My room (Room 3) was comfortable and had a lovely if small bathroom, but all windows opened onto a roof space and the rooms on the opposite side of the space - no views at all. Perhaps all the Colonial rooms are designed this way - but it is a pity not to have a view of anything other than... More

We stayed here for 4 nights as it was more luxurious than most of the Hotels in Katoomba, which seemed to be Motels or Backpacker type hostels. It is best described as a “Colonial Style” hotel. We had booked a Premier Balcony room and this had a king size bed with a separate bathroom which included a bath and over... More

Grew up in Katoomba and remember thinking the Carrington such a 'grand old lady' - never stayed there as we lived there. To return at stay at such an iconic hotel was amazing! Friendly and helpful staff, stunning surrounds and they have really kept the right vibe for such a stately hotel.

The Carrington oozes charm. It's been beautifully and sympathetically restored. Shared bathrooms are a hoot, the en-suite Colonial rooms are a real treat, and the bar, lounge, billiard room, library et al are all rather special. The leadlight windows are a stand-out and the location -- right on Katoomba main street and so near the station -- is fab. Breakfast... More

The Carrington is warm and welcoming. It's slightly faded charm is seductive and embraces you like a warm blanket. We enjoyed our stay and though the lift is old school and slow it sort of goes with the place. My only criticism would be their woeful internet coverage. In this day and age you shouldn't need to stand on one... More

Having stayed here in the past we decided to have a couple of days break from Sydney and were very pleased to see this wonderful hotel continues the high standards for which they are famed. From our initial phone booking, every staff member we encountered during our stay were friendly and welcoming, obviously proud of their product and rightly so!... More

The Carrington hotel was a lot bigger than what I thought. It occupies the whole block, and looks as grand as it was when it was built in honour of the NSW Govenor Lord Carrington. The hotel has kept it's old world style, transporting guests back to a time of glamour. The room I stayed in had a shared bathroom.... More

Carrington Cellars and Deli is a GREAT find. Amazingly well stocked bottle shop with great choices of local and wines from all over the world PLUS cheeses, meats, pickles, olives and sweets - everything you need for a nice picnic. The staff really knows their products and are helpful in selections.

Decided to stay one night on the way to Mudgee and booked a room with no ensuite. The room (39)was lovely and luckily right next to the bathrooms, which was good but unfortunately there was a noisy extractor fan outside of the window. Which we could still hear after buying earplugs! The room also wasn't air-conditioned, so became very hot... More
