Good double room with en suite. Large kitchen and lounge area. Helpful staff. 10 minute walk to town centre. Free chocoloate pudding is bad and they shouldn't really advertise free bikes because most of them were not even roadworthy.

Hi there, Thanks for your review. Regarding the bikes .... sometimes it is hard for us to keep up with the repairs. Being free to use they are hugely in demand and get very well used. You have caught us at a time when we have had a very busy January and not had time to do the repairs ......

Such a lovely, clean hostel, and friendly, helpful staff. only a short walk from the centre of Nelson, and from where most coaches drop off/pick up from. The cake and ice cream was a lovely surprise too! I would have loved to stay longer!

This hostel was great and not just because of the free chocolate pudding at 8pm each night! It's a short walk out of town but worth the effort. Clean, tidy, well equipped kitchen and nice inside and outside areas to hang out in. I had a clean, comfortable four bed dorm which was nice and quiet at night due to...

This was one of the best hostels we stayed at, and was really glad that we had 2 whole nights here. Their website says that the owners were backpackers themselves so they understand what backpackers need -- and that's evident in what is provided here. The hostel was REALLY clean, and they also provide towels and soap for you free...

I stayed here for two nights. Firstly I would like to say how impressed I was with this hostel. The staff came to pick me up from the bus station and they were friendly and helpful, I admit the rooms are small but they are comfortable to stay in. Of course the highlights of the stay: Free wifi for everyone...

This place would have been just fine for a night had it not been for the exceptionally noisy and inconsiderate people in the kitchen from 1-4am. I think it would be a good idea to set a curfew or at least to ask guests to please refrain from using the kitchen from 11pm to 5am (which seems reasonable given some...

Hi, I am really sorry to hear that other Backpackers were noisy in the kitchen during the night and it kept you up. Our general philosophy is not to have too many rules (hence we don't have a set closed time for the kitchen) but to create an atmosphere of respect and friendliness so that our guests do think of...

The owners are very friendly and welcoming, our room was great! The overall feel of the place was great too. Only downsides were that it could get really loud at night (but it is a backpackers) and the fridges were all full (but kitchens more or less clean all the time)

The rooms are basic but much more spacious than other hostels I've stayed in. The shared facilities are well set out and well fitted. The staff are super friendly and helpful. I think for me what makes this place even better are the small touches like free unlimited wifi, hot chocolate pudding and tea/coffee. It's not much but it does...

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hostel in a double ensuite room. The room was basic but in line with the rate per night. Unfortunately, the cleanliness was not up to standard. We found underwear from a previous guest under the bed and the bathroom and windows needed a good douse of bleach. On the upside, the kitchen was...
