We stayed 2 nights and were made to feel right at home. The hearty cooked breakfast, Steve and Karen's knowledge and assistance with booking dining and tour venues eased all anxiety. If you like history, old world charm with modern convenience as a change to the typical motel, this is the place when staying in Queenstown.

Penghana B&B is an oasis of comfort, history and hospitality on Tasmania's west coast. We stayed there in March and have booked a return visit in July, Owen Suite both times. Queenstown is a convenient location for day tours, and Penghana is the icing on the cake.

This building is seeped in history and the hosts are happy to share the story with you. We stayed in the Owen Suite, the bedroom of Robert and Marion Sticht, which was very comfortable and a had a good view of Queenstown, particularly spectacular at night. Do ask for a tour of the upper level of the house. It is...

We wanted to visit the west coast to ride the old railway and do a Gordon River cruise. We had the choice of staying in Strahan or Queenstown. We're pretty happy that we decided to stay in Queenstown at Steve and Karen's beautiful Penghana B&B. They took care of our every need, and even kept us on schedule to ensure...

Magical place, steeped in a rich history. Steve and Karen are the perfect hosts. The rooms are spacious and beautifully presented. The gardens were nicely kept and made for great photo opportunities. Highly recommended and can't wait to return.

Thank you Heather for your compliments. We do strive to ensure our rooms and guest areas present well. Sometimes it is a challenge when we are trying to renovate, upgrade and redecorate in between guests - a task better achieved in the winter months! The gardens have great potential for further improvement and what we have done since being here...

Penghana Bed and Breakfast is a step back in time. Our room the Huxley, provides the decor one would expect in such a first class old home steeped in history. As an ex professional photographer I loved the old Sepia photographs (or Pyro a component of original photographic developer providing a Sepia effect are amazing) located through out the home....

Peter Thank you so much for reviewing your stay with us at Penghana. We are so pleased you enjoyed your time in the Western Wilderness and you found the photographic history we have here interesting. Firstly, thank you for choosing Penghana for your group's 40 year reunion trip and in particular for choosing this venue to 'formally' celebrate this milestone as well as take the opportunity for your group to enjoy the Wilderness Railway and Heritage Cruise in Macquarie Harbour/Gordon River experiences. We're pleased the catering for all your meals here worked well and that...

The hosts karen and Steven have only been managing Penghana for 14 months, but it's a truely rewarding stay on so many levels. A unique mansion retains its 120 year old charm, but a genuine warmth and socialising areas wrap the whole experience.

Thank you Bruce for your glowing comments about Penghana under our business ownership. We do strive to ensure our guests have 'an experience' at Penghana rather than it being just another B & B. Yes the Western Wilderness of Tasmania is probably the last place you would expect to find someone who lived for a year just 30 minutes from your own hometown in the middle of Iowa! I always enjoy going down memory lane back to 1972 and fondly remembering my exchange student year in Chariton Iowa, which I continue to credit as...
