If you go to Ronda you must book a suite at this hotel!!! The view from your bedroom, living room and expansive deck are incredible!!
Hotel is clean, friendly helpful staff, lunch on deck by bar excellent and a nice breakfast!
If you register as a Catalonia member when booking with the hotel you get a discount and a free visit to the spa for two daily.
In the spa you'll find a sauna, lounge chairs, hot and cold experience and a pool with various soothing treatments for your body.
Staying at this hotel gives you immediate access to the town by a 5 minute walk and make sure you hike the valley!!!
There is a loop from just over the bridge I town and down the hill on the right side.
You'll end up back at the hotel, just make sure you make a right as you are going up the hill out of the valley at the horse farm.
It's a wonderful scenic 1-1.5 hour hike.
ENJOY!!

We stayed here for 1 night almost 20 years ago with the kids and enjoyed the decadent elegance and location. This visit, we were struck by the quality of the improvements, the swimming pool, spa facilities, the restaurant: everything.
Check in was efficient and quick, with all Covid regulations in place. Staff were really helpful and friendly, more than happy to answer any questions and help with booking slots for the swimming pool, spa etc.
Our room was as requested: double terrace room with Tajo views: marvellous. Loved the balcony with 2 chairs and a table with magnificent sunset views. How lovely to drink a cup of tea in the morning in such an amazing setting.
The room was spacious, equipped with a comfy bed and good quality bedding and fluffy towels as well as pool towels, kettle with tea and coffee, flat screen tv, mini bar, hairdryer and decent air con.
Breakfast was great, no problems at all: you are shown to you table and from then on help yourself to an array of easy foods which are all locally sourced and fresh. The orange juice is freshly squeezed and the coffee good!
I recommend eating dinner at the hotel: delicious. We had the fried fish selection for starters and Tataki tuna for main, finishing with buttered patty meringue and every mouthful was delicious. With a view to die for over the mountains during sunset.
The swimming pool is great and very tranquil and relaxing: you have to book 2 hour slots to prevent overcrowding.
All in all, everything seemed well organised and staff were professional and courteous. We loved our stay and hope to be back soon.
Thank you all, and special mention to Jose on the reception.

We booked a double room with request a for a bath but on arrival on arrival they did not have one available but very kindly up graded us to a junior suite with one which normally was more than twice the rate. We had only intended staying one night but liked the hotel so much we decided to stay another night.
They staff were most welcoming and helpful. The whole experience was lovely

The Reina Victoria has been refurbished extremely well. It is very comfortable with a lovely al fresco restaurant as well as an internal restaurant. The views are magnificent. The hotel is comfortable; the pool and sunbathing areas are wonderful, again with magnificent views. The bar and restaurant staff were polite and helpful.
However, the food was disappointing for a four star hotel. We ate dinner at the hotel on one night only and were rather disappointed at the quality and lack of imagination in the menu. The buffet breakfast was reasonable but the "hot" food, ordered separately, was cold (but not as cold and frosty as the waitress who quite obviously found serving guests something of a nuisance). She was rude and abrupt and, as a result, we decided not to have breakfast at the hotel for the rest of our stay. The cooked breakfast was, as I say, cold and unappetising. However, it is right to say that she was the only member of the staff about whom we had any complaint. The spa was relaxing and Nuria, one of the therapists, was charming and polite. I had a lovely pedicure with her. I do agree with one of the reviews with regards to the bathroom being in the sitting area. I personally prefer the privacy of a separate bathroom. However, the rooms have been refurbished well. (Having visited the hotel before the refurbishment I was impressed with the extensive work that has been done to the hotel). Although there are a few complaints in this review I have no hesitation in recommending this beautiful hotel and we will most certainly return - but not for breakfast! I should add that the hotel's COVID precautions were excellent and we felt quite safe in all areas of the hotel.

Whenever we stay in our friends’ apartment in Monte Duquesa we always arrange a 1 night trip to a special place in the area. Having been to Ronda many times we decided to stay in the Hotel Catalonia Reina Victoria Wellness & Spa.
It is amazing…
We had a warm & friendly check-in for a superior double room with terrace; our room was outstanding & had everything & more that we desired, very comfortable bed & sofa/TV area. From our terrace the breathtaking views of the gardens, the Guadalevin valley & Tajo de Ronda were wonderful.
We had a lunch of tapas & drinks on the Gourmet Corner bar sun terrace…delish
We then went walkabout, a short stroll into town & then on to the Old Historic Town.
When we returned to our room a tray of fresh fruit & Cava had been delivered which we enjoyed on the terrace just before sunset.
We didn’t have dinner in the hotel having booked the Pedro Romero beforehand…
Breakfast is scrumptious & offers an immense choice – juices, fruits, yoghurts, breads, continental & cooked. The breakfast really does set you up for the day…
Following this we went to the spa & enjoyed the thermal waters - sheer bliss, an oasis of calm & healing.
So then we left with everlasting memories of this lovely hotel, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay & will return.
#Coronavirus - We found ourselves in a situation outside our control, staying 'during the age of the Corona' just before an official lockdown in Spain was announced.
There were some guests who were on coach tours who were clearly worried & unsettled but despite this we had an enjoyable stay & had the Spa to ourselves.
The staff were all very mindful of the situation & the effect on their guests & themselves.
It is in God's hands & who knows when we will be able to travel again to Southern Spain, but we will, when this passes...x

This hotel is situated about 800m from Puente Nuevo, but the walk to town only does good when you eat so much good food! We had a beautiful corner room on the 2nd floor with balcony and Tajo views - I think we've never had such a fantastic view before! The view from the Hotel Parador cannot be any better than this! The garden is beautiful and situated just on the edge of the cliffs. Down there we saw small farms with olive trees and wine grapes. In the garden there is a nice terrace where you can enjoy a drink or a meal. Breakfast is very good, and so was what we had for one lunch and one dinner. To dine on the terrace in sunset was just magic! In addition reception staff and restaurant staff were so nice and helpful. One day serving on the terrace was really too slow with a new guy at work, but that is all. The outdoor swimming pool is very nice. We did not try the spa. If you arrive by car it is easy to find the hotel, and they have a good parking. The absolute best hotel choice in Ronda!

We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights, our first trip abroad in some time due to the pandemic. The hotel was perfect, the views are amazing and we sat and enjoyed the afternoon sun / sunset each night. We had a room with a tajo view and I would definitely recommend this; it was wondering to sit on the balcony in the mornings and enjoy. The hotel staff were helpful and polite, and whilst you do have to pay for car parking it's E10 a night and very safe and convenient.

Restaurants and sights are within a 10 minute walk. We had considered booking the Parador but in our view (and our friends who were also with us) Hotel Catalonia Reina Victoria was better located for expansive views and provided much needed peace and tranquility. We were a bit late in the season for outdoor swimming, but the pool was beautiful, again with views across the tajo.

On arrival the young lady who checked us in was so helpful and friendly as are all the staff. The on-site car park is secure and is €15 a day..The hotel is very clean and the rooms are modern. We booked a room overlooking the valley which is well worth it .Breakfast is buffet style with everything you could want . The pool is in amongst the pine forest with great views , always plenty of sun beds, towels provided in the room. We ate at the restaurant as the views are stunning and so is the food we had a sharing started of prawn croquettes, followed by suckling leg of lamb and roasted turbot , then shared a cheesecake. We had a 4 glasses of wine a large beer and bottle of water approx £80 well worth it . Well worth joining the loyalty club as you get 10% of food and beverages . Will definitely use this brand of hotel again.

Having planned a special Birthday surprise, (after a horrendous 12 months), my husband carefully planned our trip to Ronda. He chose this Hotel for its unique location, reviews and the restaurant. A reservation for a ‘memorable’ Birthday meal in the Restaurant was made via emails one month ahead, to the Hotel and the restaurant. It was covered that I have onion and orange allergies.
Our room was beautiful with fabulous views. My husband had 5 SPA treatments arranged for me, All S spectacular.
On the evening of my Birthday we had pre dinner drinks on the terrace then went to the dining room.
1. They did not have our dinner reservation, therefore no pre prep for my allergies or nice surprise / special Birthday touches. It was discovered that the Hotel had not communicated our booking / allergies to the restaurant and the restaurant denied receiving our email.
2. The waiter looked and acted like he wanted to be anywhere other than serving us dinner.
3. When choosing our meal we were informed they did not have Steak (my choice) or Turbot.
3. We chose a wine (we are wine Connoisseurs) Muga Crianza 2015 Bodegas Muga. The waiter arrived and served us a 2016 bottle, with no explanation or the offer of another choice. By this point my husband and I were feeling rather insulted. Did he actually believe we would not notice, but my husband chose to have our meal and wine and not cause a stir, as it was my ‘special night’ .
4. With everyone now having the knowledge of my allergies, the waiter served us complimentary Gazpacho.....++++++onions. When I pointed this out he reluctantly removed it and later presented me with an alternative. This could have resulted in a Medical Emergency.
5. No surprise for my Birthday. Anywhere we have visited for our Birthdays have excelled at their approach to our celebrating a special day, by a small token ie. Birthday card, Champagne, chocolates, cake.

To sum up our stay, apart from the above, the staff were fabulous (5* for SPA staff) and the Hotel beautiful. Had we not experienced the above we would definitely returned, as we are keen travellers.
My husband made an independent decision not to address these issues During our stay, as previously mentioned, after a hard year he did not have the energy or enthusiasm to complain.
AH

We couldn't decide between this hotel and the Parador. I can't comment on the Parador but we found the Reina Victoria an excellent place to stay for our two nights in Ronda, and we would totally recommend it. We had a Terrace room with Tajo views. The view was fantastic. The room was modern and clean. The hotel itself has loads of history and charm, and the grounds directly overlook the gorge. The pool is a bit small but nicely styled and to be honest, few hotels in the town are going to have big pools. All the staff were really friendly and deserve a special mention. This was our first stay in a Catalonia Hotel and I hope the rest are as good as this. The buffet-style breakfast was very good and varied. The rooms were ultra clean. It's about a 10 minute walk to the bridge, which is the only downside. But we would happily go back. We ate in the restaurant on the second night and wished we'd eaten there both nights. Also, it's worth signing up to the loyalty scheme for a discount!
