Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Honestly so disappointed with this hotel- do not be fooled by the photos, it is really dated, probably looked great in the early 00’s, but no more. Regardless of the tired fittings and finishes, the area itself is pretty poor. It’s located essentially on a motorway, so extremely noisy and polluted, there is also a strip club directly next door. Furthermore, it’s a good 30-40 minute walk to the main sights and any of the livelier districts. Although there is a bus stop outside, there is no metro station, so it is a bit of a mission to get into central Athens and back again. Breakfast was awful- don’t waste your money on paying for it when much better (and cheaper) options nearby. I gave it 2 stars because the bed was very big and comfortable and there was a lovely neighbourhood only 10 minutes walk away with some cool local bars and restaurants which I would have missed otherwise. Very overpriced for what you get- spend your money elsewhere!

We were definitely disappointed with this hotel. It was marked a 4* so we definitely had some expectations going in, which was maybe the problem. When we arrived I asked to be in a higher room (since I read other reviews saying it was quite noisy) and the front desk person seemed very annoyed. He moved us to the 4th floor (which did not help the noise) On their website they state the rooms are soundproof, which they definitely are not. It was a little late when we arrived so I was hoping there would be a snack in the minibar - it was empty. There was no coffee in the room (again, online states espresso machine), no bathrobes as stated and no USB ports as stated. We were going to have breakfast at the hotel the first morning, only to find out it was 20€ per person…crazy! We ended up finding an amazing corner store where the owner made us the best coffee and served us local Greek delicacies (we had 2 coffees, rice pudding, pastries, water, juice and rice cakes) for 13€ total (Strogkonof 3, 117 45 Athens - called Gaia and the owner is Stathi…you won’t be disappointed). Long story short….stay somewhere else!!! Only reason I didn’t mark it a one is the location was good.

This hotel has spacious rooms with large comfortable beds! There was lots of traffic noise but we just put white noise on our phones at night to block out the traffic noise. It would’ve been hard to sleep without the white noise. Breakfast is spectacular! By far the best breakfast we had in Greece with many options! The location is a bit far from Plaka, about a 30 min walk. There are restaurants and markets nearby. We did the Acropolis tour and then walked around town and back to our hotel. The bus stop is conveniently located outside the hotel. You can also catch the hop on hop off bus from here. We were in Athens for 2 nights and enjoyed our stay here.

A nice, but not special hotel. We chose this hotel as we attended a conference at the Intercontinental hotel nearby. We got a large room with fantastic views towards the Acropolis at a fraction of the price for the available rooms at the Intercontinental. The top floor rooms are spacious with panoramic views. With better furniture the rooms could have been truly amazing.

Read other reviews to confirm - they've been running this game for a while: You will book through a booking site and pay up front. You'll arrive at a 4-star hotel. They will feed you the excuse of the hour, and tell you they are all booked up but they've upgraded you to their sister hotel. They will quickly usher you out of the lobby to wait for the cab (the cab is on them, yay!). You will arrive to a 3-star hotel (at best), and have to argue with this hotel's staff. You will ask to speak with the manager, who will be unavailable from the time you check in until just after you check out. Note: if you require accessibility, the sister hotel you're forced to stay at is not accessible. The hotel doesn't care, they already have your money, sucker. See photos of the stairs you have to climb, as it's not accessible by elevator to get to breakfast.

Decent hotel. We were traveling with two kids, so we booked a junior suite with the acropolis view and it was worth the price (if you get a higher floor). The room was spacious and comfortable. The hotel is well-located. There are nightclubs, good restaurants (Indian, Greek and Italian) and super markets in its proximity. The staff is friendly. It was a very sweet gesture on their part to pack us a breakfast when we had to check out early morning. It was a pleasant stay.

Really good, highly recommended. Very comfortable rooms with all required amenities. I loved the breakfast spread. The lady at the breakfast section was super helpful all the time. Just 1 recommendation - the ladies at the front desk can be more welcoming and friendly. Lack of smile n feel for their guests.

My room wall is pounding with disco music from near by. When I was trying to sleep for my next business food expo. The disco music just keep pounding on the wall and it’s not a good experience. Just like the movies bad neighbor. I hope the hotel will do something to better minimise this sound or noise pollution.

Let me start off by saying everybody at the hotel was very kind and very helpful. Unfortunately, the hotel is dated and needs renovations. When I first checked into my first room, I noticed right away that the room has seen better days (and it also had cigarette burns in the couch and headboard). To make matter MUCH worse…later that night, I had cockroach’s in my bathroom!!! It was close to 2am, but I insisted that I was moved right away (and they did move my room). The best room was smaller, but I didn’t have any roaches. I did have some ants. There were never a tremendous amount of ants…but everyday I would find ants crawling up the drapes, on my nightstand, on the desk. I went to the breakfast every morning. Unfortunately, it was a common thing for them to run out of clean plates or clean glasses. I would have to ask for clean plates and it would take a very long time before they would ever arrive. They would also frequently run out of food (I.e. eggs). Once they run out - they don’t replace them. I thought that was very odd - but it is what it is. Again, very nice people - however I would stay somewhere else next time. There is a Hyatt right across the street and also the Intercontinental. I didn’t stay in either one of those properties…but I would imagine them being much better.
