Auas Safari Lodge is nestled in an expanse of African savannah in the shadow of the Auas mountains. Less than an hour away from the Windhoek international airport Auas Safari lodge lies in an unspoiled wilderness far removed from the trappings of city life. Waterbuck, kudu, impala, eland, zebra, black & blue wildebeest, oryx, springbuck and many of the smaller antelope species roam the Auas savannah.

Our running group spent one night at Auas Safari Lodge. The staff was extremely friendly and went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Lots os personal touches like cake and tea/coffee in the afternoon and special recipe droë wors on the game drive. I was most impressed that they were willing to accommodate the dietary choices of a vegan, diabetic and gluten sensitive person on very short notice.

Spent a lovely weekend at Auas Safari Lodge outside Windhoek. Frieda the manager and her team were very hospitable and extremely kind. We had the best rest and it honestly felt like I was at home. Definitely a must go place to go to for relaxation , great food, amazing views, a kind face to speak about the safari, and please try their Auas sunset mocktail- its the best.

We stayed at the lodge for a short family get together. The experience was excellent - booking on short notice was extremely efficient, the staff at the lodge was very friendly, considerate and helpful (we had two very senior ladies in our group) and the food, both dinner and breakfast, was exceptional. Real value for money and highly recommended - we will definitely be back!

We stayed for 2 nights as a family outing to just get out off Windhoek (during "lockdown"). Nice setting, friendly staff and excellent dinner. The breakfast was also a highlight, as fresh fruit salad and other "specials" were served. However, the 2nd nights breakfast was less impressive (no croissants, no fruit yoghurt). We did not do any payable activities, but a long walk. The rooms, especially the bathrooms, are 80s style and could do with some improvement. The fire place in every room was a nice touch during the cold winter nights.

I had the pleasure of staying here briefly while on a business trip. I was very impressed by the peaceful surroundings and extremely polite staff. The rooms are comfortable, well sized and have everything you need. I was lucky enough to go on a game drive and was really pleased to see a good variety of animals and hear the guides talk so knowledgeably about the local plants and animals. They even set up a picnic breakfast with tea and coffee during the drive! Overall the lodge has a very tranquil atmosphere and I would be happy to stay here again.

On the plus side - reasonably priced (compared to many lodges) and well located for the airport (we stayed here on our last night at the end of our trip). Nice drive to/from it. On the average to downside - compared to some of the glorious lodges we stayed at, this felt a bit tired (rooms and common areas). Waterhole ok - but nothing compared to those we were next to at other places. We didn't bother with a safari (we were pretty safari-ed out by that point) but again compared to other locations, what you will see is more limited). Food respectable without being anything to write home about. Decent pool area (though again sunbeds were a bit meh).

This lodge is highly recommended for an overnight stop when passing through Windhoek. We stopped there on our way to the south. The staff was friendly and helpful, the rooms are spacious and spotlessly clean and food excellent.

We were very pleased to stay in Auas Safari Lodge. When we arrived there were a lot of animals and birds on the waterpool. I was quite and lovely to stay there. If we are going back to Namibië we will visit the Auas Safari Lodge again..

They are situated in the Auas mountains in close proximity Windhoek and the Hosea Kutako aiport (both approx. 1 hour away). Roads, especially to Windhoek in bad condition. They have a water hole close to the pool area where animals (water buck, warthog, blue wildebeest etc) get fed due to the current drought. Nice to watch... Food is of good standard, service is good, staff is friendly. They have some hiking posabilities if you want some exercise. To the discerning eye however, it is evident that the lodge (and rooms) is over 30 years old an a bit more care (and money) should have been taken with the upgrades. Otherwise not too disappointing, but the lodge does not stand out from the rest...
