We spent a week at the Burg Hotel in early March 2022. Staff was very friendly and helpful and the food was everything we had hoped for. A large breakfast buffet in the morning offered everything from healthy juices to homemade Granola. You get a delicious 5 course menu every night, which come as quickly or slowly as we wanted it. And if we just wanted a Wiener Schnitzel or a Spagetti Bolognese instead, we could change it without any issues or extra cost. The best of course is spending the afternoons on the sun terrace. The SPA was recently designed and offered lots of different choices. We’ll definitely come back.
Family hotel with everything you can dream of. Lovely spa, great food, great service, the list is long. The location in Oberlech is definately the best in the whole of Lech. Ski in ski out makes skiing with kids easy.
Overall a good traditional hotel with friendly staff especially our waiter and ski instructor Josef who was excellent. Dinner food is ok not excellent, great salad bar and excellent bfast. Great ski rental guys - super nice and exceptional location - you ski directly as you exit. Real ski in ski out. Rooms are nice and clean, nothing special (especially for their price). Spa is really great! But insist on being in the main hotel. I was misled by reservations to book a family room in one of their connected chalet’s that are in a separate building. Was told its really part of the hotel. Although I insisted on whether its truly part of the hotel they fully reassured me that it was. This was a very unpleasant experience! You have to walk every time you want to reach the room through a very unpleasant cold underground tunnel which is really designed for supplies. Smells bad, you have speeding electric carts serving all the hotels in that area which were a hazard to my kids and pass through service areas like laundry. Truly unacceptable for any decent hotel. Effectively you can’t visit the spa in your robe which rendered it useless to me (and its pretty central to a great skiing break). They had a tiny spa room in the chalet that I never used. The only response I got from the owners upon complaining was a cold sorry - nothing at all to make it up to me. Overall having seen the other hotels nearby Burg Vital is much nicer.…
Enjoyed a delicious lunch in the Burg Hotel restaurant - weather was mixed so we had a table inside at the back in a pavilion area. The service exceeded expectations thanks to our waiter Christophe. We were assisted to choose a sublime Gruner Veltliner wine which was a delight. The menu was excellent, a particular highlight were the Medaillons of Venison. Equally the Kaiserschmarrn dessert was top notch. Highly recommended!
For Hotel guests the relationship with the staff is one of the most important pluses. Hermann, Claudia and Helga are long serving and amazing in therestaurant. Ollie and Stefan likewise at the bars which are an important apres ski destination. At Reception Martina runs a tight ship and the attentiveness to client requests is exemplary. Not to be forgotten at Ski Rental the Walch brothers Simon and Philip. The a la carte menu, has some unmissable classics such as the schnietzel, the consomme, the steak tartare, and the kaiserschmarren. The Wine List is extensive and with some "steals" for those that know how to shop. Helga creates a great fondue atmosphere at the Stubbe. Well done to the Lucian family for running a great hotel and for consistently investing in it.
A family tradition has come to an end. Every year we come to ST Anton to ski with family and friends and as part of this ritual we go to Lech and have lunch at the Burg. Yesterday we received the worst service at the Burg to face arrogant and uncaring staff who left us waiting to place an order saying that as we were on holiday we should be ok with the wait. The family sitting next to us were left to wait over an hour. We decided to complain and the owner came out to argue the fact that an hour wasn’t a lot to wait. He was arrogant an uncaring, which explained the attitude of his staff. Needless to say we would never come here again and strongly advise anyone contemplating a visit to save their money and avoid the Burg!
We have been going for lunch to the Burg Hotel for years during our family ski holiday in Austria. This time we had lunch with our group and when we asked management why service was so slow and unresponsive the owner of the business put more fuel on the fire by dismissing our comments and simply walking away without solving the issue. We were sitting next to another group of skiers (guests of the hotel at circa Euro 1200 per day!!) who had made the same observations to the owner and got the same cold shoulder treatment from a person who appears to be suffering from an acute condition of complete absence of empathy and lack of ability to connect constructively with people, a real problem when running a service establishment charging outrageous prices. Nobody should go here until a change of management - these people are singularly incapable of running a hotel/restaurant!! …
The service in the Burg hotel restaurant was appalling. We were treated to condescending and rude comments from the waiter and the owner alike and after waiting for over an hour just to make our order we decided to leave. The table next to ours did not receive their food for an hour and a half despite repeated inquiries. Instead of an apology or an explanation we were given old bread and basically told to f off. We will never be coming here again and strongly advise any other visitors to Lech to avoid this restaurant if they are looking for decent service to accompany exorbitant prices.
The 4*superior hotel is located in the auto-free "village" of Oberlech that sits above Lech, reachable by gondola in the winter months, and sits right on the ski slopes. Making it the perfect location for skiing, ski school and some fun sleigh time. The picturesque villages of the Arlberg region are charming and set beautifully against the Austrian Alps backdrop. To reach Lech, we flew to Zurich airports and the hotel arranged a pick up service to drive us. It takes just under two hours drive to get to Lech from Zurich. WHY WE LIKE IT AND KEEP COMING BACK... LOCATION The region offers all levels of skiing from beginner to advanced skiing to plenty of off-piste skiing. The Ski School and Children Snow Park is less then 5 minutes walk. Ski lifts up to the pistes are just in front of the hotel. Lech and Oberlech offer many option for aprés-ski fun. Numerous bars and restaurants offering both indoor and outdoor seating with entertainment and music playing. Also many terraces and sundecks to enjoy the weather. Shopping available in Lech, from designer clothes, jewelry, ski equipment, to supermarkets for food, snacks, and souvenirs. Ski and snowboarding equipment rental available within the hotel, with a friendly and professional staff. THE HOTEL The Burg hotel offers many different room categories. Always in warm neutral tones and wooden furniture to create a cosy Alpine atmosphere. I find the room / apartment style to be quite spacious. The bathroom are large and well appointed with bathrobe for the whole family and slippers. The hotel is well know for it's wonderful gourmet cuisine. The main restaurant propose a gastronomic experience every nights (with the half board package) and a great breakfast buffet with eggs made to order and served at the table to get you ready for the day. You must try Helga's quaint, authentic Stube for fondue. Also on the not to be missed list is the beef tatar, the best I ever had! The service and friendly staff is excellent (except a few issues this year) we have always been very pleased with our experience at Burg Hotel. The wellness area is very pleasant for the whole family. It has many facilities including a swimming pool, baby pool with slide, jacuzzi, sauna, massage, fitness room and yoga classes. We enjoyed some pool time after skiing, and took some relaxing time in the jacuzzi and the sauna. Perfect way to end a day of skiing. The spacious and inviting lounge with its cosy sitting, fire place, wooden bar and putting green is a charming space to have an evening drink, play cards, enjoy the relaxing atmosphere… THE KIDS STUFF The hotel is very child friendly and offer many convenient services to accommodate parents. Just steps away from the ski school (from about 3 years of age) and kindergarden facilities of Lech. There is a small kids club to entertain the little ones, also available is a playroom with table tennis, foosball and games. The hotel offers a very good kids menu and can accommodate to special request. High chairs, baby monitors, baby cots, linen and bathrobe for the young guests is provided Baby push sleigh available for walking around the little ones. Don't miss going down to Lech with a sleigh… kids and adults had a great time taking the toboggan run from Oberlech down to Lech. Great fun!…
Great location on the slopes, peaceful at night, wonderful staff, helpful and friendly. There is a variety of restaurants all with food. Great wine cellar, good for an interesting tour and tasting. Helpful and knowledgable ski hire shop on site.
