Lovely country house with great welcome & cosy bar/food service. Fortingall is a beautiful village, you can walk round before dinner. There’s a choice of lounge/bars to relax in front of wood fires before dinner. The dining room is very well presented but not over formal. Good choice of seasonal dishes on menu, well prepared & served from the hotel kitchen. Room very comfortable, country house quality with great views of hills. - perfect location for a relaxing break away in Perthshire. Staff very helpful.

Wonderful relaxing weekend at the Fortingall Hotel in this historic Perthshire village. Log fires, great food and friendly, welcoming staff. Don’t miss the live music on Friday nights. Lots to see in the local area - can’t wait to get back!

Couldn’t fault this Hotel at all . From arriving to leaving 2 days later felt like we were leaving a well visited place . Mags the owner and all Other staff we met were friendly no worries on asking anything . Treated Like old friends x Sadly the place is up for sale and I do hope whomever the new owners will be will keep it in the same way . Breakfast was lovely , Dinner both nights wonderful . Fri night there is music in the bar where locals come in and play traditional music and if you want to sing your more than welcome as is dogs very dog friendly . Our rooms were fab bed everything good and the tot of whisky in the decanter for bed time was well received and I’m not even a whisky drinker lol . Hope to return at some point The area The old yew tree church etc I live not even an hour away and it was all new to me . Fab x

We first stayed at this hotel several years ago. This year, on a journey south from the Outer Hebrides, it was the obvious choice to break our journey. Cumulative delays had meant that we were running late for dinner; however, when we called the Hotel they reassured us that we would still be served dinner when we arrived (even though this was later than a normal service). The welcome was warm and friendly, despite the fact that the Hotel was short of staff. That didn't impact on the service, which was personable and we were looked after well. The food was excellent, our room comfortable and the ambience very pleasant. Following a comfortable night and an excellent breakfast, we continued our journey, glad that we had opted to return. This hotel has character, the staff care about their guests and the food is consistently excellent. We'll be back.

Great quality food, warm friendly people and fantastic surroundings. We ate in the restaurant rather than the bar so not sure what the difference in the menus would be but it was a perfect end to our holiday. Just a shame it's only open weekends. Will definitely be back next time we are here.

We enjoyed a lovely meal in the restaurant. Our waitress was helpful and quite funny. I recommend the Cullen Skink as a starter. I loved the live music on Friday evening with a variety of local songs such as ‘Fortingall’ and old favourites like ‘16 Tons’. The musicians played in the hotel garden over looking the beautiful glen which made the whole evening really memorable.

My 92-year-old mother and I arrived here at 2.05 pm, desperate for some lunch but having been held up by a broken down van on the Glenlyon Road. Despite the fact that they had already cleared up from lunch, which ended at 2 pm, they let us in and made us a delicious packed lunch at very reasonable cost. We were really delighted and they deserve a nice review to thank them for their hospitality.

Just back from our fourth stay at this lovely, comfortable relaxing hotel and it was absolutely perfect. Everything from the lovely food, excellent selection of wine and comfortable sitting areas, with cosy open fires, added to a great weekend escape. The absolute highlight of our stay was the local musicians who pop into the Ewe Bar on Friday nights and entertain customers with traditional songs and stories. The atmosphere was really friendly and welcoming and all added to our special visit. Rooms are warm and comfortable and the in room coffee tray was enhanced with a complimentary decanter of whisky! We felt well looked after by all the staff who really looked after us and we’re already thinking of when our fifth visit will be!!!

Thoroughly enjoyable and comfortable stay. Mags the owner couldn't have been more delightful! We came with our 2 dogs who were made more than welcome throughout and were able to join us for dinner and drinks in the bar. We stayed for 2 nights in a superior room which was incredibly comfortable with a kingsize bed, lots of space and a great shower. We stayed 2 nights. Friday night we ate dinner in the bar with our dogs to enjoy the live music which was great fun! The food was delicious. The second evening we ate in the restaurant which was lovely. You can choose from the same menu regardless of where you eat. Lovely, relaxing stay with stunning scenery. We will definitely be back in the nicer weather to take advantage of some of the walks in the area.
