The location is superb: the mansion built for the general manager of the mining and railway company in the late 19th century. Our room was palatial, bed excellent. Breakfast offered a wide choice. It was around a huge table with other guests. Our hosts booked an evening meal for us at a nearly restaurant, and took us to and from...

Fascinating house in one of the best locations in town with a commanding view over Queenstown. Lots of rooms that guests can go in. Excellent breakfast and Karen and Steve were very friendly, telling us about local history, things to do and Steve very kindly drove us to the bus at the last minute as we'd got the time wrong...

Thank you so much for taking the time to post a review. We appreciate your comments and pleased we were able to give you a memorable stay and you were able to enjoy the various spaces in the house. We are fortunate to have such spaces so guests don't feel like they must stay in their room. The upstairs lounge...

This B&B brings the history of Queenstown alive. The hosts are fabulous and more than willing to share the history of the house and sights to see. The breakfast is a 10 out of 10 too. Special preserves, made to order eggs, and tea and coffee service from vintage silver pots. Like living the royal life of the early 1900's...

Queenstown is not what you might expect, green hills have overtaken barren mine tailings. We really loved Penghana - t was not only a beautiful place to stay the hospitality was second to none. Well into our ride around Tassie on motorbikes we were very pleasantly surprised to find a place where the bike could be parked under cover and...

Stayed overnight and the hosts Karen and Steve went beyond expectations to accommodate us. They directed us towards local eateries and antique shops. The house was like a museum and breakfast was served in silver service. You felt like you Had time travelled back to 1800's.

Thank you so much for your comments - we're pleased you enjoyed your time not only in the Western Wilderness but at other places of interest we were able to recommend. It makes our day when our guests walk away with a great memory of their stay at Penghana, rather than it just being another B & B! It was...

Hosts Steve and Karen greet you through the historic front door and introduce the magnificent building and its connection to the history of Queenstown. Personally I was agog at the building! It's special. The service and welcoming by hosts and their beautiful basset hound (Hannah) just got better with time, and it started out great! Everything worked, and although there...

Steve and Karen are excellent hosts running a beautiful B&B in a lovely position in this interesting town. They gave us a huge amount of time and information, and it was fun to see the house featured in photos in museums at other places in Tasmania. The room and breakfast were great as well.
