On our way up the coast we stayed here for one night. We were delighted at the room and the warmth of the owners. Only brief but we took advantage of the pool outside our room and breakfast was delicious.

Lovely room, impeccably presented. Fabulous helpful hosts (thanks for the tip on the petrol at Machans Beach!), yummy breakfast, beautiful grounds with pool (didn't swim but enjoyed the beauty). Will definitely return here when in cairns again.

Lovely place with really friendly owners. This is located slightly out of Cairns centre so you will need a car or use the bus service. We use dthe bus and all worked out well. The breakfast was great and the swimming pool was a welcomed relief to the heat.

This is an excellent bed and breakfast with a beautiful garden and swimming pool, spacious and very clean accommodation and wonderful breakfasts. The owners are extremely helpful and very friendly, providing some good ideas for excursions and eating. That's the good news. We would highly recommend this bed and breakfast.

My girlfriend and I stayed five nights at Palm Whispers, and we're very glad we chose it over the many non-descript and chain hotels in Cairns itself. The rooms were new, clean and spacious, the location was very quiet and peaceful, the breakfasts were fantastic, and Jean and Shane (the owners) were incredibly accommodating and great hosts. Lots more to say about the great service... but you'll just have to take my word for it and go there yourself!

Last December , we stayed for 3 nights in this brand new b&b and we wish we could have stayed longer! The b&b has 2 rooms, each brand new, very stylish and comfortable. For the guest there is a seperate modern kitchen to share, and a nice seperate part of the garden. In the garden of the house, there is a very nice swimming pool, we loved it;-) To go to the beach it takes you 10 minutes by car. The owners of the b&b gave u a very warm welcome and the most perfect breakfast. Recommended!!

We were on our honeymoon traveling around the world and Palm Whispers was easily one of the best B&B's we stayed at! The location is peaceful and quiet and provides a good setting for a romantic stay. The house itself has been beautifully and tastefully renovated and the room was luxurious. The azure pool in the garden under palm trees is excellent for a lazy afternoon - or just a quick refresher before dinner. And if the facilities are excellent, so are the hosts! Jean and Shane made us feel very welcome from the start. When they heard that we were on our honeymoon, they had even arranged a nice bottle of wine and a box of premium chocolates to wait for us in the room! Freshly prepared breakfasts in the garden were amazing and on our last morning Jean cooked an extra treat of pancakes to make sure we had full tummies for our flight. Both Jean and Shane did their best to make our honeymoon special and I would say they succeeded really really well. Thank you very much!

We stayed 5 days at Palm Whispers and we had a fantastic time. This Bed & Breakfast is great! The rooms are brand-new, very nice decorated and very clean. The beds are very good and we only woke up from the singing birds. Service is very good including the change of linen. We even got pool towels the moment we arrived, to have a nice swim just after arrival. Next to the rooms, there is a kitchen/living room, which you share with the other guestroom, where you can sit, relax and or prepare some food. Around the house there are several nice places to sit outside. There is a nice pool you can use as often you want. There is also a BBQ and a washing machine available. Besides the facilities, Jean and Shane are wonderful hosts with great hospitality. You feel really welcome. They also will help you with everything, like advising & recommending what to do, recommendations for restaurants, booking tours, showing the best way to drive (incl. lending their maps), etc. etc. We also enjoyed sitting with them at the terrace, having a nice chat over a glass of wine or beer with some nice nibbles. Then last but not least: The breakfast. That was delicious and every day again a nice surprise. Some people say you have to have a good start of the day and that is what it is at Palm Whispers or even more. Never think that you are finished, because there is a chance that Jean will surprise you with an additional banana muffin or pancake. We would certainly recommend Palm Whispers to anyone; you will get more than value for money!

My husband and I have never stayed in a B& B before, so making the final decision to do so was a a little daunting, to say the least. My husband had major concerns about privacy and also staying at someones home. So doing this for the first time was a little scary for him and he felt rather unsure. I had chosen this B&B for a number of reasons, thier website, pictures of the rooms, location and cost and the reviews it had recieved via this webste also. Due to an email issue on my end, i had my husband call to confirm our booking, which was a blessing in disguise as it gave him the opportunity to talk to Jean who was able to answer all his questions and put his mind at ease- thank you Jean!! We arrived at this beautiful B&B to a very warm welcome. Immediately you feel at ease and comfortable. Jean and Shane make you feel welcome from the very first minute. Our room was lovely, well appointed, stylish and very comfortable, we had our own ensuite and a shared kitchen and lounge area( with one other couple from Germany- Hubert & Margot- hello:-)). Our room had a small patio to the back, access to our room is via a walkway from the front door and you therefore have no access to thier home, and can come and go as you please as you have access via your own set of keys to the house. Breakfast is served on the pool patio and what a lovely brekkie it is, fresh fruit, warm breads with delightful spreads( hubby recommends the lime marmalade!! - thanks again Jean) . Jean and Shane are teriffic hosts, helpfull with all aspects of travel recomendations (no crap just honesty),accomodation needs etc. Even just a chat by the pool or at the brekkie table is truly entertaining also. You walk in customers and walk out feeling like your leaving long time friends. We can't thank you enough for our experience. We shall be talking about you both and your awesome B&B for some time to come...Cheers and all the very best for Palm Whispers. We do hope to visit again one day, with friends. Lee & Mark Townsville QLD Australia.

After having a fantastic time in Sydney my partner and I headed up to Cairns for the last stop on our vacation. Upon arrival in Cairns we were welcomed at the guest house by friendly hosts Jean and Shane. We needed to make the most of this trip, and straight away felt that there advice and knowledge about the area would be crucial. The accomodation was perfect and the morning dip in the swimming pool very refreshing. My partner and I felt very much at home in the room and there was no pressure regarding anything. The beach was close by and one of the highlights of our trip was watching the sun go down with the waves coming in. Felt like another world compared to England. Strongly recommend anybody who stays here makes the most of Jean and Shanes knowledge and hospitality. They arranged one special trip in particular which was snorkelling in the fantastic Great Barrier Reef, topped off by a helicopter journey back to shore. It was our first helicopter flight and lets just say it was it was well worth it. We were very sad to leave Palm Whispers as we both realised that at that point our dream holiday had come to an end. I strongly recommend this luxury guest house to anybody who wants to feel like a welcome tourist and not just another number in a large hotel. As I sit back in England, i can only really describe our 3 weeks as the best time of our married lives. Australia is an amazing place. Holidays in the future will never compare to those 3 weeks, as the whole trip was "AS GOOD AS IT GETS".
