We just got back from a fantastic week at this original Chateau, completely renovated in a very luxurious style. The owners made our stay very cosy by having all guests, including them self, sitting together at the same table for lunch or dinner and yet you had your own privacy in the well equipped apartment if you preferred. We would...

We went there for our 10 year wedding anniversary, and loved it. Our suite had a private terrace, and while the bedroom decoration were a little flashy for my taste (our gold bed being an example) everything else was perfect. We ate here on our first night, and dinner was booked by Peter's son....the food, while not exceptional was good,...

Peter and Karina are warm and welcoming people. We stayed in the smallest gîte with 2 adults and our son (9). They are more than well equipped and at our surprise we found a very nice welcome basket in our fridge. Also the domain is beautiful and well looked after. So clean. Also a big plus for the staff. Would...

Like last year we spent again a couple of days with Karina, Peter and their crew. Superb setting, nice people, nice place for naturism. breakfast was better than last year and progress on the renovation of the castle was enormous so it was obvious that we made a new reservation for next year .

We all loved it (parents with two girls, age 8 and 11 years). Karina & Peter have managed to create such an idyllic place. So much that we have seen less of the wonderful and diverse Hérault and Languedoc region than we had planned. We will be back next year! Thanks again for such a great, beautiful and easy-going place.

excellent services, all rooms have a wine name which is appropriate because it's part of a winery. The room very clean and comfortable but cheap on shampoo and soap. the breakfast is delicious big enough choices and they can cook on demand as well. their offer the option to have a dinner at the hotel which is cooked by the...

Lovely people in an unbelievable situation. Fantastic experience to be repeated. Beautiful Chateau and great staff. Visit Montpelier which is a must, even though it may not be on a top ten places it is a beautiful place.

This chateau is a dream come true. Tastefully modernised but with every bit of it's French charm still preserved. We stayed for 2 nights and that wasn't long enough. Set in the beautiful languedoc countryside it is so peaceful and relaxing. The hosts Peter and Katrina were most friendly and dined with us in the evening in the garden following...

Fabulous stay, ample and excellent cuisine, individual rooms showing attention to detail. Not a box-hotel; rather a fabulous place to stay when you want something different without any compromise in quality.

So, we weren't disappointed! Totally blown away with the peaceful and tranquility of the gardens; the beautiful chateau and the most amazing hosts of this well appointed Chateau! Besides the Chateau. . . So much to see and do in the area! A visit to Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert - one of France's prettiest villages or maybe a cruise down the Canal du...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Château Rieutort is an elegant 18th century wine domain situated on the banks of the Herault River in the Languedoc. It is surrounded by a 2,5 ha park and 30 ha of vineyards and it backs onto the domaine's own winery. Château Rieutort is not a hotel. It is a family run B&B & gîtes complex which was turned into a heaven of relaxation for the mind, body and senses. Rieutort does not have innumerable staff or bedrooms or indeed a 24 hour manned reception. However... a warm welcome in stunning surroundings will be provided. You will be at your home away from home. You will make new friends. Your glass will be filled with the excellent wines from the Domaine. No Michelin chef will cook for you but an excellent home-made four course table d'hotes dinner will be offered to you to share, in the usual French country style, with the owners and other guests at one table. Relax in this palace of splendour & realise your dreams at the Château Rieutort: enjoy the naturist and textile pools, book an aromatherapy massage (60 - 85€ per hour), sip fine wines (16,75 - 49€ per bottle), share sumptuous dinners (30€ per person)and breakfasts (included in the price of the B&B rooms)with old and new friends, wear your best outfit, the most exciting or most comfortable. Discover a suite in the Château (119€ - 239€)and socialise with other guests or book one of the the quiet newly remodeled gîtes (115€ - 299€ per night) to have more privacy and space. You can choose your accommodation between 1 standard double room and 4 suites (two are air conditioned). All suites have additional double sofa beds. 1 suite has TV and private terrace. All rooms/suites have en suite facilities. If you come with friends or family why not to book one of the gîtes (self catering converted historical buildings)? You can choose between 1 four bedroom gîte (with a large private terrace and stunning panorama), 1 three bedroom gîte (with private terrace and jacuzzi), 3 two bedroom gîtes (one of them is an amazing Orangery buidling) and 1 one bedroom gîte. In total a maxium of 56 guests can be accommodated. In July and August a minimum stay of 2 nights in B&B rooms will be required and 3 nights in gîtes. ... more   less
