As there are not much opinions now for holiday travel in Europe, one is Cyprus. We opted for the Atlantica Mare Village Ayia Napa. The resort is about 5 km away from the town, so it is very quite there. Taxi costs only 10 Euro to go to town, or you take the bus for 1.50. Corona management was very efficient. You find a sanitary kit with a mask, desinfectant gel and gloves in your room. At no time we felt not safe. Buffet was OK, with - may be - reduced stations. Temperature was taken before entry and you had to wear gloves. Also entry was limited to about 20 persons a time. You had to make reservation for a time-slot, which I found was an excellent idea. For the other restaurants you could book at one of the stations, or, more comfortable, with an app on your smartphone. The food at the restaurants was very good, albeit a bit too much. Service was very quick, friendly and efficient. It was a very nice holiday!

Most of the comments are very positive:
Pretty newly hotel not too big with little "bungalows" with own pool (for some of them). Rooms are well designed with lots of plugs for phones (UK plug for other electronic devices). Besides the bungalows 4 buildings with traditional rooms.

Besides the buffet-restaurant with good dishes and also desserts several tasty restaurants with different styles: italian, greek, japanese and Cypriot. All restaurants can be booked with the hotel App.
Nice pools and own beach (sand for beach and some stones for the sea). Lots of fishes close to the big stones which have the role of a dam. Several toboggans for children mainly but also for adults.
Well nice staff very friendly and helpful (serviable) in this COVID-19 time! Temperature measurement, gloves, gel ans mask are provided to each customer and are necessary for the food area and inside the buffet: very safe!

Excellent WIFI connection also on the beach!

Little drawbacks: in all inclusive package local drinks are included but the wine quality to me is average. I took only the white wine (rosé and red were not satisfactory). Due to COVID-19 no night shows, no playground for young children...but it is for our safety. The beach is not cleaned enough: lots of cigarette butts in the sand left by previous customers. I had to clean around my long chairs every day!!!
Rooms with individual polls were not bookable to me through the travel agency....For sure they should be more expensive.

Can’t really fault this hotel! (Almost) brand new and it looks it. Rooms are immaculate and big! Whole hotel
Area is spotless and beautifully presented. Landscaping is lush and well kept.
Pool Areas great. Kids play pool area is insane! So much fun even for adults lol. Food really was top class, even the buffet food. The a la Carte restaurants were amazing too. The sushi was some
Of the best, freshest and tastiest I’ve eaten 👌👌
Beautiful location, beach and local see is beautiful clear blue water and very very safe. If I had to be over picky and fault the hotel then I would say there could maybe be a couple of complimentary alcoholic and soft drinks in the room fridges. Water should definitely be topped up daily which it wasn’t and the coffee and sugars could and should have been topped up daily.
The place could also do with a high end cocktail bar that makes proper cocktails and not the tacky beach cocktails that are currently on offer. They’re ok, but each drink was differnt with every bar tender. And none an actual likeness to the real drink! But hey, not many hotels offer ‘real’ cocktails on their all inclusive list. So shouldn’t expect any more! The local wine was really nice though and we stuck to that mostly. We Would 100% return. It’s perfect for a Higher end family holiday at a very good (almost budget) price 👌👌can’t see this staying so cheap
Once normal world travel resumes!!

The hotel is lovely and is kept immaculately clean at all times with friendly, attentive staff in all areas.

We had a swim up room which was perfect for the children and were lucky enough that it faced the right way and we had sun all day. The double bed lounger was very comfy and you could roll off it into the pool whenever you fancied. The room was very clean with plenty of room for a family of four and seemingly unlimited hot water for the showers. Lots of USB points for charging phones and 2 TVs although we didn’t switch them on so don’t know which channels were available.

Food was of a very high standard in the buffet with lots of variety and new dishes every day including hot/cold and lots of local dishes. Face masks and plastic gloves were rigorously enforced when helping yourself which is a a great idea to maintain hygiene (even in non-covid times).

There didn’t seem to be quite enough tables for the number of people in the main restaurant nor were they cleared quickly enough to get more people in but this was due to a lack of staff rather than the quality of those on duty. Ordering drinks at mealtimes was always easy and a gentleman called Lazaros made us feel particularly welcome every time we saw him.

Booking the extra restaurants was difficult. We arrived on a 6am flight and had a private transfer to the hotel so were presumably some of the first guests to arrive that day yet when we tried to book the restaurants within half an hour of arrival, we could not get in to the BBQ at all and could only get in to the Greek and Italian on the two days before returning home. This may just be down to reduced availability because of covid but would be disappointing in ‘normal’ times.

The bar area is very nice for pre and post dinner drinks with staff serving drinks to your table or you could visit the bar. We always felt well looked after (Xenia was great) and the cocktails were always made with care and the local wine/beer were nice and they were always pleased to make mocktails for the children.

Street lab was good for food during the day and the lounge cafe was good for tea and coffee but irritating that some of the cakes or yoghurts were chargeable at certain times of the day but FOC elsewhere on the complex - is it all inclusive or not?

The grounds are well kept and the pool areas nice although the morons reserving loungers with towels were plenty with sunbeds having towels but no people for large parts of the day. The beach was nice albeit a little rocky underfoot.

The location meant the hotel was on its own but only 2 or 3 miles from Ayai Napa and there was a very nice seafront path that took you all the way. Going in October at the end of the season meant the water park and the amusement park (Luna park) we’re pretty empty and we could go on all the slides and rides without having to queue which made the tickets great value for money.

It was a great place and made for a great holiday.

Lovely complex. Spotlessly clean. One of the larger complexes to stay in Ayia Napa About 4km from town centre so not walking distance , but the pay off is lots of space and more to do - relevant if you’re holidaying to chill and go all inclusive. Buffet was good. Lots of choice. A la carte Greek was very good and the Italian wasn’t bad either. Can’t comment on sushi or bbq restaurant.
I’ve heard people moaning that the service isn’t 5 star but in reality it’s what I would expect from a holiday that’s all inclusive at this price. Drinks service at lunch and dinner but you go the bar yourself at other times. Fair play. But if you want more you’d better go up the 5 star price scale I think.
Due to covid the kids crèche was necessarily closed and buffet entrance required masks and gloves to be worn. Honestly though, I was happy with this for a safe holiday that minimised covid, plus with Cyprus on the whole taking it very seriously , this meant no surprise 2 week quarantine on return. If you don’t like this then holiday in England! Sorry but I feel it really is that simple in the current climate. Spain was cancelled 8th aug and then 5th September.
Paid extra for sea view. Loved it. Room was large and up to date. Bed was ace. Many of the bungalow residences have either their own swim up pool or it was shared with only a 4 others. They did look cool, but most omit a sea view. Kids aqua park was open. Big kids allowed! Sea within the breakwater was like a large warm calm bath. Parasending, jet skis, etc available and not at stupid prices. Great for snorkelling. Found justscuba on Facebook to go scuba diving in a nearby bay - usually they’d use one of the pools as a taster but this was a no no this year (covid again!) Hotel Staff were generally great. I get the impression the manager is very hands on. I’m assuming it was a guy called Frank because he was all over the place. Bar staff were cool. Learnt the word ‘cheers’ in local “yammas “ it. A bit of reciprocal good manners I feel .

Myself my husband and 2 friends were disappointed that our previous 2 hoildays were cancelled due to covid but we were pleasantly surprised by this hotel...its a little gem.with obvious restrictions in place ie wearing masks in public places like reception and the dining room whilst getting your food.we all felt very safe all staff wore masks and disposable gloves at all times.
The hotel is very clean spotless in fact rooms are lovely and fresh towels daily.there is tea/coffee facilities in the room, hair dryer we even connected our phones up to the tv ideal for early nights or when your getting changed for meal times.
The food is lovely and plenty to choose from as they catered for every one it's not all pizza and chips every day even in the morning the was variety of breakfast cereals full english if you want that ,pancakes
The snack bar by the pool is lovely think we tried everything
There is a little shop on site but some things are very pricey like suntan cream but they do sell the tabbacoitems but dont think you will get a bargain because your abroad you wont.
The pools are lovely not to cold some of the rooms have swim up pools which is worth paying the little bit extra.
The beach is lovely and clean but is a bit rocky so it's worth getting some beach shoes I actually took some cheap pumps from primark which were just as good
A trip into ayia napa in a taxi arranged from the reception cost about 10 euros
We did a trip out on a boat which was lovely

We enjoyed everything about the hoilday apart from the flights with tui paid for extra leg room and they changed the planes without notification until last minute
The hotel food and staff were fantastic cant fault a thing.

Me and my partner had our honeymoon here. I would advise to visit your welcome meeting if your travel with tui for example.

We had to wait a while to check in and be drove in a golf buggy to our room. Our key didn't at work at first but it was late so we waited until tomorrow to sort it. It was sorted quickly the next day and luckily the gold buggy driver had a spare key.

We had cake and sparkling wine because of our honeymoon which was a nice touch. You get refills on fizzy pop and juice drinks which is very handy in the heat. You get two Nespresso pods each and can buy more in the local shop. You also get slippers and gowns which are handy.

We had swim up room which we were so happy with it was well used and so thankful for having a room like that so thank you atlantica mare! It was a lovely apartment big enough for a couple. Luckily we like cats because we had a few sleeping under our sunbeds daily.

The food through the day was very nice at the pool bar we were all inclusive so many options. Our favourite restaurant was the Greek restaurant which we wish we could have gone more than once we didn't try the sushi. The Italian was nice too. The BBQ restaurant was near the sea and had high expectations that didn't really meet ours.

Sunbeds were limited around main pools and beach but after ten days there we got beds at some point but it was just for a change on a couple of days because we loved our swim up room.

We changed our towels when needed at the shop which was nice and easy. We made good use of the bus service, sometimes it was very busy but very worth the cheap amount to get around. We enjoyed a couple of nights out in Ayia Napa but you are far enough away to not hear any noise.

We had an evening at Adams beach restaurant which was very nice give it a visit if you want a treat.

The all inclusive drinks were premium at the hotel bar and a tray of nuts were very nice!

We would definitely visit again.

I only gave this four out of five because a few things let it down mainly some staff but like i said some are lovely.

My only complaints were the maids came in when not wanted and were waiting outside on departure day which felt quite uncomfortable.
Some of the bar staff were quite rude I even had someone walk purposely in my path but some were lovely, a shame others let it down.
One night we could hardly get seated then when we did we were not offered a drink with our meal.

Awaiting departure we were given a shower room which was nice to freshen up.

Would definitely visit again.

Booked one week in advance over the phone like we always do. It was supposed to be “all inclusive”. Due to the situation with covid we only visited 4&5 star all inclusive hotels this year in Cyprus. So we went at the reception, filled in the forms in order to complete the check-in and asked when are we allowed to have our lunch. All the hotels we’ve been to tell you that you have the choice to eat lunch either on the day of your arrival or on the next day. (By the way eventually they all allowed us to eat lunch both days out of good will). When I asked at this hotel, they said you are checking in at 3pm and check out at 11am (all other hotels checked us in at 2pm and out at 12pm and eventually got late checkout at 4pm in all of them) so she said we are not allowed to eat lunch!!! And I said so its all inclusive except lunch? And she said “no! All meals are included in the price but since you are getting your room at 3pm and checking out at 11am you are not allowed to have the lunch”. Is this some kind of a joke? We are lucky we actually own a house in Ayia Napa so we cancelled the reservation and went back home and enjoyed a wonderful day elsewhere! Never coming back! Definitely a 5-star service. Not even a 4-star!

Dear Konlnax, thank you for letting us know about your personal experience and opinion during check in at our Resort. Following the national protocol during the Covid 19 pandemic, ensuring the health and safety for all our staff and guests and the higher intensive cleaning of our guest rooms between arrival and departure, we had to change the check in and check out times to 3pm check in and 11am check out. Of course we are flexible, especially for guests as you only staying for one night to offer a lunch prior check in as our reception staff did. Unfortunately you never gave us the change to experience the full hospitality of staying with us. Please be sure that our service and standards , especially during a difficult year like this, are still one of the highest as many repeating guests and reviewers are letting us know day by day. Please let us know, if you decide returning to Mare Village, so we can look after you. Sunny regards Frank Durstewitz Guest Relations Manager

I have been with my family from 2/8-9/8 to the hotel. Initially i requested Double room and there was a free upgrade to Family room, by Mrs. Margarita with was much bigger for my case, with a sliding door separating main room

The booking was All inclusive where you can take almost any local drinks free, there was a snack bar where you can eat in between the breakfast/lunch Dinner. At night instead of going to Buffet you could visit the local restaurants once and order anything you want.

The rooms were clean with a every 2 days cleaning and change of sheets, but every day change of towels and take rubbish . There are 2 big swimming pools, supported by Lifeguards at any time . All guys there were friendly and helpful and willing to assist us for any queries.

We have request from Chef to prepare everyday food for my 10 month daughter and was very helpful and willing everyday , asking whether food should be prepared for the 10 months daughter.

In addition there is a water park where kids can spent whole day. Overall i am very satisfied with the hotel and the staff and i will definitely book again for my holidays with my family .

Recommendations as good gesture for improvement: 1. Cleaners should not just go in and change towels on first day. If there is a glass/or small plastic bag with rubbish they can collect it as well instead of just stick to the towels and take the plastic bag from toilet and kitchen

2. I would prefer a more variety in the lunch and Dinner , in terms of Salads and food without all these sauces. Otherwise the rest was fine

I was going to wait until I get home to write this review but today's service just proved my point that this hotel is at least a 2-3 star hotel. The customer service at times is diabolical and rude. The staff are over run all day and night which isn't their fault but management!!
The ques at the only two outside bars is ridiculous at times especially later on, not enough sunbeds around both pools and the beach. Today we enquired about keeping our room which we were quoted 95€, as for the courtesy room there isn't one. We were told to use the one shower in the toilets around the pool, there are 10 of us in our party so should we que up hours before never mind every other party who need a shower. I could go on and on, I will not recommend this so called 5☆ hotel to anyone. I will also send an email to TUI on my return of our disappointing holiday. We arrived with 20 pers in our party, all 20 were in agreement with my comments.

Dear Squash31 Thank you for taking your time, leaving your personal comments on this review. We do feel sorry that we could not reach your expectations. All your comments are taken very serious and we will have a look into them. About your requested late check out. A late check out can be booked and confirmed in advance via your Tour operator. All other late check out requests are always subject on availability, and as we are still in the high season a late check out is not always possible to arrange, as the new arriving guests also want to move into their rooms. We understand the inconvenience, but we do hope for your understanding. Sunny regards from all the management and staff

Is ice cream included in the All Inclusive package?

They seem to have all inclusive icecream truck with individualy wrapped icecream, but the scooped icecream store is not included. Which Tui if you read this, you shouldn't show hand scooped icecream cones when they are not included in all inclusive.

The resident area is at the backside of the hotel next to the main road. Personally it shouldn't be a problem unless you sit on your balcony.
