On the positive side, this hotel has plenty of character and the owners were very friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and the breakfast was good. Having the free use of their bikes was great and the hotel is an easy walk into Konstanz. Only slight negative is that possibly down to the Swiss Franc exchange rate, the hotel seemed a bit expensive for something that was fairly basic. The towels were rather threadbare and there were no complimentary soaps, shampoos, etc, just dispensers in the shower and basin. A few touches of luxury would have been nice.

This Hotel was top of value, kind of new renovated rooms very convenient and nice interior, good night sleep beds. Welcome service was very nice as they have been closed but service was full working, even better I could make change to my bookings and got help to my full satisfaction. The friendly personnel was also in the morning at the rich breakfast service, coffee, eggs, muesli, marmalade all you need! Wifi was good and available, the terrace we did not use. Most fun was the little trip crossing border, into Konstanz old town, walking 20 minutes, by bike 5 minutes - no passport no control just FUN. The known disadvantage of loud neighbors we did hear, but at night all was silent, we had a great sleep. Thanks for the service we did like it and will come back!

Well, I mist admit it is a wonderfull property. Great location (a bit hard to find, yes, however GPS helps), easy parking and super friendly concierge!! My compliments to him. A stand up guy, friendly and helpfull, always with a smile on his face!

The desk has limited hours, not a big deal, and even if we got there late a note was left outside (key left in a mail box close by) it was of no hurdle.

However we were a bit disappointed. We booked a room a week prior to our stay and by the number of cars (none but ours) and a bit off the beaten track I suppose we were the only ones staying, the room was dirty and stuffy.

We had spider webs in the room corners, and even a frindly but mute pet. A dangling dry ladybug off her final resting place. at the center of the room there was a spider web liliana in which the poor bug was hanging. I wonder how the cleaning staff missed this one?
Further to this, there is a window next to the shower with curtains. The result is that mould grew on both. The soap dispenser in the shower was empty (the one close to the sink not), a misshap, howere the management had a week to prepare a room, more than enough time to properly look after guests. Linen had some hairs, which were not ours.

Breakfast was ok, maby a bit limited, however if we were the only ones, I understand!

Ps. We were told that the proprety will be under renovation. Hoping that our experience was just a misshap in which a lot of small things whent wrong.

The hotel is kept very clean. The breakfast offered a large variety and the coffee was excellent. I would have liked to know in advance that the restaurant is closed and therefore the only available snacks and drinks are from a dispenser. I was told the hotel is being extensively renovated over the winter 20/19/20 and the restaurant will then re-open in the spring. There is no attendance 24 hrs, so I found one late night the outer door unlocked and a sign (more a letter) to a guest registered, telling him the key to his room (incl. room number) is located in the mail box and he should help himself. A bit unusual for a place called Hotel. At night the Hotel is hard to find as the signage to it is far to small. The hotel is one long lane away from the customs center Taegerwilen which is not being attended.

We undertook a bicycle tour of Lake Constance and our organizer booked us into this hotel right on the doorstep of the city of Konstanz, very near the Lake. We parked the car there while we cycled round the lake and returned there 6 days later. The hotel is small but has a nice history which can be read about on the pictures and panels on the wall. Dinner is outside on the covered terrace, weather permitting and it's nice and made with local greens. The rooms are comfortable, quite modern, clean and the bathroom has a window (rather than a ventilation fan). Price/ quality ratio is high and for the casual tourist a really nice place to recover after biking. Breakfast in Swiss style (the hotel is just about 10 m from the German border) with Muesli and Swiss cheese, fresh fruit and lovely bread. There is a pretty terrace on the second floor for relaxing (weather permitting, of course) and a refrigerator with self-service drinks at reasonable prices. This is a family-run hotel with friendly service. We enjoyed our stay and would go back, it's only 10 minutes on foot from the city centre of Konstanz which has a lot to offer.

Not a great experience and perhaps it was because we arrived ,having pre booked, between 8.30 and 8.45pm . We were told the restaurant had stopped taking orders and that a bar menu was available. Not far from the old town centre. The rooms were a little dated and not very sound proof. Breakfast was satisfactory.
