I cannot thank the beautiful team at Hotel Elysion enough . We stayed for two weeks, and during that time we had family join us, at one point we were 14 , including two toddlers, two young children , and younger and older members of our family from 20 months to 79 years of age.
We hired cars with Elysion’s assistance and were able to visit monasteries, villages, thermal springs, olive oil production tour and so much more.
The complimentary breakfast was a big hit with us all, it set us up for the day. Some evenings we are in the hotel, superb food. The hotel cook can produce baby meals to order- we did this a couple of times and baby adored the food.
The rooms are all fabulous as each room has a pretty view , the balconies are large. The beds are cruise standard, and we felt very comfortable using the air conditioning on hot nights . Our rooms were kept spotless , with lovely toiletries supplied.
The staff are trained to very high standards, they are very knowledgeable and gave us excellent advice on where to visit .
It’s so lovely to come home to the hotel after a long day of adventures .
There are several beautiful beaches very close by.
I don’t think this holiday could have been so successful without the amazing support of Team Elysion . Everyone had such a great time .
The pool is kept spotless , and we appreciated the childrens’ pool.
I only have praise for this beautiful hotel. We came to the Elysion two years ago ago for a wedding . We very much hope to return in the future.
Thank you.

The Hotel was more than we have expected. With the amazing greeting at the reception, we were given an upgrade to a suite due to being with 3kids.
The pool was impeccably clean, and the lifeguard was taking great care of the kids while swimming.

The food and service at the pool bar were great and definitely value for money.

They have also organised breakfast boxes for all of us due to early departure and were happy to accommodate some special wishes 😊

Thank you to the whole team for taking such good care of us on our short visit.

Elysion will definitely be out choice when we come back to Lesbos!

DO NOT RECOMMEND THAT HOTEL !!!
Wedding Party by the pool until 02.00 AM with loudest Music.
We could not sleep after exhausting day of excursion and sun.
Disrespectful and Careless Management did not do anything about that loud music.
In addition there is Rocky Beach and at breakfast unfresh croissants.
Barely 3,5 Star Hotel NOT 5 Star.
Ask before reservation If there is Local Wedding at the hotel.

Everyone in this hotel was nice, helpful and professional. The breakfast was great to start the day. Rooms were clean and specious. All the areas of the place were well maintained. One of the girls in the front desk was extraordinary. She suggested places to go visit and eat. Wonderful people.

A great hotel of the world...not!

We booked our week long stay at Elysion near Mytilene and stayed with our 2 young children (toddler and 7 month old baby) in late April/early May 2013 for a week. Unfortunately the hotel's location being very remote from Mytilene town blended with really poor customer service, let this hotel down, and mean we wont be returning to the hotel, and will not be recommending it either.

We booked their most expensive room, the executive suite.

The restaurant despite suggestions they can accommodate food for babies, has absolutely no healthy veg to offer for a baby and extremely limited to almost no options for a todler either, we asked if they would be able to boil some carrots, or broccolli, or cauliflower, or sweet potato, all of which are available at the local supermarkets but they did not have any available. The one meal we had there was a very dry affair of a meat platter which was hard to chew and poor value. Needless to say we did not return and preferred to go to some of the many excellent restaurants in town.

Hotel staff are mostly ok but sadly let down by one female staff (long hair who did the transfers with the renault) who is terribly rude and unprofessional. Her manners towards us were so bad we had to raise a complaint against her - not something I like to do when I am on a holiday. It all started late on the 4th day of our stay, until then we were lucky enough not to have had any discussions with her. On the 4th day of our stay we requested a little saucepan to boil vegetables suitable for the baby as they did not provide them in the restaurant and her abrupt, rude manners refusing one when there are cook rings/hobs in the room, quoting some dubious law then when asked why there are cooking rings (hobs) in the room if there are no pans to cook with, left us completely shocked, to say the least. In the end after a lengthy very upsetting conversation she agreed to provide a milkpan (which wasn't a milkpan, but a tiny mpriki, not enough for baby's milk) so that we could at least 'boil some milk'.

We were so appalled by the rudeness and lack of manners of this individual, that we tried to avoid any further unplesantries during our stay, sadly we and our young children were not even left alone to enjoy our holiday. On one occasion a staff approached my toddler with things he shouldn't eat at the breaskfast bar, putting them in a bowl and handing them to him, we said nothing even though we were shocked at how someone can do that without even checking with the parents.

Following the saucepan request, the same female staff was at reception on several occasions and responded rudely about everything we asked. On one instance when I asked, as I had done on all 4 days prior to that, for pool towels, she insisted very abruptly with a manner that was the most rude and unprofessional i have encountered from hotel staff, on charging us for the towels. I got so upset about the way she spoke to me, which was abrupt and rude at best, that I asked what the cost would be per towel,to which she responded in a very aloof way that they are free unless we do not return them. Having never before in the 4 days prior when dealing with other staff been told this at all, I was left in shock about how she continued to harass with her manners. A good hotel would have strived to make us feel welcome after a comment or complaint, Elysion and its manager have an attitude that they are better than their clients, at least. It was how she talked, and her manners that were appalling.Needless to say no one else had made such a fuss or even mentionted towels as needing to be charged at reception in the previous 4 days.

We tried to avoid any further unplesantires in a last attempt, however we were not even given the space to do so. On the day before our departure by which time we had encountered further unpleasant manners and cynical talk from her, she passed by me and swore in front of me about us to one of her colleagues as loud as she could pointing at me, at which point i made a complaint about her person as she was clearly not leaving us alone and insisted on her rude manners despite our best efforts to avoid any further unpleasantries. At that point the staff noting the complaint said that the rude staff for whom I was complaining was in fact the hotel manager (!!!) and we were refused contact details of whom she reports to so that we can lodge a formal complaint. We were given her mobile number and first name only (Katerina) to call to discuss, which we called at least twice, no answer and no voicemail.

Other then that the hotel offers sizeable rooms, which are very dark even during daytime with all windows open (and very gloomy at that), dark interiors and a shower with jet and radio options.

The balcony needed a lot of cleaning, with a bird nest at the top left.

The pool wasn't particularly clean either, although they did try to clean it twice during our stay, it was densely populated on most days by locals.

The breakfast menu was typical greek, with different sweets everyday. Lots of filo pastry eggs and cake, and a somewhat lacking fruit basket. The coffee machine is ok, you find you need to get a coffee in town on 3rd day to get a decent one. I once asked if they could make a different coffee as i saw staff serving other customers coffee they made in the kitchen and found them insisting that the machine had good enough coffee. I didnt ask again after this response.

We also encountered a youngster at the pool shouting there were cockroaches in the pool and wasps which we later saw too (dead, still).

All in all a fairly mixed experience, as we have stayed in much better hotels in Mytilene and have had excellent friendly service on all but this stay, which is rather important for a family of 4 we shall not be recommending Elysion.

Response from Pan S, Manager at Elysion Hotel
Responded 24 May 2013
A short to the point reply from the management to the latest comments: Elysion hotel is 6,5 Klm from the centre at the beach front on the main street. Exec Suite is not the most expensive room. The restaurant always serves fresh organic veg from our garden. The chefs of the hotel cook baby meals for free. Cooking is strictly forbidden in the rooms. Pool towels get charged unless returned and signed off at reception. Water examinations of the pool prove how clean the water is. We serve the same Italian A class coffee both from the coffee machine and direct from the bar tenders. Last but not least we will not make a comment about the clients behaviour but we will praise the impeccable behaviour of the husband, thank him for the compliments we received and accept his apologies he gave to the staff during their stay.

We stayed here for one night as we had an early flight to Athens the next morning,
Staff were very friendly and courteous and the rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable,
We had a family room for 2 adults and 2 children (one teenager) and it was excellent value.

Being tired, we reluctantly decided to eat at the hotel, but were very pleasantly surprised with both the quality of the food, (we had mainly pasta) and the price.

We will definitely visit again

PS I left my sunglasses behind and I had an email from the hotel informing me before I realised myself.

I spent a few days at this hotel, thought it was a let down. The pictures on the hotel website are somewhat misleading, it looks more tired in reality. the biggest let down was cleanliness was elusive to non existent in common parts of the hotel such as corridors and stairs, with cob webs and spiders seen every day. The bedding in the room was ok, and the mattress was comfy, but the bedding covers could have been better looked after,it was showing signs of previous tenants stay.

The shower has instructions in Greej only, therfore one cannot really use it to have a proper shower. Towels not changed either.

The food in the restaurant quite inedible which other residents said to me while I was there, there is definitely a lot of room for improvement.

Proximity to airport and noise from planes are both very good. Not really walkable from airport or to town as it's on a busy main road.

Brekfast was ok, variety ok for Greej standards.
