original stained glass windows. Owner Rodger is very casual and friendly. We had phoned in advance to say when we would arrive, which was good because Roger is in and out.... More

Roger certainly knows how to be a great host. Lorelei is so inviting and Roger makes sure you feel at home there. The rooms are spacious and lovely to stay in, plus having a spa in our room was an extra bonus after a long day walking the Great South West Walk. Roger also had a yummy cheese platter and... More

I had a fantastic one night stay at Lorelei. I was passing through Portland and this was exactly what I had hoped for. Very clean and tidy, fabulous place with bags of character. The complimentary wine/port and cheese was a brilliant touch, as was the free Foxtel. It was just really easy to stay here and the owner is incredibly... More

My husband and I had not visited Portland before so decided to book a BnB for three nights to have a rest and a good look around. The weather was typical Victorian winter but our welcome and stay at Lorelei was warm and friendly. We were amazed at Rogers generosity and friendly but considerate concern for his guests. The house and... More

Roger is a great host. We only had a one night stay that left lasting impressions. Lorelei is a charming, clean, comfortable old home that had been lovingly looked after. All amenities we experienced were great with tasteful modern touches and a very comfortable bed. The breakfast in the dining room was well supplied with simple options. Would definitely revisit... If u are going to Portland this is the place to stay. The host, Roger was warm and welcoming. He has complimentary wine and beer on arrival with cheese and crackers to share. The house and furnishings were Victorian old world charm and breakfast was a generous delight. For under $150 this was an exceptional find.

I've stayed at the Lorelei half a dozen times or more, and it's always welcoming, comfortable, and refreshing. The host is friendly and kind, the food is fantastic, and the rooms ensure you'll get a good night's sleep. Every detail has received attention--from the wine and cheese available in the evenings, to the chairs on the veranda, to the well... More

Spent a lovely night on our way to Nelson. Good service, good comfy room, lovely breakfast. Ticked all the boxes for the wife and I. Central to shopping, restaurants etc. would be a good stopover on the way to Melbourne or Adelaide. ...........................................
