The Sunday take-away, gammeldags oksesteg, was a pleasant surprise with plenty of food, tenderly prepared beef and sauce with top notch potatoes, onions and carrots at 79 kr per person. The dessert, a large portion of gammeldags æblekage, was equally tasty and well prepared. All was served 'out of the window' by a very nice young man, so no corona-concerns! Jette & Klaus Bendtzen

Very nice dinner and the outside dining was delightful until people started smoking at about every table. Welcome to Europe. I was glad I was outside. The owners are onsite and very accommodating. The food was good, but not cheap. We were with a Danish speaking friend and that was all I heard from the waitress and other diners.

With my family we had reserved a table for 6 adults to celebrate my birthday. After ordering our smorrebrod dishes we asked for the wine chart; we chosed a bottle of a sauvignon blanc from Chili , expecting a nice glass of wine. Unfortunatly the taste of the wine was not good , a kind of acid and certainly not what can be expected from a sauvignon blanc. Also 2 other members of our group disapproved the wine, so it was obviously not a one mans opinion. Normally in that case you would expect the bottle to be removed by the waitress and wait for a replacing bottle . None of that happened , also no excuse or something like that .Without any comment from the waitress she left the bottle standing on the table. After that I asked for another wine ( rose from Italy) that tasted good ( 259 kroner) After the first dishes were served I asked the waitress to remove the disapproved sauvignon blanc from the table , which she did with an expression as if she did not understood why When it came to the final payment I was confronted with 2 other surpises. The first one was the fact that the waitress had put the disapproved bottle on the bar, but also on the bill. After a remark of me that I did not expected that to happen and that I did not intend to pay for this bottle she had the guts to tell me that it was a normal thing in Denmark to do so?. Of course I know that that is not the case ( in which I was also supported by familymembers living in Denmark) but she insisted that i should pay for a bottle of wine that was disapproved by 3 guests. The second surprise i found on the bill was the fact that the price of the rose wine was wellover 400 kroner instead of the 259. The waitress could not gave an explanation for that ? Only after a long and firm discussion she made up a new bill , without the sauvignon and a correct price for the rose Lynge Kro; the smorrebrod and the location was perfect.Lourens de Groot from Holland will never forget his 70 th birthday; thank you for that. But please explain to this lady that hospitality and a friendly approach to your guests always wins at the end Maybe until next year? …
